I'd rather have shitty spawns than spawn campers.

No H3's system still lets you get spawn camped twice before you spawn in an escape spot. Ever been sniped on Narrows from the left or right middle pockets? I have.

Once enough death points accumulate the system no longer chooses that point to be spawned at. A good spawn camper will KNOW where the next set of spawns are...People have already figured this out there's a shitton of threads on forums about it.

Especially now you can actually go into Forge and see where the spawns are placed exactly, it leads for just as much frustration as in H2.

In standoff if your team forces itself up to the tree and middle and you just killed them in base they are going to spawn outside the base near the tunnel entrance that has a BR against the wall and the right silo. Things like this happen all the time

If you nade shotgun on the pit people can't spawn there have a person grabbing the flag, forces everyone to spawn over by Sniper. Easiest way to pull a flag through empty hall. Pro's base their entire Pit CTF gameplay on that strategy.

I don't know. A lot of people complain here about the spawns yet I don't see a solution from any/most of them.
Since I tend to play only BTB games, I very rarely have any spawning issues, even on Standoff which this one dude on the internet said was shitty. I've seem some bad stuff on Blackout and a few other maps in my little time with them, so I'm assuming this impacts smaller maps more than larger ones. I have one, maybe two bad spawns in ever ten games or so.

And I die a lot.

Considering there are many many spawn points on a map. Why not have a system where it looks at both, the location of an enemy and your negative points when spawing you. Rather than just using one of the options as it currently does. I think it would help in a big way.

Ghal, have you ever tried to stay on the cliff outside of the shotgun trying to provide cover and snipe the other team? (I have had a whole team spawn behind me, right there as I am standing by the oversheild and rush me like zombies in dead rising)

Yeah I rarely have any spawning troubles either, and I play TO, TS, DLC Slayer, RBTB, SBTB, DLC Objective, quite frequently.

Edit:

Could work, but if it did/were this easy, wouldn't Bungie have implemented the system before the game had launched?

If any of you were wondering why I don't play with a mic. It's not because I'm deaf, it's that I wear a cochlear implant behind the ear. It's uncomfortable to wear, so whiny voices or not. Yeah.

It looks at both. Once the death points make it more favorable to spawn you close to the enemy you'll get those really weird spawns where you spawn next to the enemy team hopeless. (Or behind them for an easy assassination)

Yes High Ground is brokened too. I think thats because the ledge is different territory to the system than the ground you are currently walking around. The system doesn't take into account they can jump off that ledge and get down to you with relative ease. Set up a spawn camp instead grab the Sniper and watch the ledge after your teammates kill some people. Maybe you can get a spawn snipe, I got a few there.:D

I have been killed by too many people spawning behind me inside the base, we just cleared to believe that.

Not sure what map you are talking about.

As I said though, I do have bad spawns on occassion. But they are very rare in BTB, in my experience. I've posted two instances of them here - on on Avalanche when I had team mates spawn into the middle of a fight (instant backup) and the video on Rat's Nest when I used a Ghost to plow through four guys right as they spawned. So they happen. Just very rarely.

heh, sorry, I was talking about Avalanche.

Ah, good. For a moment there I thought there was an overshield on Standoff I'd just never found. :lol

Is this what you're talking about?

The two dudes on the left spawned in to bail me out. (In this case, it worked in my favor.)

That was the only bad spawn I've noticed on Avalanche, though if I sniped more I can see running into it.

I can back Ghaleon up, BTB maps rarely ever have spawning issues. It's the smaller maps (and arena style maps for those Midshit whores) that suffer the most. It's one of the reasons I love BTB, but then Bungie had to go a break the internet so that even 3v3 games lag :(

I did have a lagless 4v4 match on Valhalla last night, it felt so tight and smooth.

You mean Midship. You're Elite matches perfectly:

Yeah the spawns are shitty. It seems to depend on the map and player behavior. But some maps are designed to promote certain behavior that results in bad spawns. IE when players camp the lobby on Containment. Players always spawn on the first level, then the lifts prvoide the most convienant access to the 3rd level, so players take them and get killed, spawning back on the first level. It's an endless circle.

Eveytime I play a match on Highground there are shitty spawns. Every. Time.

I move too far up the hill and the rest of my team arn't
, following orders,
helping me near the beach. So when I'm aiming at some dude on the bridge from the beach and his buddy spawns behind me and I get fucked.

Also when having battles on the beach, near the sniper spawn: It seems like one team gets chosen to spawn at the cliff and one spawns near the AA gun at the back of the map. So say the winning team loses 2 people and the losing team loses all four. The losing team gets all four players spawned at the cliff to take out the remaining 2 that won the battle to begin with. The two people from the winning team that died can't help because they got spawned at the opposite side of the map.

Oh and where is eveyone getting all the info about how spawns work, death points etc. I'd like to read up on that.

For maps like Avalanche, the game doesn't really expect anyone to completely control the enemies' base like Hitler did with Poland. Our group always ends up having a Scorpion on the far left (or right, depending on which base we're controlling), a Banshee and Hornet roaming the sky near their base, two snipers on the enemies' shotgun field and two dudes roaming their Rockets. There's just no choice but to spawn the players where they do, but what gets me is why the game doesn't pick it up in time that spawning outside in that situation is not a good fucking idea. :lol

Pretty much every single time I've died it's been due to a bad spawn. Stupid Bungle. Do better, plz.

This one time I had sniper and all of the sudden this jackass is taking shots at me with his BR and I was all like, "WTF."

Did you really just try and work a hitler metaphor into a game of BTB? :lol

No, you're right, I am TERRIBLE with the sniper.
A few days ago, I decided to give it a shot, so I grabbed the long rifle in the middle of a game on Valhalla. I managed to drain every bullet from the gun without killing anyone, though I landed a few body shots that lead to their subsequent death.

BUT! All my frenzied shooting proved to be a huge distraction and the other team tried to flee the center of the map or flush me out, leading to many deaths. At least, that's what I told myself after someone on my team noted that I "couldn't hit shit". :lol

You and I are too awesome for the sniper. It's the only explanation.

Let me join this club. I was decent with the H2 sniper, but in Halo 3... lolz.

I posted that after WINNING a bullshit game of Team Snipers. Snipers on Standoff is a fucking joke, it's spawn-die-spawn-die-spawn-run to some cover, and then keep killing the people that spawn in your line of fire

Well holy shit, you shoulda told me you won in the first place. Instead of seeing your whiny bitching as the conniption fit of a prepubescent girl, I can finally see it as a post worth reading. I appreciate you going out of your way to clear that up for me.

Wow. Guys.

Halo: Uprising #3 was fucking awesome.

Seriously.

It's one of the best pieces of Halo fiction I've read. Really ground level, smart stuff.

I kind of love it.

*By awesome I mean the sniper is a firery temptress that lures me in with her siren call, only to make me look like a fool. A dirty, dirty fool.
