My team was tearing it up on VIP the other night, going up 6-0. The other team's new VIP took to a hiding place I hadn't seen before.
Looking through the film, he absorbed a brutal grenade jump to get up there. I sat there, debating how to take him out when he was out of line of sight. Nice design, Bungle!
I settled on bouncing plasmas off the spire and onto his head. But before they could land, the tower fires its energy pulse, killing the VIP and putting them in the hole, 6 to -1. Nice design, Bungie!
Also, random observation from matchmaking: I get a kick out of guys who crouch and sneak around to avoid being detected on radar, while not bothering to check their own radar while doing so.

He thought you were upstairs. It's the safest assumption and a high margin call. You accept in those situations that an error may end badly for you. There are few fast options to recover from a crouch anyway in that scenario - you would have had the drop on him regardless.

Heh, Walshy played with Ix Ace xI, a pro who has nearly the same GT as me (that's who stole one of my choices, now I'm stuck with xI Ace xI lol). BTW: I had my gamertag before I even knew this Ace existed.
I was coming in from outside the base. He was walking forward, having started his crouch the moment he passed the door threshold. So until the last moment, when I plugged him, I would have been on his radar, but outside of the base. So he had plenty of time - if he was watching.OuterWorldVoice said:

FB asked elamite because hes friends with strongside, he took 4 days and finally said no, they asked neighbor a few times and he agreed. I don't know the exact terms money wise, but FB has a better track record than Str8, despite their past two tournaments. Neighbor had to think he had a better chance at more firsts with them than that dick T2 on his team. When you're on Final Boss, you're on that team for years and you get consistent firsts. It's a good investment so-to-speak.
As far as I know, Walshy is for sure on Chilled reality and I dont know about Str8s fourth. I do know that no top 4 team would want walshy

Lower rankings (captain lieutenant) more often get matched up with lower rankings.
People start second accounts so they can go back and play the kids they no longer get matched up with because they progressed in the system too far.

Is it just me or is it easier to rank up as time goes on?
Whenever I take long breaks from Halo 3 and come back I always can easily rank up to a certain point. The same case for Halo 2.

How does ranking up affect me or anyone else if I play only (or mostly) unranked Social games? If I played more Ranked games, my rank would go up (or down) as appropriate and the playing field would be level in Ranked games. But in Social, it literally does not matter.xxjuicesxx said:

It's a fair question. But I submit into the mix that the skill sets employed in the different playlists. Were I to go romping in the Ranked playlists, it would be in Lone Wolves, Team Slayer, Team Tactical or SWAT. (Can't get a match these days in RBTB.)xxjuicesxx said:
In Social, I do DLC Objective and BTB. Aside from using the BR at mid-range, I'm decent at that playlist for very different reasons than one is good at the Ranked ones. I'm terrible in a 1:1 shootout, and only middling as part of a small squad. But as part of a large team, I'm a good support player and in objective games am quite often the one planting bombs, grabbing flags or giving rides while others do so. Mostly while making heavy use of vehicles. I submit that effective use of a Ghost in Covies is just as useful as the BR on, say Blackout. And in one of the games I linked to, I was on top due to a 13-kill streak on the Banshee. That does not carry over to most other playlists.
At any rate, I don't feel guilty about playing the kinds of game types that appeal to me. The kind of game that forces me to play stuff I don't like just to even things out in the player mix isn't a game I'd want to play.

Someone posted the original version of that shot and it turned out to be a UT 2003 or 2004 screen later on. I think it was UT 2003 because it happened a long ass time ago.
