Bungie, part of me will die if you sell your soul like this. Then again Bungie already betrayed Apple fanboys before.

Boy, what a day to take a plane trip; today sure is a great day for Xbox 360 fans. Been traveling since 9:15 am EST, got here (Seattle) around 5:00 pm EST. There has been soooo much announced today, it is going to be hard to keep up with the next couple of days. I saw the countdown on Bnet and am so excited! I am still thinking it's an XBLA game. Saw the elite with the Recon helmet, haha.

Edit: Just saw the Halo Wars story trailer. FUCKING AWESOME.
 
It's too bad they can't make a regular FPS game with the same story that Halo Wars will apparently have. Fighting on Harvest would be so awesome.
 
Halo 1 and 2 vet, but no live

and Halo 3 newb just got an xbox 360 last week and LIVE just now

went into some unranked matches, and absolutely tore up, but dont want to jump into any serious stuff cause I dont know any of the levels

whats the best way to get a feel for all the new levels?

i was thinking of just ... local playing, and literally just walking around...

Play Social matches on different playlists.

But yeah, walk around the levels first, so you can learn the weapon spawns (since they usually get picked up pretty quick during matches).

Yeah just play some custom games by yourself and wander around the levels. You'll need someone experienced to play with you if you want to learn the callouts though.

I also like Forge, where I can literally fly around the level and get a feel for the flow from above.
 
I really don't think the "new" spawns on Narrows are any better.

You'll spawn on one side, run up to them middle, kill a guy, and march back down to the area you spawned by to either regroup or re-charge your shields, and what's that? The other team spawned there seconds later?

In my couple experiences that weren't vetoed on that map I came to the conclusion that now those spawns weighted the lowest possible they now constantly spawn behind you. Like if you spawn blue and dominate up top they'll start to spawn blue...when they should spawn red traditionally.
 
My buddy and I got owned on new narrows because we didn't know they moved the rocket spawn :lol

should have taken out the rockets moved the shotgun to rocket spawn and placed the bubble shield down where shotgun used to spawn IMO.

also frag grenades should be taken off the map and leave you with only what you spawn with.
 
I can't stand G4. I downgraded my cable package to get rid of it when they brought on Olivia Munn and re-did AotS to be about booze and chicks. I was just watching Kevin and Olivia interview a Halo Wars dev about the game and I wanted to reach through my computer screen and punch them. Olivia asked "So this is Halo Wars, are all of the same characters returning or just a few or...?" Later, she asked "Now, a lot of these environments look familiar, so I guess some locations are returning from the previous games?" And while some tanks were on the screen Kevin asked "Now tell me what vehicles we have on screen here." A few minutes later he asked if man cannons would be back.

G4 guy: "Are there going to be MAN cannons? I want to shoot my man units on some grunts."

Ensemble Guy: "Umm oh I dunno about that hah.."

G4 guy: "Oh (G4 guy), they didn't have those 20 years ago!!"

Welcome!

Add 'GAF Halo 3' to your friends list, most of us gaffers are in there and you pretty much can always find a game with them in there.

You'll have to use the 'friends of friends' feature.

Don't let it bother you too much, dude. Kevin Pereira was probably all about man cannons even before the term took new meaning in Halo 3. I've never liked that kid, particularly when he went on his uneducated tirade about Crackdown and the Xbox in 2005. The only thing which was ever redeemable about G4 was Geoff Keighley - but even then I had trouble watching it.

Attn: Bungie. Stop trying to save garbage maps like Snowbound and Narrows. Thanks.

Someone asked Alan what sci fi show he’d like to see a crossover episode with him so he said, “Ok, so I’m imagining that Firefly’s still on the air, that’s great, that’s working out and I’m still alive, but we have the sets and the costumes from the movie”. Then he said he’d like Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica, and that he didn’t care if anyone else from BSG was on the show, the crossover could just be her. Alan also mentioned he’d seen her recently and she and Nathan and Adam and he recorded voices for a Halo 3 supplemental and it was like the last time with Nathan having all the leader lines and him having to be scared.

Granted, a lot of the time voice actors and the like don't know exactly what they're recording for or even really involved with. Like that artist a while back whose music got used in a Guitar Hero DLC and he had previously announced that he "was going to be in Guitar Hero IV," or something like that, and people freaked out.

But still...?
 
Seems more and more legit. Especially with Tricia Helfer being name dropped who didn't even record any lines for the original game.
 
The idea of downloadable content for Halo 3's campaign blows my mind. If they've been spending the last year or so adding on to cut levels or perhaps building out encounters and areas they didn't focus on - it could be done.

I hate to raise my expectations or anyone else's for that matter, but "Blue" maybe?

What if they included Halo 3, all of the new maps and a few extra campaign missions in an expansion pack re-release? Who'd buy it?

Well, to be fair, no one likes him. Before the microsoft press conference you could see Morgan and Adam trying to stay as far away from him as possible.
