So, are we going to have an IRC chat this year? Last year was lots of fun, plus I don't want to be in the chat with the other GAF assholes (no offense, GAF assholes!). Watching E3 alone is such a hollow experience, too.

Hope so. Let's just not have everyone muted in the room, other than the mods, when someone decides too many people are talking at once this year, okay fellas? :P

I don't know. I don't even know if it's even happening. Everyone seems to want to do it, but none of us have the leadership skills to take charge. Last year it was only MS, I would assume it would be the same, but I know I'll be watching Sony closely. Nintendo... I'll find out if they show anything in the post-E3 reports. I'm not wasting my time watching their Youtube montages.

I don't recall that happening. But yeah, things got so chaotic, it all blurs together. Plus, there was some discussion that I'm happy to have forgotten. :P

There were IRC chats for all of them. They were a good time. Hope one of those leaders sacks up.

I think they just muted most people, I know I wasn't muted, and I know at least a few other people were talking who were not mods. I think there was multiple IRC chats going though so I may be confused.

i think it is, just because of the maps

that's pretty much one of the only things it has over 3, but hopefully that will change with map packs

That may be true for some, but I don't think that is for the majority. I just got done "arguing" this with someone over whether or not it takes skill to use button combos. He said that's why he hates Halo 3.

BTW, does anyone know when the pro teams are going to come out and start playing? Right now the feed is of a bunch of random teams I've never heard of facing each other and the damn stream keeps buffering every few seconds. I thought it was live?

Yeah, the streaming during the day is really shitty. Don't worry, it'll clear up by tonight though when the actual pro games start at 8:30 EST.

Bungie should give MLG like 10 free accounts with Bungie Pro on them in return for MLG uploading all games played and links available for each tournament...

That way every can download the games and watch them at their leisure and see the setups and whatnot.

That would be awesome.

That's a great idea - I'd love to watch a few of these matches, but let me do it in Halo 3's ACTUAL theater, so I can move the camera around, watch someone snipe, rewind, watch the guy GET sniped, etc.

It's a little hard to spend much time watching Halo 3 live streams or short recorded clips after experiencing some matches again in the real theater.

That would be great, but I don't think the refs even pull all the films as it is. I think they only save the games from one station :(

They should at least sav and shared the championship match and WB/LB finals, and then work from there. I'd love to study the San Diego Instinct/TD LB finals from all players' viewpoints.

MLG VoD There are tonnes of games from all sorts of perspectives on this section
 
Their VOD section is pretty good, but putting up the fileshares would be better.

Is there a complete bracket somewhere? And is there any chance of an Instinct/Triggers Down match, cause that's what I really want to see :lol

Ive watched the Instinct TD games from San Diego from a few pov's. Its crazy some of the things these guys pull off

In all seriousness, the point is that I'm probably about as good as you, and I got my 20 with no problem, and I don't play the game obsessively. I think if you devote a bit of time to one playlist, you'll get it with no problem. You should stop playing LW though, it's no good.

My career stats say this:

Captain, Grade 4
Highest Skill: 19

But you have to be a Skill 20 to be a Captain. My b.net stats have always been one game behind, but I don't want to risk going down a rank just to get it to show reality. :(

There was a link on the front page to a section of VoD that had each round from San Diego which if selected expanded and had POV's for each team. I cant find it now :(

Some of them only had one POV, others had 3 or 4

Put them together and you get "07". I'm expecting him to start posting "KE1P IT CLEAN" then "KEE4 IT CLEAN". 07/14 ;)

well they did take skill imo. ok, maybe not bxb, but the average player couldn't bxr or doubleshot or remember to quick or nade reload well at all if they tried. they weren't really that simple to pull off on anybody that was decent. which is why they worked well at tourneys and mlg games

it really just wasn't fair or fun to have people running around doing it in matchmaking to people who didn't use them or couldn't do them. and really they just got old really fast when every fight involves one. anybody who doesn't like halo 3 because there's no button combos probably just liked running around in team training and the like bxring guests which made them feel cool
 
I can no longer trust the theater.

Something weird happened in one of my Team Slayer games. We were playing on Last Resort. I was trying to kill an opponent who was hiding on the other side one of those huge boxes (the one in the middle, under the Spartan Laser), when suddenly, the box disappears, exposing him. We both are killed from by different people.

After I respawn, my teammate tells me to look at the box. Somehow, a Gravity Lift got under the box and it was floating in mid-air. I take a few seconds to just look and laugh, and then move on. But when I go to the theater to try and figure out what happened, the box is just sitting there. No gravity lift in sight. The theater shows me staring at a motionless box. WTF?
