It always makes me sad that slayer is more popular than objective.

It feels brute-like, nobody wants to think and position and play strategically. Everyone just wants to slay all day long.

It's always been my philosophy that slaying is a skill that should be used ultimately to fulfill some sort of goal. Flag, Bomb, Ball, KotH.

Team Objective is really that good. Although I wish Social Skirmish was more like Team Objective. Having things like Land Grab and Territories have higher weightings than One Flag and Multi Flag makes me a sad panda. :(

EDIT: Just wanted to say how good it feels to be back home <3

Holy shit, look who's back! Good to see you posting again man. :)

I lost all interest in the Halo 3 action figures when I saw the design of Cortana.

Also, what's with Joyride not releasing a Cortana for Halo 2?

Why hasn't there been a decent design/figure since the original? Why do companies feel the need to make stuff rare too?

/rant

I go on another quest today to try to pick up the figures, no one around here seems to have gotten them yet, and most places online are out or charging ridiculous prices. I ordered MC and the Gamestop ODST spartan variant online from them since the only other ODST version is a walmart exclusive color that looks really retarded. I'm not looking to get every single version, just one of each armor type, and and one or two I had from the first batch already. So I'm only looking to get a EOD, a EVA (only one I couldn't find from the first series), and the Scout. We bought all of the covenant figures from the first set, and I kinda regret it. The quality is good the figures themselves, but they're just not as cool and welldone as the spartan figures, so I don't think I'll pick up any of them this time, except maaaybe if I see the Arbiter.

Absolutely nowhere in this fucking town has the figures, it baffles the mind. This morning amazon updated most of the figure pages that were OOS saying they'll be back in stock on the 17th (Thursday), so I just went ahead and ordered the three I was missing from them, with shipping it still worked out cheaper than getting them locally. If I do happen to find them between now and then I can always cancel I guess.

I'm also amazed there's no recon armor in any of the sets (including the 3rd series out in September). They could tell everyone that they're able to get recon now!
for only $12.99!

Holy crap - I'd be interested to see the whole film of that crash. Did the driver get out alive?

(Searching for pickup crashes into gas stations turn up some pretty interesting videos, for what it's worth - just not that one.)

Edit: Never mind, found it. Still pretty hard to tell how bad it is - looks like the camera got smashed, too.

By the time mixed party restrictions were removed, the MLG playlist was out. I much prefer MLG settings for objective games, they feel like a lot more thought has been put into them. Once I'd played MLG Pit Flag, playing Team Objective Multi-Flag on The Pit was incredibly annoying.

The forged maps make a huge difference. Added jumps and removed short-range weapons help. But so do game settings, in particular flag reset/return time. On default Pit CTF, once you get the flag to green box, you've scored. It takes so long to return that it's basically impossible to stop a team from grinding a capture at that point.

Narrows is even worse. It's such an open map that the flag settings really should be on touch return, and flag at home to score, but instead it's just default. If they get it past your sniper spawn/mauler ridge, same thing again, it's a free capture.
That's what I don't get. They allow custom-made maps for MLG to enter the MLG Playlist, and what's that? It works well? Cool. So why not implement some things for Team Objective?

Add more variants (Multi-flag on Snowbound, Neutral Bomb on Standoff, more weights to Bomb and Flag, etc.; spice up the playlist -- by spicing it up, I'm not indicating Ninja CTF [aka brilliance of Ninja 0n Fire]).

I hope the person in that gif didn't get hurt. I get a kick out of gifs like that, but if they involve a person actually getting crushed - no thanks. :(

Please decrease the flag return time. It's ridiculous right now.

Oh boy we stopped their flag in front of their base in Standoff and our whole team is here to defend the flag. Oh look an invis guy just jumped down and touched the flag so now we have to wait another 45 minutes to return it.

Thanks. I feel better for laughing so hard at it. :lol

Someone posted a similar gif in the OT a year ago or so. It...was different.

Yeah when I saw the video it looks like the whole side of the truck just got skinned. Lucky guy. It made me feel less-bad about laughing hysterically too :D

This.

Lots and lots of this.

I really want Team Objective to get a boost in variety of flag and bomb and population too.

I'm on holiday as well till Monday, (Just in time for E3). Weather is beautiful here, just stopped by to say were only 2 million away from finally hitting the big 7.0 Billion kills. Even though were a few days late I think its pretty special. I'm curious to know what our campaign kill count in Halo 2 is currently.

Anywho I hope everyone is having a nice summer and I'll be on soon.

He's on holiday, alive and well. I miss him dearly.

Yeah, I finally got a hold of him last night. He's at his brother's place (he's gotten on once or twice), he said he'll probably be back home Sunday. I think by then I'll have touched everything in his house...intimately.

False advertising! Frank joined Bungie halfway through Halo 2. :p

I'd love to see that panel. Should be really fascinating.
