It would be cool if it was like Alien, distress signal here, we go there to check what's up, 1st contact with the elites or something, blah whatever already sounds like a bad idea.
I'm waiting to be surprised.
Dude you can create your own in Forge. Actually Bungie should release maps that are designed specifically for warthog/mongoose racing. That would be Legendary.tak said:I hope the next Halo game is a Warthog racing gaming.
WrikaWrek said:Can you tell us in what year we are going to see gameplay footage of Halo Chronicles?
Cmon, i'm not even asking for much...
Wingnut Interactive will be working closely with us to create another chapter in the Halo universe, which is a phrase youll be hearing a lot and of course, were sworn to secrecy.
This raises as many questions as it answers will it be a sequel? A prequel? A side-story? We wont squeal, but we can tell you it will be a blend of gameplay and storytelling quite unlike anything the games industry has ever seen before. And Wingnut Interactive isnt stopping at Halo the newly formed gaming behemoth will also be working closely with Microsoft to introduce a brand-new gaming IP created by Wingnut themselves.
Gasp! Does this mean Bungie is distracted from Halo 3? No. In fact the Bungie team, now bigger and better than ever, thunders on down the road to completing Halo 3 and will simply not deviate from that path. A few select team members have been chosen to liaise and interface with Wingnut Interactive and in fact, the sharing of ideas and technology with Wingnut Interactive and to some extent, WETA Digital, will likely bring creative benefits to Bungie as we complete our scheduled march to finish and release Halo 3 in 2007. Thanks to careful planning and good use of resources, these new projects have added not one single day to our schedule.
I think we're doing that last part right now.Is it too much Halo? No. Believe us when we tell you that these projects will be spaced out sensibly and in fact, were sure youll be -blam!-ing soon enough that theres too large a gap between them, but more importantly, we here at Bungie, our friends at Ensemble and our new partners Wingnut Interactive are doing everything in our care to ensure that Halo 3, Halo Wars and the unnamed Halo project live up to the promise and heritage of the universe we all love so much. Its going to be incredible. We promise.
Not the whole first episode. I am talking about the first half-hour so people get a feel for.Cocopjojo said:There is absolutely no way that would happen.
They haven't been working on this for months/a year to end up bundling it with some other game.
Besides, it's Halo; it would idiotic to bundle a Halo game with another Halo game, when you can be positive that people are going to buy them both regardless.
I'd love to see that. Set something back during the first and last battles the Forerunner had with the Flood. Hop to other battles happening in the Halo narrative we know, but were only implied or alluded to.urk said:I think it would be sweet to be dropped into serials set in totally different times. That comic in the Iris ARG introduced some really interesting background as did the terminals within Halo 3. It would be wild to see the Halo universe in small story chunks from all kinds of perspective. Help subdue the Hunters as part of an Elite Commando squad? Yes, please!

Did you just:
1) Watch the credits all of the way through? If so, it's not nearly as bad.
2) Watch the Legendary ending after the credits? If so, then I agree.

I mean you escape form the planet and then everything goes black. All of a sudden you just see a bunch of marines and the arbiter thanking all those who died and randomly the admiral tells the arbiter MC is dead. Like what the fuck?

My pipedream is that Bungie was just leaving that to give fans something to think about, and they aren't making any Halo games.Cocopjojo said:I agree, I think Halo 3's ending should stay as the end, done and dusted.

Relax. With all the development time and new hardware they are putting in their next console the chances of any development studio fucking up the next Halo game are minimal. Not even Gerrilla Games could screw the next Halo.GhaleonEB said:This is very tangental.
I was actually hoping that Bungie killed off the Chief, partly to truly cap his story but also to prevent Microsoft from making another Halo title with him in it. A kind of parting shot to make sure MS can't poison their series with a shit sequel starring Bungie's iconic character. This is part of the reason that I disliked the Legendary ending - it leaves the door wide open for Microsoft to crank out another. Microsoft wanted the IP for a reason, and I suspect that's it - Halo 4 for the launch of the next system. If Bungie makes another Halo title with the Chief, I'll be disappointed, as I want to see a new IP from them. I'd still buy it of course, because I'm a fan of Bungie, and I'd rather they do it than Studio XYZ from Microsoft. But it's one more reason why the lack of closure irks me.

In all honesty, I don't really mind the lack of closure to Master Chief's story. To me Master Chief himself does not really play a role in Halo's story; instead, the story I care about comes from the events that surround him (The Forerunners, The Flood, etc...), he is just a vessel to view and learn about the events in Halo. I realize this might sound crazy, but to me it makes sense.GhaleonEB said:This is very tangental.

Basically, I don't care about how Master Chief is feeling, I care about what is going to be found on the. Personally, I hope we find a bunch of racing tracks for Warthogs. That would be awesome.planet

Yeah, I just don't get it, dude. They actually put the Chief back in the cryo-chamber, so as to end it the way it began. Brilliant. And perfect. And then they're like, "meh, forget that," and they tack on another ending that allows for the Chief to have another grand adventure.GhaleonEB said:Bear in mind, I'm talking about the Legendary tack-on. I have high hopes for the PJ project. No one's been able to make episodic content work yet, but if anyone can do it, it'll be Bungie. With epic budgets and PJ (pretty much the king of epic) they'll be able to do it. And even though folks didn't like Halo 3 for certain reasons (broken melee, campaign needs more epic, etc.), no one can ignore the polish that it had - saved films, Forge, and most important the GUI - pressing X to party up after games, the party system itself (locking a party, invite-only, max party size)... I could go on and on about the features that Bungie has had in Halo 2 and Halo 3. And it's taken the rest of the industry years to finally begin to start catching up.
Ugh. I think I'm actually starting to become genuinely interested in news on this project. I had hoped I would make it a bit longer.

No, and there is no hint as to when they will next talk about it. However, it would be logical to assume if it is going to be released this year they'll talk about it at one of the big gaming events (GDC, E3, or a Microsoft conference).Cap7ain Blood said:there hasn't been any PJ project news since its announcement has there?

Yeah, that has been happening a lot in team doubles. The first time it happens to you it is lame, but once you know where they hide it's easy to kill them, they cannot really do much under there.Buttonbasher said:I'm posting to report an incident of cheating!
TGS (Team Gay Subtext: BBash, Thermite, And SpudBud) decided to return to Halo 3. Our first match (Shotty Snipers on The Pit) was normal until half way in when the other team disappeared! Upon watching the saved film we found they pushed themselves under some stairs when they were a point above! They won the match.

The regular ending is beautiful in its execution, tone, setting and in how it brings the trilogy full circle. The Legendary ending is a cocktease. Yeah, the use has declined, but I've still seen it used once in awhile.
