How is bungie.net surviving the load and not xbox.com? Xbox.com is giving me various errors, but bungie.net is running fine.

Can you skull hunt on co-op without any problems? Do both people get the skulls and do you still get the achievements? How does that work?

Yep no problems, we were able to get every skull (except that last one that no one has yet of course).

Once one player picks it up, the other co-op players automatically get the achievement/unlock.

It is actually easier to do skull hunting in co-op since you can jump on peoples heads etc, and if you screw up a jump and fall below or something you can just kill yourself with a grenade and you'll respawn right by your partner who's in the correct spot.

Yep. One person picks the skull up, both people(or all 4) get the achievement.

They're run seperately. Bungie runs their own back-end servers, IIRC.
I guess I should have made my statement a little more clear. I'm just shocked bungie's servers are running fine and xbox.com's are not. I would think Bungie's servers have to do a lot more work then xbox.com's servers, with stats, films, etc...

Can someone please help me with my Strict NAT error. It just recently started happening ( I used to have it open) but now it's strict :(

I have the common WRT54GL Linksys router and I opened these ports yesterday but still nothing.

Try opening 2074. I think that's a port that needs to be opened as well. Also, make sure that the address it's forwarding to is the same as your Xbox. I also need a bit of help regarding networking. My NAT is open, but I keep getting silky smooth gameplay followed by total dropout/network disconnects. It only happens for a brief amount of time, but it almost always results in my being dropped from the game. I'm on a wireless network on a cable connection. I have a full green bar in regards to my connection to my wireless router, so I have no idea why it's doing this. Anyone know what's going on?

Gotcha. No clue there, especially since one of the reasons for the last Live downtime was to upgrade things in preparation for Halo 3.

I guess I should have been teaming up all this time. Got 6 on my own. :lol

Is anyone finding skulls without a guide? I'm curious how hidden they are and if I have a chance at all of finding them on my own.

On
level 6, on Installation 00
after you meet
the Sentinals attacking the Covenant
, you're supposed to
take out Wraiths ? I think, because I drive in the open sand and meet a pack of Brutes, with a Wraith in the back attacking me, then two anti-air Wraiths behind the initial Wraith I talked about
. It's really pissing me off because
I can't pass this part. I either get killed by the Brute pack in the front, or the Wraith. But if I manage to escape both, there are multiple Grunt turrets next to the anti-air Wraiths killing me

At the begining of the level you start out with a Battle Rifle and a Spartan Laser. There's also another Spartan Laser near a downed Pelican. Personally On Co-op we'd each grab a laser and save it until the part with the vehicles.

Story question: Is this true?

If you finish the game on the hardest setting theres more to the ending. You see MC ship coming to a planet. The planet from space has a huge land mass and lights and citys.

People are saying it's a forerunner city with forerunner life there. As it looks like a "Shield" planet.

I havent finished the game on Legendary yet so Im not sure. I read that on another forum.

I've been downloading vids of their location from bungie on to my 360 and then watching them. I don't know how anyone can really find some of these without a guide.

Set a static IP for your Xbox 360, then use that as the DMZ (opens all ports). That usually works.
So by setting a static IP what do you mean? Do you set the static IP as your xbox's IP or as your router's IP? Sorry, I'm confused by all of this. I am having these same strict NAT problems on my Linksys BEFSX41 router.

I found a bunch on my own. If you look you most probably will find.

Im still after the last 2 sliver skulls... have they been discovered yet?

finished some custom games with some gaffers, pretty fun and chaotic.

VIP was wierd, couldn't tell who was VIP.

I think I might have been the one that held up that last VIP game because after the long ass hold, it boot me out for some reason, that was wierd cause that has never happenned before.

I think there is a faq on how to do make your linksys router work better with xbl...hold on let me try to find it

I just finished it on legendary. Played a few missions more than once. All in all, incredibly lengthy! Haha!

I am SO satisfied. SO satisfied. The last level was UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME.
I fell off
, so I was rooting on my coop partner and my hands were sweating. Oh my god it was so unbelievably awesome.

And the music was fantastic and it was so great :lol

Legendary was tough. Very, very tough. But very worthwhile.

Congrats Bungie.

Awesome levels:
Everything minus 8, particularly 3, 4, 6, 7

Shit levels:
8

A++++

edit:
Could someone tell me why the goal was to fire the rings when we tried desperately to stop Truth from doing it?

GOTY 2007

Heh that's exactly the encounter I described.

Truth wanted to fire the ring array, nuking the entire galaxy. We just set off the first ring, or really, a prototype ring.

The real storyline question is
Why the hell did Gravemind go through the portal? I suppose he was wanting to stop Truth himself, but that doesn't explain why he didn't take a moment's time to infect Earth.

AFAIK we only fired that one ring to rid the flood. My question: Why did it look exactly like the ring from Halo 1?

It was a replacement for Installation 04.

oh my god at frankie's message in the credits :lol :lol :lol

Has anyone used the AV Calibration tool?

For the video, when doing the Hue/Saturation part I can never get the Cortana figure to go completely blue. The best I was able to do is put Saturation all the way to the top and it still doesn't go complete blue.

I have a Westinghouse 27" HDTV.

Anyone else getting insane amount of Shotty/Snipers when trying to play Team Slayer? I can't stand that stuff, but I love Team Slayer. I got it four times in a row today. =/

omg the ending makes me so pleased

i am so satisfied

i need a cigarette

and luke, what's your message mean?

Coruscant.

Yep that was awesome. So you saw the special Legendary ending?

I did. I honestly was so
sad
after the main ending, and then
I felt so much better.

soooo....

halo 3.....

pretttyyyyy goooodddd

is there anyway to re-watch the cinematics you've seen? I beat the game but couldn't stay until after the credits (was late for something), so I missed whatever was after. If I "resume" my solo game, i'm like 1.5 hour back, and I'd really rather not go through it all again right now..

I had the exact same emotions myself.

Like I said yesterday Im really annoyed that Bungie made it so yo had to wait until the credits roll before seeing those ending cinematics. So many will miss it.

There are permanent checkpoints midlevel, you can start the last one
after you kill Spark
, wouldn't be that long to the end from there.

Beginning with the release of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001, the franchise has since expanded to several other games, five novels, several graphic novels, and numerous other licensed products, such as action figures. The cultural impact of the Halo series has been compared to that of the Star Wars franchise by Brian Bendis,[5] with those who enjoy the series being dubbed the "Halo Nation".[6][7] The final game in the original trilogy, Halo 3, is due to be released on 25th, 26th, 27th September 2007 Worldwide.

Ok so my day of Halo 3 has ended.

So happy with it.

Started with a bud & me going down to Gamestation (UK) to pick it up and finding they had a bunch of 360s hooked up to play while waiting, loving the geek out and the place was rammed.

Won the multiplayer and decided to get a Ledgendary in the heat of the moment as someone canceled and I had first dibs.

Then got back played a few hours on Heroic and then finished the rest today.

I loved it, I'll be hitting the online hard now but needed to go through it first to dodgey the spoilers.

Anyway the two parts Im got stuck on for so so long were

3rd Level where I had to get on a road and there was three tanks 4 choppers beween me and it, no good ammo too, then level 8 where the flood were endless I HATE THE TURRET TRANSFORMING FLOOD WITH EVERY INCH OF MY BEING!

Had a little dabble in some online and pretty much every game, forge, theater & co-op mode but saving its goodness for tomorrow and well most nights there after :D

Took some nice pics to a air beat down on Besada too, just waiting for them to show up on my profile :D

Someone explain something about the ending to me...

How did the Arbiter make it back, but Chief is left on the ship? I saw the Arbiter get into a cockpit, did he fly off in something and leave him or what?
:lol

The ship they were on got ripped in half, with the chief in the rear and Arby up front. You can see he crashes into the ocean with only a part of the ship. They got ripped apart in the portal, Cortana kinda suggests that they think the Arbiter died too.

Where is that? All I have on my main menu is "Resume solo game"

they were on the same ship, the portal closed while it was part of the way through

the ship broke apart. The half with the arbiter made it all the way back to earth. The part with the chief and cortana exited out in some random location.
