For shame. I always though she was the weakest link in the cast. Big Ezri fan here.
As for the link: "You do not have access to view this page."

You should bring back Garak, the Sophie obsession is getting a bit creepy. ;)

The bickering in this thread is mind-numbing. Can't we all just focus on what's really important?
Halo

Replayed the last level of 3 again last night for fun. The lack of the real Cortana in your head for most of the game is highly disappointing. I loved all of her sarcastic comments and quips in the previous games. I'm tempted to go back and replay 1 and 2 again, but the lack of bumper jumper controls poses a problem.

anybody down for some Team Slayer? Maybe not tonight, but tomorrow possibly. Backflip likes to ignore me when I send him game invites.

Got back up to my 46 today in TS, and am feelin' good about my chances on a 47 soon, but up this high in level I'd rather do it with a team rather than going at it alone.
Ah, sorry bro. Whenever I've gotten an invite from you as of late, I've been on a run of high level snipers or MLG with my brother. If I'm playing alone or with other Gaffers, then I'll definitely throw you an invite.

What's funny is that for all the crap that this forum/thread talks about the immature people on B.net; the vast majority of you resorted to the same asinine bullshit that they did/do. How pathetic. It's not like I haven' seen this crap for the past 5 years. Soooo creative. Not that I'd expect much after having to read your posts for the past six months. If it wasn't for Voc and Cocop I could have just skimmed the H3 forum and got the exact same terrible logic arguments but without the cretinous elitist attitudes that I got from reading this thread.

I joined because for as much as this forums says they are different than Bungie.net I was hoping it was true. I was hoping that people on a forum wouldn't resort to the same bad behavior that I see every day on B.net. However, from how this thread went for the past 2pages, it didn't seem like it is any different.

Prove me wrong. Please.

I don't understand - you didn't expect much after reading this thread for the past 6 months, yet you were still hoping that it wasn't what you personally saw? But somehow JUST the past 2 pages reconfirmed your initial impression?

Just give it up, man. If you want to be a part of a community, the best thing isn't to come right out and say "you are all a bunch of twats, prove me wrong". You either like it or you love it. If you don't, then really, do as EazyB said, GTFO.

No one wants you to be part of any community if you act like that.

Now fall in line, sir:
- get rid of your idiotic signature (don't get so miffed that people don't like it, and who the hell cares what you did at the B.net forums? This ain't it.)
- don't act like you're somehow better than everyone here (because if you were, then why do you want so badly to be part of it?)
- just try to be nicer. There are a lot of jokes flying around but acting "holier than thou" isn't going to get you many friends.

Btw, SWAT still pisses me off when everyone chooses the stupid dinosaurs. And ShWATguns, while initially amusing when it first came out, is a piece of shit gametype. Especially on Tundra, never again please.

And why isn't the Bungie vs. World playlist a regular yet? I needs me some matchmaking on Forged maps.

The link is fixed, and I only use Sophie for avatars!

How would you rank the books so far? I haven't read them in awhile, but I know my three favorites are Contact Harvest, Ghosts of Onyx, and The Fall of Reach.

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but it's pretty funny, especially the ending: Don't Hate the Dino.

Because I've seen this thread produce some very interesting conversations. Take for example when Sandbox was still unknown. This thread produced theories (which were later confirmed) about the blue grid for Forge, that Sandbox would be multi-leveled, things like that. Not only were these "theories" correct, but even before they were confirmed they were argued and supported with such evidence that even if they had turned out incorrect, I was still impressed. Unfortunately you don't get much of that on other sites and it died off on B.net quite a while ago.

However, at the same time I've seen this thread delve to some pretty low areas. The majority of the things pointed at Dax are pretty deplorable. And I understand that part of it is just merely being sardonic by this point, but really, just let some things go. I don't agree with everything Dax says, even though we share the same basic ideology on starting weapons in Halo, but I'd much rather see people agree to disagree.

Now fall in line, sir:
- get rid of your idiotic signature (don't get so miffed that people don't like it, and who the hell cares what you did at the B.net forums? This ain't it.)

I honestly couldn't care less if people felt the desire to mock my signature. It doesn't bother me in the least. Like I said previously, I find it funny when people do. Because it's nothing new and nothing I haven't seen for years on end. And I must have missed where I said I was better than everyone else. I've said that some of the argument that have taken place in this thread were poor. Which is true. But if I genuinely wasn't interested in what people had to say over here, I wouldn't have signed up, and especially wouldn't have waited 6 months for my account to be approved.

I especially liked during the pre-release of the Mythic Map Pack. I downloaded Easy's remake of Wizard/Warlock and played that constantly during the lead-up to the Mythic release. Same thing with some of the other maps put out via this thread at the time.

And why isn't the Bungie vs. World playlist a regular yet? I needs me some matchmaking on Forged maps.

Shishka has said that they are planning on doing another Community playlist coming up in August. He's taking submissions in ATLAS now if you have something you want considered.

Ugh, tell me about it. The worst is going back, playing 1 & 2, getting used to their control schemes all over again, then trying to play customs or MM in H3. It's like watching a glass of water fall off the table.

That was actually Bladed's remake of Warlock, not Eazy's, called Mage. Eazy remade Beaver Creek (BerBer Creek).

Heh - I played a couple of levels of Halo last week (PoA and Halo - well, half of Halo), and I wasn't really getting comfortable with the whole reload-on-X thing until the end of the session... and then I jumped into matchmaking and kept deploying equipment instead of reloading. Sort of shitty when you're out of bullets AND sitting in a power drainer!

Ah, thanks. I downloaded pretty much all of them early on. Maybe I associated Eazy with it because didn't he make a post consolidating all of them (the links to the maps) into one single post. Could be wrong.

Good map Bladed. Should send it to ATLAS and see what they think (even though it had some exploitable areas). Definitely better than Colannade! :lol

Edit:

Also, omg we have the same car... Yours appears to be a year newer then mine though... I believe mine is a '08... The grill on yours just looks a lot different then mine.

How do you like it, have you had any problems at all?

Devin, are you the guy from HBO that just before Halo 2's release came on their forum to say 'fuck it I'm going to play the pirate french version so I can play early', who got banned for a while?

After thinking about the H3 v. H2 campaigns, I really think that I had more fun in the H2 campaign than in 3's. Perhaps it just the grey-tinged glasses of expectation speaking in regards to what I had hoped for in H3. Or maybe it's the rose-tinged glasses of nostalgia speaking here.

Probably I'm wearing coke-bottle thick nostalgia glasses with those
amazingly stylish
clip-on expectation shades that you flip up.

Either way I need to bust up some ghosts on a bridge in New Mombasa again.

I usually beat campaigns before doing multiplayer.

(Except for PS3 games and Red Faction, so far.)

Can't wait for ODST... and someone please enlighten me, but was ODST confirmed to have campaign co-op with 4 players? Or did that just turn into Firefight mode? I can't remember either way.

I got it in January of this year as an early graduation present (I start my senior year of high school in August). I love it, and as I said before: sync is awesome.

Yes: co-op campaign for up to four players.

Indeed. Getting her back made me realize how much I missed what she added to the games, but then you only get to keep her for the second bad level of the game.
Chief's cutesy interactions with Cortana were the only bits of the games where you could feel that there's an actual character inside the green tin can.
Even though the cutscene in which you get Cortana back was broken as far as storytelling goes, "I was gonna shoot my way out. Mix things up a little." made me think for the first time that Halo IS a pretty cool guy. In addition to killing aleins and doesn't afraiding of anything.
It's ironic how much bigger the cast of Halo 3 is, compared to Halo:CE, yet the game feels as empty as the original, if not more.

I only just started Contact Harvest, but I can already tell it's going to be my favorite. The writing is much nicer, the action is actually exciting and I love AI, Covenant drama. And Engineers!
I really liked The Fall of Reach for its importance to the canon, but First Strike was a mixed bag.
The way it started was awful, it referenced Combat Evolved in really amateurish ways, repeating lines and scenes from the game. It felt like a fanfic at times and in the end (even after the writing improved) felt kind of pointless, could have been half as long and still set up all the stuff that needed to be in place for the sequel (I'm assuming).

Is anyone else tired of overloaded engines and general blowing up stuff to blow up even bigger stuff? It's like people (and holographic ladies) can only come up with one type of plan in this universe.

I recently played through all 3 games again and I can't share that sentiment at all. In some ways Halo 2 is my favorite (Arbiter!), but the balance of the game is out of whack. The snowy Flood levels are extremely frustrating on Heroic. When I got back to Halo 3, it felt like I chose Easy by accident.
Then I played most of Halo 3 without using vehicles and had the most fun Tsavo Highway run ever. God, the wraith battle is fantastic on foot.

Then you're in good company. I think Contact Harvest is the favorite among Voc, Coco, and Ghal (correct me if I'm wrong, guys!).

Ah, gotcha. Sorry to hear that it won't be making it past ATLAS scrutiny. Ever play the Halo 2 version of "Dodgeball"? 2 Teams Oddball, ball carrier is wicked fast, has increased jump, and you spawn with Brute Shots? It was a Team Actionsack gametype in Halo 2. We played it on Mage and it was wonderful!! Made my inner-child do a barrel roll!

Wouldn't mind seeing Mage make it into H3's Actionsack. Because if you're really going to complain that people can break a map in Actionsack, I think you're doing it wrong.

Just thought I'd post and say that I enjoyed the map.

From what I've heard, you can play the campaign with 4 people. It'll be interesting to see if you're characters will look different from each other or will go back to the H1/H2/same dude scenario. I hope it'll be the former.

Yeah, he has 2 BRs hanging up behind him. One looks like an early model and the one under it looks finished. Pretty impressive. I love that he made the slide work on the M6G one. I'm sure the Bungie dudes will get a kick out of it. If anything WETA should hire him! :lol

H2's campaign was by far my least played. I played through CE so many time I couldn't pretend to know. At least once a week my friends and I would get together and play co-op, either through the whole game, or do Halo, Truth and Reconciliation, Silent Cartographer, or AotCR runs. We played some MP every once and a while and hopped onto XBC with my 56k dialup but for the most part it was o-op campaign all the time.

H2 came out and I thought I'd play through the entire campaign and then hop online. Got sorta tired of the campaign half-way through, went online for quite a while, wrapped up the campaign some time later. I maybe played through the entire game once more after that. There are many levels of H2 that I've completely forgotten they existed and aspects of the story that have since slipped my mind.

The funny thing is, like you, I would boot up the H2 campaign every once and while but just to play Outskirts and hop around the rooftops. Some times I'd complete the rest of the level.

H3 was a complete letdown story-wise for me, but the levels are much more entertaining. I've probably played through Halo 3 a good ten times and some of the finer levels (The Covenant, Sierra 117, Floodgate) many times. Some of it has to do with the inclusion of 4 player online co-op adding much to the cooperative experience but I believe the level design is much better than 2's. It still doesn't hold a candle to CE's open levels but 2's campaign is completely forgettable in my opinion.

THIS

so i guess what it comes down to is that, for me, my best moment of H2 was better than anything in H3. But, I do agree that overall H3 was the more evenly enjoyable experience from start to finish.

I guess that really highlights the difference between "fun" and "enjoyment" and how they are not always one and the same. Hopefully ODST provides me the kind of fun situations that I enjoyed in H2 with the more balanced (and enjoyable) gameplay of H3. or something.

It really has nothing to do with what most would constitute "trolling" (ie posting something to get a reaction). Like I said, I've been doing it since I've been on B.net and HBO. Now, it's more second nature than actually thinking about typing it. As for the second part, as you can tell from the past 4 pages, I don't really need a "schtick" to make myself more memorable
You should really stop doing that. Constantly stating that you are from Bnet is definately not a plus to your rep on this forum. You claim to have lurked here for a while, you should know this.
