Okay, I linked to the EFnet server list. Pick any server that seems to correspond with your area. For example, I use irc.eversible.com because the servers located right here in Miami, FL. Go into your IRC client's server list and added the server you selected and use the connect option in the client. Then its just a matter of joining the #bungie channel by typing /join #bungie. (I figure that you know that last part, Ghaleon. I just added it for anyone else who might not be familar with IRC.)

Trying to poke Coco to set it back up after I quit, just don't want to unless there is someone around (my terminal irc windows are all over the place and would have trouble knowing which window was what server).
Edit: Bolted & left it in BlueBlur's hands :D

It could have been worse but I kind of agree. The bottom 'basement' area was really off and there were no gravlifts in place of the airlifts.

Heh. I've done IRC channels exactly twice, ever. The E3 HaloGAF IRC channel in 2007, and again last year. Both times it took ages for me to figure out.

For instance, I don't even have an "IRC client" - I un-installed after last year's E3 was over - and am not even sure where to get one.

Well, there's IceChat which I use. If you use Firefox as your browser, there's an add-on called ChatZilla which you can use. There's also mIRC but I haven't used it in years. The last time I used it I remember not liking it because it wasn't very user friendly.

if anyone is using a mac colloquy is easy to use

I just realized that I'll be at work during the conference. And my work computer wouldn't do IRC last year. So I won't even try this year. I'll stick to the various GAF threads. Thanks though.

IRC always turns into a bit of a clusterfuck anyways.
 
How is the Halo3 these days? I've been absent for at least a couple weeks. I try and play it and then get ticked off, and leave for a period of time. If people are doing squad battle I'd join in. Just don't let me play Halo3 by myself...ever. I even reactivated my WoW account. I experience a fraction of the stress dinking around in Azeroth for months, compared to an hour of Halo3. Bring Halo:CE to xboxlive plz and announce it tomorrow :P

I'm using Xchat, it's nice and simple/fast. There's a redonculous amount of people in there right now. It scares me. I'm so used to the old country IRC, where everyone knew each other's name. Now it's like Im in the Big Apple.

Another day, another bit of progress. About 75% done now - need to do the landing zones, some ramps and some cover elements around the edges.

Tomorrow - make that today - is going to be a good day. Something in the air.

Lookin' great. I'll be in school when the conference starts, but hopefully I'll be able to tune in with at least the chat because I'll be in my scientific and technical visualization class (computer access!).

Yes I had to wake up really early to do my Media studies A level exam. Education sometimes does seem to get in the way of the important things in life.

Yeah, my only concern is the lack of choppers and for some reason if looks like the two leading obelisks on the red side are further forward than the blue side.

It's the perspective. The oblisks/platforms are centered. And that dot up on the dunes in the distance, to the left? Chopper. Dosn't have a home yet, but it's about to be built. :p

I made some feature articles and did pretty well on my exam this morning. I got an A in my coursework so I hope I can get a solid grade.

In anticipation for this rumoured Reach announcement I have resumed reading The Fall of Reach which i started some time ago. The amount of backstory described in the book really does help flesh out the Halo universe, even stuff like the MC's first encounter with the Hunters and the Prophets. I do hope the reach game follows the book itself as I would like to see the battle at Cote d Azur and perhaps play as a marine on the planet under the initial invasion.

God I really need my Xbox back from Microsoft.

Right click anywhere in the Favorite Servers list on the left. Then click on Add New Server and plug in the server address Example: irc.eversible.com and just keep clicking next. If you don't automatically connect after adding it to the list, right click the server you entered and click Connect.

Okay, I do that and get this in a loop:

[10:19] ->> Goto http://www.icechat.net/socket for more Socket Error Information
[10:19] ->> Connection closed from irc.eversible.com

At what point, and where, do I tell it to find #bungie? And how do I log onto that?

Too much work, install mIRC (contrary to gafs belief its the easiest)

in status window type /server irc.efnet.ch

then type /join #bungie

windows will popup too

you'll be in in no time.
