It's just funny to see someone say things like hold up in a building to defend - like this must be how a horde mode must always be played... and "wouldnt have replayability or change much" - which describes nothing Bungie has ever done with any multiplayer mode (always has tons of replayabilty and user controlled options for variety/depth)... all for something that is totally made-up and speculated on totally abstractly with no details given by myself.

The constant negativity in this thread is really getting to absurd levels.

I doubt it will be download though since there hasn't been a physical release of any of the DLC yet. This will essentially be just like the Halo 2 MP disc, but it will have the added ODST campaign as a "bonus."

That map pack disc was exactly that, just the maps. ODST will have Halo 3 Multiplayer. It's different in that regard.
 
Guys I'm starting to get back into H3 after a year hiatus. Sure it may be because I don't wan't to get burnt out on the COD franchise before the next installment hits in November but I have a question.
I'm currently downloading all DLC maps and was wondering if/when the Legendary map pack was going to be free? I don't mind paying for it but I don't want to do so if it's becoming free on the 9th when the Mythic map pak releases.

They've said again and again that there are no plans to make it free. It could happen when ODST drops but Bungie/MS have never so much as hinted that would be the case.

I guess you might want to wait until Thursday to be sure, but as swander pointed out, they have repeatedly said that there are no plans to make them free. If it was up to Bungie, they would surely be free by now, but unfortunately their hands are tied.

As others have already mentioned, there aren't any plans to make it free. It WILL be included in the ODST package - but I don't know if it'll be available for free for those not buying ODST even at that point.

its not really a big quit fest. there are still those games but most are fun. i am also a fan of big team if you want send a fr to vhfive. also we play customs sat night and i have found that to be more fun than matchmaking
 
Wow, I just realized that the Legendary maps don't have free release date. Such BS. The stagnant state of the MM playlists is bad enough without Bungie being able to require maps that have been out for almost a year.

I'm not sure if you're implying that I was being negative about anything except horde mode (which is nothing more than Gears 2's survival mode, if it's something else, it isn't horde mode). And I'm not sure why Striker said I was being negative about Bungie's ideas when they haven't even revealed anything about the campaign let alone the extra MP modes. I'm assuming he was tellin a joke.

And I agree, Bungie wouldn't implement something gimmicky with little replay value, and that's why I argued against the possibility of seeing a horde mode. I was thinking something along the lines of L4D (get from point A to B with dynamic enemy spawns or different checkpoints). And now that I think of it, it'd be awesome if the mode similar to KZ2's Warzone in that there'd be dynamically changing objectives like 3 plots, vip, assault, and survival all making use of the hub world.

Aww shit, looks like I'm gunna have to buy my first 360 theme. I feel dirty but seeing a chopper everytime I boot up my 360 is too much to resist. It's a shame those heritic elites are wearing God awful helmets but you can't expect perfection I suppose.

Im convinced bungie does not want me to get the 7 on the 7th achievement. I just played 10 straight games (lost all but 1) and got atrocious teamates for every single game. I cant even attempt to carry them they give up so many deaths. Its hopeless.
 
I decided to play some Halo 3 just now. 7 on the 7th then decided I should play Team Splockets. Not my idea of fun. No, sir.

Someone needs to step the fuck up. Everyone could send them clips and that person could try their best and be a hero.

Problem is a bunch of different captures from different people would result in inconsistent quality and the likes...so one person would have to do all the captures...even if they dont do the editing.

My capture card can't really do high quality captures...it cost 5 dollars on Newegg, no lie.

I can get a pretty good quality capture but the software I'm using is terrible. It wont capture without black bars top and bottom (hence my Youtube vids being in a black border). Currently working on another solution.

As for capturing and not editing...it would be kind of tricky to transfer the captured videos and get them to somebody else to edit. I wouldn't mind doing both (I have the spare time) but its still gonna take a while.
 
Me and a friend have been trying to get some good btb games in, but we've found it cant be quite difficult with just the two of us. So if anyone is on tonight and wants to do btb, Ill definitely be on and looking for some more people to play with.

I should already be on the GAF Halo 3 friends list.

yea I'm having the same problem, I can't capture in wide screen. I might be able to soon though as I'm getting a amplified VGA splitter. We'll see how that goes though : /

My problem is being in PAL land theres only certain types of software you can use that will detect the incoming signal (even then you need AmCap to do some fiddling about to convert it to colour). Its a major ball-ache! The only software I can find so far that works is Pinnacle Studio 12 which is just awful. The options are limited and even though I choose 16:9 it still insists on letterboxing what looks like a 4:3 image. No matter what setting I use its pretty much the same.

I still like the quality I can get even after compressing the raw avi to WMV9. Even the Youtube HQ looks pretty good. Quite surprising really.

Yeah that was me, It was a while back. I was bored at work and decided to edit one of my old old clips :)

Edit: There are a few more videos up there, I can edit as well. I just have to find the time. If any of you guys want to have a shot captured/edited just recommend the clip to me over xbox live. Gamertag : Gouglas.

I dont know if I have time to make a full 3 minute plus montage, but i would be more than happy to do a 5-15 second clip :)
 
As for this GAF-tage, I could record clips, but mah editing skillz are weak yo.

Just saw the Mythic trailer... oh wow. :lol

ps: Is that what the 5min clips were for? If so, I'm not sure why they desired 5min clips. :S
 
damn pookaki, that's sick. The video is in HD also :D ...I don't know about you guys but if we have a 3-4 minute montage everyone would have like a 10 seconds worth of clips. We should do an epic 15 minute montage. We're HaloGAF, it's the only way.

I would help if i wasn't swamped to my neck is pussy school work but clips are the easiest part of a montage. Anything can be made to look good it's just the editing that is hard.

but yo, let's do this shit. I'll help out. Let's get this ball rollin, if you have good clips put them in your file share. So who's going to capture and edit? pookaki said he doesn't have time to make an epic montage so HD is out. I can capture in pretty good quality as I'm sure Kibbles and Bladed can as well. haha i love halo2.` i would intentionally tell people to load up my warthog in the beginning of the game and drive off the cliff. god, without standbye and cheating that game would've been epic.
