I would tear asses apart if I had a chopper on Standoff.

I know you have a hard on for choppers eazyb but I just don't think a chopper is maneuverable enough for the tight quarters of standoff. Yea you might be able to get some kills around the silos but I think that is about it. I would be just fine with showing you how much you would die in a chopper though I am starting to miss the good old halo days. With all these games coming out halo has definitely suffered

I think its just a case of "too many games to play" syndrome. I know I've been visiting the Fable II thread and the Far Cry 2 thread these past few days. Of course I can't talk for anyone else...

Halo 3 is nearing it's low point... It's history repeating itself with Halo 2. Halo3 has been out for over a year now and most all has been discussed at least 10x over.

No new maps and a flood of new games takes over while we all await for the new maps to be released in 2009.

Solution for me: Remove friends not playing Halo3 from my friends list and add friends of friends who are still playing Halo3. :lol

This is probably just a slow period. If this thread gets more than a few posts a day between now and prior to Mythic maps' release I'll be surprised. There's nothing to be excited about.

Currently obsessed with US election, hoarding clips for when the covert to video feature goes live, and working my way through Halo 2 campaign for the first time with my daughter.

I also apparantly freaked people out at PAX, since I haven't played with anyone from GAF (the Annual achievement aside) since then, so I've been playing less and less since pure matchmaking is hit or miss.

I'll probably be off Halo 3 for a couple weeks due to Fable II and the election. I'll be back when the convert to video goes live though - got some "incidents" to share.

I have pure, unbridled rage at Microsoft for (apparently) holding back both the Mythic maps and other maps so they can ship with Recon in a year. Like, really fucking pissed off.

Yea but you can't use your character you have to use a henchmen, but all the money and experience you receive from being the henchmen goes to your main character so it just isn't your look. Honestly the orb system in this game is probably the best feature in a game since saved films imo. It is crazy randomly seeing friends and getting to talk to them just running around the world, or just talking to people around you.

I only got the regular edition so no halo armor for me

I wish my excuse for not playing Halo 3 for hours on end was due to playing other games, but the sad reality is I hardly have time or money for any games. Too much shit to do. ;(

Yeah, I haven't been posting recently because, frankly, there's not been much to post about. Even when the thread was rolling along, I wasn't very happy with the way it was rolling along, but I tried to hold my breath so as to not appear hypocritical.

But like most people, I've found myself busy with other games, and like Ghaleon I'm busy with RL stuff and I'm pissed about the lack of maps. I can't describe for you how bland and stale Halo 3's multiplayer feels to me right now. When you compare the Halo 2 experience 13 months after its' launch and Halo 3 now, it's unbelievable how much more fun Halo 2 was. And to top it all off, I wasted my money on three maps that rarely show up in matchmaking, and will likely continue to do so for quite awhile.

So basically, I'm fed up. Outside of when my friends IRL ask me to play, I don't play Halo 3 anymore, and to be honest, I have no plans to buy the Mythic maps when they come out, knowing that I'll get them in Recon, and they're likely to be as much of a rip-off as the Legendary maps. I'm not blaming Bungie, I'm sure that this isn't all Bungie's fault, that they'd rather have it differently, etc, but I'm just fed up all around; which is why, to be honest, I was a bit sad when Halo 3 was the #1 XBL game this week. I wish people would send MS the message that they're tired of this bullshit.

I also had this other wild idea for a gametype.

I call it: 3 Plots.

It's like Battlefield's Conquest mode. There are three to five territories on the map, and when a team captures a territory, they get a point per second. So if they control a majority of the territories, they get more points per second than the other team. The losing team can counter this by taking back territories and capturing the winning team's territories, thereby turning the tables and getting more points per second than the other team!

Yup, I know matchmaking strives to get a close match, but sometimes I wish it was just like COD4, just set the number of people in a needed match and go with it...I know the last few times we've tried SB, we've spent 95% of the time in the lobby and 5% actually playing. :lol

I think this has already been mentioned as something that might be returning at some point, but my memory is terrible, so: bring back Team ActionSack plz. It was so fun in Halo 2.

I thought my Valentines Massacre idea was good, but I got nothing for Thanksgiving outside of shotguns. There should definitely be shotguns.

I was trucking the rocket launcher, moving back from the shotgun cave over the man cannon. I see a blip on the radar, leap around the corner, fire a rawket - bulls eye.

But someone else gets the kill. I look around. No one. WTF?

Saved film time. An intrepid team mate was lurking in the same bend, also with a racket lawn chair. He was cloaked in active camo, and leaped just behind me, firing his rocket a split second sooner. His hit first. After the kill, he cloaked and crouched again, and I didn't spot him.

I would have to agree with what is in bold. The shotgun is my second favorite weapon in the game, but when it comes to shotgun vs. shotgun matches, I always seem to lose the majority of the time even though I fire first. Get's me blood boiling...

Need I remind what happened last time I used a rocket on Avalanche. Lemme just say... shit... went... down.

For Thanksgiving weekend dbl exp. Infection but its Hunters vs Turkeys. Hunters have shotguns and a rifle (sniper rifle). Last turkey standing gets +10 points. Turkeys are frightened animals and do not have weapons or damage. 8 player FFA. This means the last turkeys almost automatically win, if I did my math right. 2 zombie start (hunter) 6 turkeys 3 rounds. Anyways yea thats all I could think of right now, too tired. Hunters dont have a sensor , turkeys do. so its harder for hunters to find the turkeys than the other way around.

make the turkey a little faster than the hunter.

Force colors and whatnot orange and black for thanksgiving colors.

Empty Foundry with a bunch of flamey's in the middle. And beam rifles.
Actually, I'd much enjoy that one gametype where only sticks and melee's count, they did it for a humpday once but I forgot what they referred to it as (nades n' spades perhaps?).

I agree that the shotgun is a crapshoot. But IMHO its 100x better than the one in Halo 2, which was affectionately nicknamed the lottery gun. In Halo 2 you could chase a guy and shoot him 4 or 5 times, and he could turn around and kill you in one shot. The easiest way to find who was host was to see who had 15 more kills in the FFA shotgun game .
