Seriously how the fuck are you guys getting spoiled? If i see something that looks close to a campaign cutscene im shutting it down, if i see a sentence that even hints towards any halo 3 story related info im not gonna even think about reading it.

I won't say where the ending was spoiled for me, but if you dont want it spoiled for yourselves stay off the internet. Period. Even though the ending has been spoiled for me it doesn't matter. It's all in how I get there thats important. So as long as new levels are not revealed I'm ok. Something told me to stay off. Just warning you guys again STAY OFF THE INTERNET IF YOU DON"T WANT THE ENDING SPOILED FOR YOU AS IT WAS FOR ME.

i hope you are right, but i think it was true :(
Do what I did 3 years ago when I read fake spoilers for Halo 2 on GameFAQs... do everything possible to get your mind off Halo 3 for the next few hours (or the rest of the day) and the spoilers will be gone from memory. It worked for me when I spent the rest of that day offline.

it was just one sentence on gametrailers, i had no chance skipping or closing it.

Same thing I thought. Some bastard snuck in the god damned ending in another forum I was in. The shit wasn't even related to Halo 3. He didn't show anything but he did write it. Don't know if its true but I beleive him.

I wish. The shit is like losing your virginity. No matter what you do you can't forget it. Once its done its done. Good or bad.

the guys in the gametrailers forum are a bit pissed...

its ok, i know what happens but not how.
i still can enjoy the game...

stinkles, luke talk to me!
i still will enjoy halo 3, right?

Rumors floating around indicate Halo 3 scored 10 in Edge's next issue.
(and Metroid Prime 3 scored 7 among the others).
Source has been right before, but i don't have proofs this time, so take it as a rumor : )

Well yeah, you won't completely forget the spoiler. A month after I finished Halo 2 I did remember the fake spoiler, but it never did any harm. For anyone who has had something spoiled for them, I recommend staying off the internet for the next week, avoid any thought on the game and preoccupying themselves with stuff in RL. That will serve them best.

Halo 2's ending was spoiled for me also. Still enjoyed the game. Its what happens in between that matters and luckily that wasn't spoiled for me. Not excusing these dipshits who got the game early and decided to leak shit. Also on a strange note, kinda glad Halo2 ending was leaked though. I would have been pissed thinking it was more then finding out that was it.

Interesting, anyone know when Edge comes out?

10 days until Edge hits the stores, (27th Sept official street date) though subscribers might get it a few days before. If it gets a 10 in Edge though....meltdown.

So what happened with this gametrailers leak? Some douchebag make a thread with spoilers in the title? Just before BioShock got released some tard on the Gamespot game profile page made a comment about what happened at the end. Luckily he turned out to be completely wrong about what happened, just some annoying troll out to ruin people's enjoyment. This could be another case like that one.
Though really people, stay off unknown boards/websites/comments page and don't go looking for anything game related on YouTube. I hope no-one starts a "rickroll/ChiefRolling" youtube meme, getting people to watch the ending without realising it.

So is the ending up for legitimate discussion, or for the rest of the members should I keep my mouth shut?

(If I do post spoilers they will have spoiler tags)

I think I'll limit the internet to GAF in the next couple of days, for TGS too and all... So I hope this place will be safe

I got spoiled too. Someone sent me an IM with the ending in it, before I realized what it was I had already read it.

From what I was told, it sounded fucking awesome.

Is it possible for GAFmods to delete an entire post? Just incase these dumbasses decide to post it here and ruin it for the rest.

Its possible, however there will inevitably be a delay from time of posting to time of deletion, since the mods can't be everywhere at once, so there will always be a few people caught out if that happens.
I fear for some junior (not just here, other forums I frequent) who signs up just to ruin the entire game for people.

Thats exactly how it happened to me. And also agree about it sounding fucking awesome. Just imagine how much more awesome it would have been had you not known.

If true then I think it would be the first time 2 games from the same series got a 10 from Edge, the other game in the series getting a 10 being the original Halo. However we are jumping the gun a bit but it does make me look forward to getting Edge this month, even though I won't be reading it till after I play the game. :lol

I figure Edge is due to hand out a 10 soon, were well into seventh gen now and we haven't had one yet. We need a game to define what this generation will be remembered for, I thought BioShock might have been that game, but Edge had other ideas.
OXM UK/US both have street dates of 25th September, though again I'm sure that subscribers will be getting their copies early (and promptly relaying scores to the rest of us!)

I'd be surprised if EDGE will hand out a 10 for Halo 3, unless that is the game is truly ground breaking. The Bioshock review might have seemed harsh but after playing the game you could see that the few criticism’s they leveled at the game were valid.
Halo2 got a 9/10 and i wrote this an age ago,

The EDGE HALO2 review is bigger than this but this is a pretty good overview of it. Any gramatical errors (which will many) are mine.

The review does mention the untied ending. Live options are covered in that one line except for little side snippet where EDGE says that Halo2 had only just gone Live prior to review. There short time playing it but it reckons Clan support was “lavish” the only downer being no co-op.

Jason Jones said Halo2 “it’s a lot like Halo, only it’s on fire, going through a hospital at a 130mph being chased by helicopters and the ninjas are fire to”

It’s a great quote and it’s true up to a point. That point being the first coma. Anyone expecting more- expecting the hyperbole, expecting the spoilers will be disappointed.

The dual wielding system works well, not least because the potential damage gain in training two streams of fire on an opponent comes at the price of hampering your access to grenades, melee attacks and gun emplacements. Less tangible are the changes that have been brought to the familiar, Weapons you thought you knew reload slower and fire faster. Ghost fly more deftly and fire more furiously. These are not changes that throw your rhythm off. It’s hard to point to a single one which isn’t a fundamental improvement on the first game. Players mourning the evolution of old favorites will miss out on exploiting the full weapon set which has expanded without making any of its components redundant.
The much touted visual upgrade such has improved lighting, realistic physics etc, much of which will pass players by because the combat itself is so involving; except for when the cracks in the world snap you back to reality. Halo was impeccably solid, perhaps because it attempted to do so little and ended up do it all so perfectly, absorbing you completely. Here those richer environments, those more elaborate characters, the playful physics that all add to the experience- its hard not to coo with delight when a Hunter swipes a crate away with a furious sweep of his armour plated arm. But they also stress the game engine to the point where sometime, just sometimes it just can’t cope. Models pop in and out of detail and level scripting fails to kick in or starts too early.
The combat however continues to amaze. Really. Two years after Halo and it’s yet to be surpassed as the standard for FPS combat. Halo 2 at the very least builds on that. This game builds squarely on the combat of the first game and not only strengthens it but changes how it should be played. If you have mastered Halo the game should be played through on Heroic even though the battles are much more vast and densely populated the air thicker with lead and laser that your first instinct will be that this is much tougher. This isn’t the case pitch the game on heroic and you will enjoy all the battles much more.

The Multiplayer options are tremendous as expected.

If the plot is Halo’s 2 worst aspect, then, perversely the dialogue is the best. There are funny lines here, things that will make you laugh out loud. Your fighting colleagues who incidentally are far stronger than in Halo but not to the point of doing everything for you chat amongst themselves with wit and candor. No game does this better.
For the critisisms above few games do much better than Halo2 and its fitting we are able to steal a line from the script to sum everything up. When Cortana turns to Master Chief and says “It’s not a new plan. But we know it will work”

I dunno. Halo 3 is pretty feature heavy. Reviews will be interesting.

Exactly. If they're even half as good as I'm hoping then I think a 10 would be justified. Microsoft beat Sony to game 3.0 confirmed :o

Yeah. It just seems like the game offers so much. I'm expecting high scores.

If it did get a 10 it would be the Forge feature of the game that would do it. If you read EDGE monthly you will understand where I'm coming from.

The -only- disappointing thing about H3's featureset is that there is no onboard video compression and upload service like Skate's. I know a lot of people are set up to record stuff straight to the internet via magic or other methods, but for tech-know-nots like myself I would have loved this feature to share with people sans 360 and Halo 3.

Not really important, I know, but Skate made me all wisful for it in Halo 3 :(

These sort of leaks is why digital distribution should be the way games are done in the future.

Games should be distributed by download only, with retail boxes just containing a disk (or small flash card or something simple like that) that has a key that unlocks the downloaded game. You could preload the game in advance, like Steam, and purchase it online or in store but can't play it until the release date.

I'm sorry guys, but I think I'm gonna have to try and go dark on the interwebs until I'm done with the game. There have been too many incidents of spoilers and leaks for me to be comfortable checking my regular sites like Digg, Gametrailers, or maybe even here.

I am extremely weak willed when it comes to this sort of thing, though, so don't be too surprised if you see me back, like, tonight. :P
