As do I, but only if they can search more than one of these "smaller", behind-the-scenes events in the story throughout the game. Perhaps a prequel, but shown off through the eyes of a faction (UNSC).

For example, on Floodgate, when you're walking through the bunker after the Flood arrive and kill most of the marines and only a small handful left, they start crying out things like "they came out of nowhere, man!!! THEY JUST KILLED HIM". Through the Chief's eyes, it's a quick "damn that sucks" thing because you weren't there, your objective was to keep walking forward.

But now, I want to be in the UNSC's shoes and live the horror of the Flood taking over my friends just before the Chief arrives.

Oh god yes.
Imagine at the end of the game you are barely alive while the flood seems to be coming stronger than ever. Then, from the blackness, the flashlight of a shotgun appears. Master Chief comes thru almost like an angel in armor to smite down the plague that is Flood. A myth or legend, jumping all around, ducking, weaving, blasting Flood everywhere to bits and smashing to pulp.

This is of course, after you go through the entire game. Parts where you are low on rations, some marines kill themselves, others leave the wounded to die. *Yada yada insert other dark moments here*

I think it would be an awesome game. Barely scraping by with an M rating. :lol

Awesome. A scripted Chief coming in and going to town on the Flood would be awesome. Especially since, like you said, he'd be ducking, weaving, leaping, blasting, and doing all of the things that are normal for him, but nothing like what you've been able to do for the entire game.

He could rip off some Flood combat form arms off and beat other flood to death with them. That would be absolutely badass.

I personally don't care to play a Halo game without playing as the Master Chief. It's either a new IP or Halo 4 from Bungie, or bust.

Well welcome to Bustville.
Population - 1

EDIT: Population - 2 :lol

Now one of you can drive the other around in the wambulance.
Or you can get together and play team rifles. :lol

Why are you guys so attached to the Chief, yea he's a badass, but as a character he's pretty shallow in the games.

Some fans like first-person shooters over a squad based. Would I like to test it out first? Sure. But the idea of a squad based shooter with Marines/ODSTs is meh right now.

I also figure its multiplayer wouldn't have the legs that Halo 2 or Halo 3 have.

Shallow? He's an avatar for YOU. That's a big part of how and why Halo works so well. I have yet to play a game that matches the sense of wandering, isolation, and wonder that Halo CE had. Bungie won't let the world down with a mere squad-based shooter or some side-story game in the Halo universe. How quickly people forget about the
freaking FORERUNNER PLANET that the Chief and Cortana were heading towards.
I'm hoping beyond hope that this Superintendent game is an XBLA title or something, anything that will serve as an appetizer before the main course.

I want Bungie to aim for the stars, not Ubisoft.

I'll wait until they actually show something before I roll out the doom and gloom posts.

Haven't really thought about it too much... but it'd be really cool if the game came within the next six months or so, since we'd have two awesome multiplayer games to switch between (assuming it has multiplayer). That'd be pretty great.

Halo fans never cease to amaze me. I wonder if the MLG crowd has the skinny on the br spread yet.

Optimism and pessimism are equally valid when we know nothing of what's to come. You have your desires, I have mine. *shrugs*

Dude, he's a fucking green brick. Of course he's an an avatar for you, he's barely even a character.

Is that a bad thing? Maybe the MC would be considered more of a 'character' if he'd pop his helmet off, crack open a Dos Equis, and bemoan his relationship with his long-lost (and now Flood-infected) brother?

The most compelling 'characters' in gaming are often those that remain as a canvas for you to paint in your mind's eye. Bungie clearly understands this with titles such as Halo and Marathon. It will be very interesting to see the progression of Bungie's narrative with regards to their protagonist(s).

In Bungie I Trust as long as it's Halo 4 (with MC), Marathon, or a new IP. :D

That's from a movie called Jesus Camp.

If you haven't watched it you should...it's a scary reality.

Oh and Halo is awesome
on topic...
so when are we finding out why we should keep it clean?

When did I say bust-ville? I said it seems rather so-so if it's a squad based shooter for the Xbox's biggest IP ever to release. Why not create a Halo: CE prequel? But nah, I'm just a moran because I may disagree, if its in fact true, with Bungie's decision. I can't ride their dick like many here do.

BR starts for all playlists! Yes!
lol yeah right

No, you're a moron because you're hating on and critiquing a game that hasn't been revealed yet.
And the fact that you misspelled moron didn't hurt either.

Moran (Ó Móráin) is a modern Irish surname and derived from member ship of a medieval dynastic sept. The name means a descendent of Mórán, translated as Great One. Morans were a respected sept of the Uí Fiachrach dynasty in the western counties of Mayo and Sligo. In Ireland, where the name descended from the Gaelic, it is generally pronounced (phonetically) "more-in", an anglicized approximate of the Irish pronunciation. Elsewhere, pronunciation follows the French surname, Mo rant, anglicized to (phonetically) "more-anne".

I did not know that about you.

You're serious about the moran word? Dude, look around the net. And which is it, "your" or "you're"? Is it really me who has the spelling issues?

:lol

I'm not "hating" on the rumor (until Bungie confirms it, that is). I'm simply stating a FPS would be a better option than a squad-based featuring Marines/ODSTs fighting who knows what. Halo: CE prequel would be better. Does it hurt your feelings that bad if I have a different opinion than you?

If you say so.

Dude just quit while you're ahead
That would be a grammatical misuse over spelling.

Hmm I'm banned from MM but I've never cheated.

nm I guess it says console banned for one week.

Maybe I got too much feedback from those laggy social BTB games we had? O well. I can go a week without lo'

How, all we did was beat people, nothing else, oh well that sucks, I've been busy playing NHL 09 which is amazing so I haven't even done matchmaking today.

Your post, it has backfired.
Editing posts, my friend.

Calling out somebody who said "moran" when he himself misspelled "you're" despite typing it correctly a few words later.

Anyways, this is what happens when you disagree with somebody, they get upset and attack you.

Yea I feel a little ripped off I just wish I knew what it was FOR, you get NO INFORMATION just a little screen saying www.bungie.net/bans

From Bungie.net/bans:

The following things will not result in a visit from the banhammer:

* Lag (poor or intermittent network performance).

In fact after thinking about it for several minutes I do feel like this is an illegitimate ban. The last several nights I've played I've had large groups of people from here with me and they know I was doing nothing unsportsmanlike and I'm sure they will attest to that.

I'm calling him out to call others out. I respect Striker and if he really feels like there are people here that are riding the penises of Bungie employees, I'd really like to know. There is not one person I can think of here that hasn't criticize Bungie or their games nor is there anyone who jumps on all those who do criticize Bungie.

Took a peak at Bungie.net forums. Someone thinks they've found the SI in the Halo: Landfall video (live action)
