But people tend to overlook, that Insomniac didn't have any valuable IP that they owned. That's why they were so "cheap."

In Poland, there were 366 transactions on the mergers and acquisitions market in 2023, which means an increase of 25 transactions compared to 2022 - Navigator Capital and Fordata reported in a joint report. The largest acquisition transaction in this period was the takeover of Techland by the Chinese company Tencent.

The value of this transaction is estimated at approximately PLN 6.3 billion. The second largest transaction was the takeover of the bookmaker STS Holding by Entain CEE, estimated at PLN 3.9 billion.

PLN 6.3B is roughly $1.6B which would place it in the top 15 of largest videogame company acquistions.

They've been making various games in the past (including Dead Island from the same genre as Dying Light), but their most famous series is probably Call of Juarez. Wouldn't mind if it made a comeback instead of finding out they're making Dying Light 3.

Well outside of the licensing costs for the Marvel games (seemingly), it does.

Though there's some good in having the flexibility of costs on a per-title basis and the studio itself comparatively inexpensive (though I'm guessing various perf & bonus pays are tied to the market performance of games made with those licenses).
