Splatoon Raiders |OT| Inkspector Gadget

Theres just a random suit you unlock for playing a multi-player match. Theres a console in the corner you interact with to make a room with friends.

It unlocks pretty early.
Yeah I know about the console. Thought there was some criteria for the suit. I'll be happy to hop in with you just not now cause I'm going to bed :D

Getting back to this after lunch. I have so many games to play its not even funny. Tokon beta, HLL vietnam beta and now this. Probably gonna get addicted to this for a few hours again

Damn, the Speed Tank is actually pretty awesome. Been using the Tactical Tank for most of my playthrough but I'm now grinding out the other Tanks to unlock the remaining slots, and I don't think I can go back from the webslinging gadget (forgot the name). The lack of mobility while using the Tactical Tank was often my undoing and this alleviates that completely.

The mobility gadgets are super fun but don't sleep on the speed tank's special ability. Being able to swim at high speed over uninked surfaces is amazing and it makes certain challenges much easier, the third boss in particular would probably have been a giant pain without it.

Just switched to speed tank from power. Crazy fun man. When it comes to gameplay, nintendo is still king. The gadget missions are sooo satisfying aswell. Whats crazy is the game holds rock solid 60 even when the wildest shit is happening on screen, insane. Buy this game people

I passed on this game because my wife tapped out, but it keeps calling me.

Solo gamers…worth the plunge?

Some of the videos that I've seen do look a bit too chaotic. Is it always like that?

Never cared for the other Splatoon games since they were primarily multiplayer, but I'm having a great time with this game. It also seems pretty short - maybe about 10-15 hours for the main story? Which for me is just about perfect for a game like this. Also seems to have a huge amount of replayability since you can do all the stages at harder difficulty, max out all three tank types, etc.

I never cared for the other Splatoon games either! I think that's been my biggest hesitation.

Okay, I'm sold. Short-ish playthrough for a looter shooter with enough variety from the games I'm currently playing.

Plus, since it's Nintendo, it won't go on sale any time soon.

I heard the endgame is robust and i can see myself firing up this game from time to time just to do a few quick runs solo or online, because its that fun. I really hope nintendo will make post launch content for this. I know the pvp games got good support

Jumped in for a few minutes and I'm digging the controls (switched to analog stick aiming).

Game looks great so far. My wife walked in and was like "wow this looks cool", so she may be persuaded to join lol

A bit of slower start, but when you start unlocking stuff and upgrades it gets better and better

Did you guys pick a speed, power, or tactical tank?

I kinda like the look of the ink turret with the tactical, but also wouldn't mind just barreling over enemies with the power tank.

Im still early, it's fun. I wish it was more colorful, the sewer pallette is kinda depressing and the areas are not fun to look at. I hope to see a big upgrade in Splatoon 4, the game looks like an uprez switch game.

Def going to try and max out each tank.

I do like the silly crate game.

The final boss is insane. This is a low budget spinoff of a silly squids game and it kicks the shit out of 99% of final bosses in "serious" games when it comes to visual spectacle, settings and gameplay mechanics. It's quite literally a Platinum Games final boss, in fact it looks and plays quite similar to the final boss of

Astral Chain
.

Anyway beat the campaign in about 17 hours I'd say, I probably saw half of what the game has to offer. I'll probably write a wall of text later but yeah this is the best game on Switch 2 by a decent margin and one of the very best Nintendo games of all time. Absolutely pathetic that this got such a lukewarm critical reception.

It kinda does but thats the price for the rock solid 60 fps even when there are crazy things on the screen. IT was the right choice for a game like this. Splatoon 4 can look much better because its gonna be 4v4 pvp and not this crazy shit :D

The right choice would have been to use DLSS, like they did for Splatoon 3's Switch 2 update...

Splatoon 2/3 are 60fps (mostly). I think they could've pushed it further. It's mostly the color pallette and art direction thats bothering me. Best art from Nintendo is still Arms.

I legit think speed tank might be my favorite gameplay mechanics in any game ever. Nintendo have always made absolutely top notch movement systems but this is the best thing they've done, better than any 3D Mario, better than Bananza, better than 2D Metroid. It's also probably because it's used in such tense scenarios instead of the usually more relaxed sandbox environments of their collectathons.

Anyone know how to use the blue pulsing compass? Can't figure it out, it only makes a dot when I'm moving around the map, and if I stop moving it goes back to just pulsing. Driving me nuts...

Wish I could help!

I'm addicted to this game, so maybe I'll get to that point sooner than later lol

If its lighting up youre moving in the right direction then it'll disappear when you pass the room. Just move around spamming A while its lighting up.
