Hunt for treasure in a wild adventure!

In this single-player-focused game, play as a mechanic working with Deep Cut—a trio of swashbuckling musicians—and venture out into the mysterious Spirhalite Islands!

Customize your character, kit yourself out with mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, and take on waves of enemy Salmonids as you raid the islands for treasure.

Head out on raids

Pick a destination and see what goodies you can find. Fight Salmonids, gather salvage, and uncover the mysteries of the islands.

Score treasure

Scoop up purdy Spirhalite Crystals and other salvage that you find out there—you never know what might come in handy! Some stages may also contain rare relics that can power you up. You'll keep everything you pick up on solo raids, no matter what happens.

Tinker with your gear

Salmonids can put up a fight. Use the salvage you recover during raids to craft all sorts of enhancements back at your Hideout Ship. Whether you're upgrading gear, leveling up weapons, or enhancing home base, every little bit helps!

Inspect your gadgets

Each tank is compatible with its own range of specialized gadgets, which you can further customize using the loot you find. Equip the one that matches your play style—or swap tanks between missions to try a different approach.

Roll out with your bot buddy

One member of Deep Cut will raid alongside you in a powerful bot construct. Aside from helping in battle, you can jump off them to soar to new heights or build up powerful Showstopper attacks. Wield them wisely to unleash absolute heck!

Fight off hordes of Salmonid enemies that seem a little more vicious than usual, including some never-before-seen forms. On the flipside, the loot they drop can make your life easier in the long run. Salmonid numbers can get out of hand quickly, so watch your back!

Play your way

Find your sweet spot with Tourist, Raider, and Survivalist difficulty levels. Change it anytime! Just know that this only affects combat, not the loot you can get.

You can also join with up to three other players online* or via local wireless**. Call 'em in if you need help with a stage (or just want to splat Salmonids with a friend). The game will scale player power automatically to help make sure everyone has a good time.

Just got through the Tutorial really fun.So far feels a lot better than those single player campaigns in the regular splatoon games to me
Good ot By the way
ps for context I've only played a few minutes of the Splatoon 2 main single player and the DLC for Splatoon 2
but for some reason this gameplay does a lot more fun than those two gameplay loops did

damn... I almost changed my mind and bought it after seeing some more gameplay,
but this legit now makes it a definite skip

Just started playing, loving it so far. Never cared about the other game's multiplayer modes, so I knew I'd dig this.

The Splatoon art style is so good.
Yeah the art style is still great but I was expecting the game to look better for Splatoon's Switch 2 debut, honestly. It's definitely not using DLSS because it looks pretty soft during gameplay in TV mode.

However, I noticed it gets a resolution bump (and a 30fps cap) during cutscenes. Curious to see DF's analysis on this one.

Will likely grab this or beast in August after I complete halo remake.

I wish this had launched like 3 weeks ago would've been a no brainer then.

Damn, this OT makes me wanna buy the game. Well done OP

From what I've played (I'm in the second set of islands after defeating the first boss) this might be my favorite Nintendo game in more than a decade. If this keeps up and doesn't shit the bed it's probably going to end up better than Donkey Kong Bananza.

It's everything that I expected from a single player Splatoon spinoff. The series fantastic core gameplay is expanded in ways that make it one of the most mechanically satisfying games I've ever experienced especially in terms of movement options, the amount of customization is insane, the variety and quality of challenges is top notch. Some people were worried that the game would be repetitive combat encounters and nothing more but there's platforming EVERYWHERE, right from the start with exploratory sections but also more focused linear trials.

The game introduces new platforming mechanics the series had never seen before and uses them extensively, the level design and enemy placement force you to use all your traversal options properly, Salmon Run's strategic almost puzzle game aspect to the fighting where you need to take advantage of the unique enemies abilities that can be turned against them and help you get better movement is still there and it's been improved thanks to better level design and more curated enemy placement, it's all really impressive.

I'm playing on survivalist and the challenge is perfect, it's hard but not frustrating, definitely the hardest Nintendo game since Metroid Dread. I don't see the game's quality completely collapsing so this will likely end up joining the list of Nintendo games that got a tepid critical reception despite being modern classics like Tropical Freeze or Kid Icarus Uprsing. And I got a physical copy for less than 45 euros. What more could you ask for?

God damn it, if I wasn't waiting on the battery revision I'd probably jump on the Switch 2 before the price bump and grab this. I loved the first Splatoon on Wii U, didn't play the two sequels. This sounds really good so far.

Played alot of this last night with my daughter co-op, game is really good. The gadget customization is really great. Can't wait to play more.

Never really cared for the main Splatoon games single player modes. But loved Salmon run and the standard multi-player modes.

I'm happy to read you had a good time playing with your daughter. I plan to do the same. She's loving it. My physical copy doesn't ship from Amazon until next week

Has anyone messed around with controlling the crane on the base and pulling boxes out of the water? Fun little bonus game and you can get some decent stuff from it.

I tried a few times, got boxes, but they just had a few of the little blue gems in them so it felt kind of pointless. Is there actually good stuff?

The wife was super excited for this game. Preordered it and everything . she got home from work and was playing this for hours. Game does look really cool though. The graphics are nice and smooth and the presentation is really neat.
