Using your own big boy words instead of copy and pasting a publicity piece, please explain how the words ‘independent’ and ‘subsidiary’ go hand in hand.

You are more noble than I am. I was going to provide him with a link to dictionary.com and leave it at that but thought even that was too much.

At some point people need to learn to figure things out for themselves.

Ok read the very own PlayStation blog where they state Bungie is going to remain indepnlendant. Jim Ryan’s words

I’d get more sense out of Grogu than you. Considering you can’t even defend your position with your own words we’ll just leave it at that.

I don’t need my own words or opinion. I am showing facts off the PlayStation blog in THIER OWN WORDS.

The CEO of Bungie in his OWN WORDS

What’s not to understand?

Because Sony owns 100% of them? Herp derp

They were never owned by Activision in the first place and they had to pay $200 million for Destiny. You're overestimating them just because MS agreed to let them go.
They are an independent subsidiary under SIE. Its not as clear cut as you are making it out to be, contractual terms around autonomy and control can have a dramatic effect on these things. Bungie in no uncertain terms stated that they retain a lot of control and independence around management decisions, development and publishing.

Explain to me why Ryan is a king for saying Bungie will be multi platform and then make them exclusive down the line, while Spencer is a lying snake for saying they will become exclusive down the line
First of all no one said that. Secondly they won't make games exclusive because they make more money being on more platforms (which I already said in one of my comments). And also because phil doesn't give a shit about the money, they just want exclusive games to bring them to their platform which is 3rd in popularity. It's fucking business, doesn't mean Phil isn't full of shit since most thing he says usually end up being the opposite and FYI I also don't give two fucks about Jim Ryan, I just love the memes.

They are employees who abide by the rules set out by the parent. The independent operation comes after that

Who publishes Bethesda games?

and just so you know

"This acquisition will give SIE access to Bungie's world-class approach to live game services and technology expertise, furthering SIE's vision to reach billions of players. Bungie will continue to operate independently, maintaining the ability to self-publish and reach players wherever they choose to play," reads a new 6-K SEC filing from Sony.

Microsoft seen as they own the publisher

Please, I beg you stop posting and go back to school. You're not even getting the basics right here and frankly it's embarrassing.

Playstation studios like ND, SMS, GG are under Sony Interactive Entertainment which publishes their games.

so that's a first with bungie then, also does Sony state anywhere else that their studios are free to decide what platform their game goes on?

Watching PS5 and Xbox Fans both praying...... in different directions while PC players just eating popcorn and laughing lol.

Just stop .. people are trying to be nice to you when they are explaining simple things … don’t push your luck.

They are being treated like naughty dog . These guys can do whatever they want. Sony won’t tell them anything because Sony knows whatever they make will sell. So they give them the independence of development and choice

Bungie here isn’t any different. They are independent and they can develop anything they want… but it’s still under Sony. As long as the game is GaaS, they have the freedom ( and they should ) release it on any console. It’s GaaS. But the minute it’s let’s say a single player game ? It’s ps5 exclusive unless Sony says otherwise .

They are owned by Sony, period

Fair point.

I think I got your opinion a little mixed up with Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping ,that seems overly defensive and publish the idea of its Sony being kind, when it was a criteria from Bungie all along to be independent.

Yea I don’t see Microsoft here.

I am confused.

I thought Microsoft owned Bethesda Softworks.

I mean, if they do, then it is technically Microsoft publishing the game since they own them.

Well yeah bungie is kinda the first of that kind as far as I know.

Regarding the studio decisions, I think that ultimately its up to sony to decide if they allow a game on other platforms or not.
For instance MLB the show is on all platforms (PS, Xbox, Switch) but the big sony games like TLOU or God of War are usually exclusively on playstation consoles and recently they started coming to PC after a couple of years. The plan with bungie is to remain multiplatform but that doesn't mean that in the future they can't change that.

Also I think the oldschool bungie folks like Pete Parsons and Jason Jones will retire in a couple of years, hence why they sold the company to sony.
They probably have one more big game under their belts who knows.

Being independent doesn't mean here's an agreement where we'll let you do whatever the fuck you want and we can't intervene

where does it say anywhere if bungie make a single player game it will be Sony exclusive? if you read the PS blog then it says bungie decide where their games go. that's Sonys own words not mine
