Anywhere on this lineup where they announce they're now an Xbox game studio ?

No, that'll happen on Wednesday (according to the leak).
But because TGS will open on Thursday, MS will buy TGS (and/or Japan) to have everything happen tomorrow.

Looking on the bright side, I hope they surprise us with something cool for SMT3, like uncompressed battle music or a fusion system that doesn't make you want to tear your face appart.

Still a year away at the very least.
I know... But I was hoping to see some gameplay this Friday! Damn...

There is big different between western studio and Saga. Most of Saga's audience are in Japan and most Japanese gamers have either Playstation or Nintendo systems, Xbox has barely any market in Japan.
Maybe they wana change that

Pretty much what I was thinking. Unless I'm wrong, Xbox fans generally don't care about these types of games and Japan doesn't care about Xbox.

There's two ideas here

1. MS is seeing if adding games to Gamepass will make them more popular, this has worked for indies, will it work for Japanese Games?

2. Will buying Japanese Studios be enough to pierce Japanese Nationalism? Can MS make Gamepass such a value to Japanese gamers that they're willing to accept gaming with a non Japanese company?

But MS tried this with 360 and I'm not just talking about the JRPG, I'm also talking about games that only released on Japan that was exclusive to Xbox.

And still Xbox didn't mange become popular in Japan.

Japanese gamers are just much more in to Playstation and Nintendo over Xbox.

I don't think it would ever happen, but buying sega would be a far greater pull than the attempts of the 360 era

But I don't think Saga wants to alienate their fanbase in Japan, there is no way in hell they would release game like Sakura Wars exclusive to Xbox.

This can't be all they have right? I'm assuming they aren't listing new/surprising announcements.

Can we at least get a confirmation and date for Persona 5 Scramble for the west? But seriously, I would like to see what some of the other Atlus studios are up to. Where's Re: Fantasy?

Man I wish they pull out some surprises. I need to see some SMT V gameplay, just so I know the game is real. ^^u

If they really wanted to compete in Japan then they could buy SEGA and brand the Xbox as a SEGA device in Japan. Maybe even a different form factor or OS?

I was REALLY hoping for some info on Persona 5 Scramble's US release. With how good P5 did here, i would say its a no brainer that its coming, but i was hoping for info as to when.

That is true but the XSS form factor looks like it was built for the Japanese market. If MS were to have another attempt, now would be the time with the S and they would need a huge incentive for buy in. It may not be an acquisition , but Sega could be part of that incentive in some form.

Can they now fucking release Persona 5: The Royal on PC, and/or Switch already? Like fucking hell. They're third-party. Doing exclusives is the job of first-party teams.

Eh, given Atlus' history and SMT4: Apocalypse coming out in 2016, I think they are on track with SMT 5.

Atlus always seem to be late to the party, but at least the time they take is translated into actual quality. So it's worth the wait.
Really hope so! At least we have the remaster of SMT III in between. :)

Better late than never. Hopefully they are still working on Project Re Fantasy and we get an update this year. It's close to feeling like vaporware.

With Atlus it's not implausible. I mean heck, SMTV is feeling like vaporware given the lack of any gameplay shown and it's their flagship franchise.

I love Atlus games so much, but as a company, they are a horrible mess at delivering products in anything resembling a timely fashion.

"Virtua Fighter, which was created as the world’s first 3D fighting game in 1993, will restart as an eSports title in celebration of Sega’s 60th anniversary, starting in Japan,” Sega said. “Details on the project will be announced in a future update.”

It's good to see SEGA announce something Virtua Fighter related in any case.

You are not wrong. I was asking some Youtubers in my country who have Xbox oriented channels and who keep saying that MS should buy Sega to tell me which Sega franchises they like and unsurprisingly they couldn't answer because in reality they don't give a shit about Sega (let alone Atlus of which i doubt they even know what games they have.) They just like to repeat dumb shit other Xbox fanboys say just because Sega's brand name still sounds "important" for their console wars.

In the West, PSO2: New Genesis will come out on the Xbox first, from what we gather from the recent messaging coming out from both MS and SEGA.

I can’t wait to see what Hashino is doing with Re Fantasy but I don’t expect to hear anything about it this year.
