A lot of good games shown yesterday. I don't care who is responsible for them, I'm excited to check them out.

Since you seem to believe that the new CEO can't change anything that the old CEO decided to do, how many years will it be before Jim Ryan is responsible? Because the way the real world works is that Sony's board started holding Jim Ryan responsible the day he took the job. If Shawn Layden was going in the wrong direction in 2019 and something sucks because of it 2 years later it's because Jim Ryan likes it enough to continue to let it suck.
so Shaun is responsible for horizon, 2018 god of war, last of us 2, GoT, Astro bot, returnal, ratchet and more?
I don’t get why we are supposed to be angry at the old Sony leadership of Shaun and Andrew house.
Shawn Layden was never CEO.Shawn Layden stepped down as CEO of Worldwide Studios in September of 2019.
That means almost everything we saw from yesterday's PlayStation Experience was a result of Shawn Laydens leadership, not Jim Ryan or Herman Hulst. In fact, the only impact Sonys new leadership had on yesterday's show was (arguably) Insomniac Games becoming a Marvel Studio for the time being. Everything else got the greenlight well before September of 2019.
I'm seeing a few people try to bash Jim Ryan based on the games we're seeing and that makes no sense. The Jim Ryan / Herman Hulst PlayStation won't be visible until 2022/2023 at the earliest.
Their subscription service needs games. So lot's of good games to attract the crowd and keep them there. So you logic is flawed. For me it's their best move, good games that you can play anywhere. They do not see in terms of consoles war like most of you do.I'm 41. And no, I do think Phil is a smart guy. I just don't think what he is doing with the Xbox brand is a good thing. He is trying to remove it all for the Gamepass brand. I loved Xbox when the original Xbox and the 360 was around (pre Kinect). They cared about gamers. They cared about GAMES and getting the best games into the hands of Xbox gamers. They made sure their console was easy to develop for and it showed in the high quality 3rd party releases. Now it is ALL about Gamepass. Xbox seems to me to be a thing Microsoft want to distance themselves from and focus on a fucking subscription service! Fuck that and fuck Microsoft if that is where they want to go.
So we just go around buying 3rd parties to keep their games off everything other console yet Microsoft don't care about their own consoles? So why make consoles for? If they are doing so well with gamepass put it on playstation, nintendo and everywhere else. They don't make their own games so what do they care? And in terms of console wars, is Starfield coming to Playstation? If not, why not? If they don't see things in terms of console wars why bother stopping these games appearing on "rival" consoles???Their subscription service needs games. Odd logic again. Some of their subscribers like me only play on consoles. Everybody does not need to be like me! It's exclusive to The Xbox ecosystem, Sony also publish on Pc, I do not care either. If Sony or Nintendo eventually accept Gamepass, I am sure that they would also put their games there... Their model has changed, accept to think outside the box ( lol I like this one).So we just go around buying 3rd parties to keep their games off everything other console yet Microsoft don't care about their own consoles? I actually don't really care what anybody thinks of any sub service in gaming. If none of you can't see the problems it will eventually create down the line then I feel bad for you. Keep feeding the monster...
Ryan and Hulst could have canceled any game that was greenlit when they took over. It's not cost prohibitive to cancel a bad project. Sometimes you cancel bad projects instead of throwing more money at them to try to make them good. So if anything bad gets released that was greenlit before Ryan took over is because Ryan and Hulst approved of it.Games take 3.5 - 5 years to make.
(Almost) Everything we saw at yesterday's show was greenlit under the old regime.
Jim Ryan and Herman Hulst started greenlighting their projects in late 2019. If games take 3.5 to 5 years to make, and they've only been in leadership positions for 2 years, when do you think their impact will be felt in terms of game reveals/showcases?
If the ball is already rolling, it would be cost prohibitive to axe all the projects you don't like when they've already been in development for a length of time. In fact, doing so means you're creating a game drought which would harm the brand more than anything.
That were good things.cancelling Scalebound? Closing Lionhead Studios
Didn't they try to charge DOUBLE for their Gold Service just this year?!Sure, but the difference is we didn't see a lot "wrong" with what Phil did during that time outside of what... cancelling Scalebound? Closing Lionhead Studios? A few things here or there. It really does feel like the current Sony management are actively making a lot more strange/bad decisions in that same amount of time.

Well we shall wait and see. If not a fan of the sub route, and I think it will be highly detrimental to the future of gaming as a whole. I just wish that Xbox had stuck to the route they had with the 360 where the focus was on games primarily and not a service for people to play games wherever and wherever.Odd logic again. Step one is to not care what others think about what you like. Unless what you like hurts others.Shawn Layden stepped down as CEO of Worldwide Studios in September of 2019.
