The riots aren't a surprise seeing how France and much of Europe is going with mass migration.

Also, Arsenal cannot be applauded for playing they like. Reminds me of Simeone at Atlético Madrid.

If they won, clearly it wasn't the best team and there would have been resentment. The futbol Gods got it right.

It's literally true. We recently had riots in Scheveningen (popular beach town adjacent to The Hague in the Netherlands) on the first real Summer day this year between "youths" and the riot police. The cultural enrichment was off the charts, any outsider would have no idea this was filmed in the Netherlands.

To be honest, I'm getting disillusioned with football. It used to be a sport for the working class. Now "clubs" are just Investments for foreign owners and states, with players getting paid hundreds of thousands a week. Working class families are getting priced out.

We even have non-league clubs getting taken over by foreign investors. South Shields, a National League North team, have just been bought by a group of overseas investors. South Shields!

I'm so tired of it.

That link between the club and the community was severed a long time ago. It used to be the norm that just about all players were local men. But when football went commercial and clubs paid good money to attract the best players, it was still a source of pride for clubs to see local youth players breakthrough to the A team. But that also changed and now many of those youth players aren't local lads anymore, they were originally discovered by international scouts and moved to a new country in order to train at a major football club.
