I wont talk that much about it. I will just show you, how the Cloud gaming performs on certain games.Stadia, and Gforce are my primary targets. We will compare them against XsX, and PS5.

1: Cyberpunk2077. XSX vs Gforce, Stadia.

These are the compiled list, I was able to get. As of now, these services are on their infant stages. Behind them are engineering who have massive experience in this field. As technology evolves, these services will evolve.
In 2 to 3 years, we will see these services able to run the games normally at everyone's speed internet.

The internet requirements for both services.

Stadia: An internet connection speed of 10 megabits per second (Mbps) or greater is the minimum recommended to use Stadia. A slower network speed can cause issues while you play games. To play in up to 4K resolution, you'll need an active Stadia Pro subscription and a network speed of 35 Mbps or greater.

Gforce now:
Like all game streaming services, GeForce Now requires lots of internet bandwidth and speed. It needs at least a 15Mbps connection for 720p60 game streaming, and 25Mbps for 1080p60 streaming. That means either a wired or a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection to your router.

Now for consoles required internet download.

XSS: Minimum download speed of 3 Mbps (or 3,000 Kbps) Minimum upload speed of 0.5 Mbps (or 500 Kbps) Ping of less than 150 milliseconds.

PS5: You'll need a download speed of at least 3 Mbps to play games on the new PlayStation 5 (PS5).Nov 12, 2020

I couldnt find XSX minimum download speed.

With consoles demanding that much data for their downloads, and minimum downloads being 3mbps, this should eliminate the debate about slow internet myth.

Played cyberpunk2077 on stadia, on my pc on a browser, with mouse and keyboard, through a wifi, in the basement. with a 400mbps internet. No issues at all. Even aiming was good.

Its much better than the one on my pc. I had hard time getting stable 30 on 1080 ultra settings on my pc. I was sitting between 20 and 30 fps. Stadia one was smooth. Aside of bugs. My last gameplay had Jackie got stuck on a car, once I reversed the car, he was hanging in the air, like he is sitting on a car.

I'm definitely excited about it. Not my first choice and will only be jazzed as long as I have unlimited data, but it's great. I played slay the spire with no lag in the car on a drive. Well, until I hit a dead zone, but other than that it was great. It usually works great and I packed my Kishi with me so I can kill time at the airport with xCloud

Cyberpunk on stadia through wifi is still great. The Chromecast feeling is better. But dang, does it run much smoother than my pc. My pc looked like it was hunted.

I run at 60hz monitors. Maybe its your expectations, that is why you aren't fan of it.

Same as the 4k crowds.

All that matters is, can they play the game at 1080p? Is the gameplay is smooth? Can regular folks play the game too?

If you are a high end pc users, you will need to wait for the 4k experience. As of now. The service is for regular folks.

M8 it's 2021 not the 2000's... Everything is unlimited data except my mobile, I pay £7 for unlimited voice/text/7gb data but who cares 7gb covers me a month when I'm not connected to WiFi but for home broadband nobody in the UK is capping data

I don't think the issue has ever really been how games look when streaming, the primary issue has always been the response delay. It's the same reason that I avoid emulation and use the original hardware or FPGA systems.

In the U.K there’s no such thing as capped data on home internet. It’s all unlimited. I assume the same is true for America and other countries? If not, that’s a big problem for cloud gaming.

In my country in particular, you either have great speeds and shitty datacaps or slow speeds and unlimited data.

I mean those are problems that have workarounds. The bigger problem is support. None of these streaming service are supported in my country which will need VPN to actually use adding more to the delay. The supposed deal with Sony and Netflix actually has me excited cause it's probably the only streaming service which has actual servers here. I've been dying to try out the Power of the Cloud but it's only really available to other people so far.

I suspect that all the hate comes from the lack of good internet speed.
I have Gigabit fiber optic at home and I see nothing wrong with Stadia besides low number of games, which directly comes from the low internet speeds of possible customers.
I will make a separate thread with my Stadia setup but for now I'll just tell you that I love it.

I have 75mb fiber straight to the house for £30/MTH, more than enough for me at the mo, no data caps no other add-on shite I don't need, for an extra tenner I could get 150mb but no need, I can stream 4K and download about 50gb of 4k rips a night which is fine for now and sitting in my garden I get 250mb downloads on 5G which amuses me no end... The US really lags behind every other western country when it comes to pretty much everything considering how massive the tech sector is in America

It's been about 1 year since I switched from my;
ADSL 8/1Mbit Internet that I paid ~550SEK (us$64/€54) per month for, this was when actually checking download speed only around 850kB/s.

4G Mobile Home Broadband, paying ~400SEK (us$46/€39) per month (for 2 years) then it goes up to ~500SEK (us$58/€49) per month, and my speed has increased alot, but still nowhere near fiber speeds. I got around ~25-50Mbit download and a ~20mbit upload, so its not completely stable on the download side. With almost daily 40-50mbit download in the beginning but have slowly gone down in speed as time went by, and now when measured the top downloadspeed is around ~35mbit at best.

Both Internet subscriptions where/are supposedly "unlimited", but how much that unlimited moniker applies I have not yet fully tested, 1TB/month have not been an issue so far on my new 4G connection, or maybe it has, and that's why I dont really get 40-50mbit download anymore, and just get ~35mbit at best now?

There are no way any fibre will be coming to where I live, unless the government DICTATES it has to be built everywhere, no company will do it, not enough people live here or even want to pay the initial fee if it would come, so it would not be economically to put fibre to my location.

So just because you live in UK/EU there are no guarantee that you can get that awesome and cheep internet subscription.

The gaming future has me rock hard! Seriously, this tech combined with services will be revolutionary for gaming in ways we haven't seen since Nintendo released the NES.

Unless you are a mega gamer, 24 hour in 1 week is too much. 3 hour gaming a day is like 21 hour. With 4 weeks in a month, that is 84 hour gameplay.

I am struggling to get 2 hour gaming a day. And my weekend is like 3 hour a day.

It might be an issue if you have big family though. Everyone with their streaming apps, internet usage, and game downloads.

If you live more than 20 minutes outside of a major city you likely only have one option for internet with a download and upload speed fast enough for online gaming. That's where ISP's gouge you, they know they have a monopoly.

The biggest issue with streaming is that your internet connection needs to be top top-tier, and in the house that would involve some seriously expensive wi-fi hardware (besides also access to 1GB/s from ISP). If I do it off of mobile data then the coverage is better but it chews through data like no tomorrow, and it's ofc not quite as stable & fast as wi-fi. Through ethernet it's ok for the most part but only for some games. Playing stuff like Assassin's Creed was fine but when I tried The Division 2 and some others then it was a giant mess, for whatever reason.

Then we go into quality issues because whatever setup there is for it right now just absolutely murders the picture quality to the point that it looks like someone went into lightroom & re-did the colour correction totally. Especially for GFN it just has a very sickly look to it, and of course no HDR support which is a HUGE negative.

Plus you add the games getting taken off (GFN), or the lack of modability/changes, etc. and too many issues start to pile up. Personally I think a Steam Deck looks like a 100x better deal than streaming for portability, and for everything else the regular consoles (or a PC once prices go back down) are also better.

There's a lot of promise in the power of "cloud gaming" but it's almost wholly unrealised & mostly just a marketing hype story.

What about my internet? I am played cyberpunk2077, not mid tier games on stadia. Our house has alot of people using the internet, and it was running perfectly fine. This is just the wifi.

Our wifi is 400mbps. We have a tiny issues with one of the poles giving us poor connection.

Still stadia run better than my pc hardware on a browser, not on chrome cast.

How long do we have to continue with this excuse, that you need 1gb internet to play these cloud games?

Your other points also applies to consoles too. What do they have to do with cloud performance?

As long as cloud plays the games, it does its job like consoles.
