Jamal is a common african american name in the states.
It does have some connection to Muslim roots, but it's more Nation of Islam/African Pride from what I understand than Middle Eastern Muslim roots.

No i'm definitely not muslim. And I do realize that Jamal does have arabic roots. In fact, my name means "handsome" in arabic, lol. I have no clue why my parents chose that name, but we're definitely not muslim.

Yeah, a few of my friends also think I should cut my hair again, but I like the new me LOL. Went for a new look this year, as i've always kept it 'clean cut' in the past (short hair, no beard), even got my ears pierced this year too. So yeah, the ladies love it....so do I, :lol
