I don't see anything wrong with your eye dude. :lol It's not that big of a deal. Quit being so self conscious. You look fine. No need for the long face. Besides, every one has their own little deformity. My eye twitches around ten times a day lately. Just go with it. During childhood, I also grew up with three front teeth. Had to get one pulled out (the middle, got quite a big gap between the two front teeth as a result). Was offered to get braces, but refused because I wanted to know that it was alright to be different. An outward sign if you will. Outside doesn't matter. It's whats on the inside that counts. Cheesy, but true.

I'm 26 years old and I have a facial deformity with one of my eyes. Somehow I was never tormented as a kid, everyone just treated me as normal and my childhood was actually really awesome. I had a blast, and never really thought much about it, other than the times I would look in the mirror. However, Now that I'm older, people treat me differently. It's almost the opposite of what you would have expected. Everywhere I go, no one will look me in the eyes when they talk to me. They will give me a glance, then stare at the wall behind me, or just talk to the floor. Nothing, and I mean nothing, feels as horrible as this. Unless people treat you like this, you would never understand how painful it really is. Could you imagine never having a conversation ever again where you can meet the person's eyes? Because of this, I'm kind of become a hermit. I don't talk to any of my old friends anymore, except for over FaceBook/MSN. Even immediate family treats me the same way. I honestly look in the mirror and think to myself, "OK, I see what the problem is, but really, that's not so bad." But it's how others perceive that just absolutely destroys my self confidence. But it's not like people hate me. I have a job, people understand that I'm a good person, and they don't mind talking to me, but only if they don't have to look at me. To people who say that confidence is everything-- there is a point to where it is not. When I was really young I used to have girlfriends, but I guess now that I've become an even bigger hideous freak of nature, I just get denied flat out, time and time again. I can't even gain any friends these days, let alone dates. It's rough. And I live by myself, so it can get pretty lonely.

People keep suggesting I wear an eye patch or sunglasses, and I just get furious when they suggest it. Sometimes they will just mention it out of the blue, which hurts even more. I'm willing to do just about anything to fix this, but not crippling my vision.

It's pretty crazy that such a very small deformity can affect such a large portion of a persons life. I told myself that if I ever come into wealth, I would start a non-profit orgranization of helping people with facial deformities. But until then, I'm simply saving my scraps to get myself the surgery that I need. It's expensive, and there's a chance that it won't make things better, but the slightest chance at a normal life is the greatest thing I could ask for.

And don't worry, I'm not sucidal or anything. If I have to stay indoors by myself and just surf websites for the rest of my life.. so be it. And who knows when the next miracle cure for ugly will come along.

i mentioned elsewhere that i never heard of him until someone told me in response to my first pic in this very thread, which is exactly the reason why i started watching lost, curious to know what this sawyer guy looked like.
I am surprised because while i AM somewhat flattered and i DO enjoy a decent popularity around here (here = my town) because of that i honestly don't think the resemblance goes beyond our hairstyle and little else, but today i was mentioned in two separate threads as the one who bears an uncanny resemblance to josh/sawyer, and not in response to any pic of me, and yeah i found it surprising. Also, i usually post follow ups to those comments so that it's easier for gaffers to identify me by my avatar

it's not the same. creepy is one thing, unattractive is another. creepy is more of a joke and in any case it's more related to how that particular pic turned out. I wouldn't personally take offense. Also, there's obviously a difference between a girl and a guy in terms of how much 'looks' mean, but still i've never seen anyone call a guy gaffer 'unattractive', you can be sure if it happened people would point out it's a gratuitous comment and not a nice thing to say.
