i don't know how anyone could hate learning german! i really love it, though the grammar sometimes makes no sense to me... when i finally do figure it out, i feel very triumphant.

i think it is one of the coolest languages. and i love the swiss version too :) hope one day i can really master it.
Because it is difficult as hell. I'm always surprised how well people can master it as a second language and tell them I wouldn't want to learn it

"i've heard that all the time about german too, that german people always sound like they are angry, but i think that is really a stereotype... i don't find it to be true at all. then again i live in switzerland where they speak "cute" german that's all sing-songy and funny sounding :P but i like high german too. i think german gets a bad rap."

Ya it's mostly a bad stereotype still carried from the old ww2 propoganda films. I want to hear what "cute" german sounds like. :lol

It's okay to hate learning German when you're Dutch. Or from a couple of other countries ;). We'll be milking the old excuse for a couple of decades more for sure. The Swiss version (switzerdütsch) definitely sounds friendlier and more melodic than normal German but still.. Not a pretty language. And that's coming from a Dutch person :p.

From a recent awesome trip in spain. Walking all the way up those stairs in the hot sun was not-so-awesome.

Have you dyed your hair? you look less like peter bogdanovich now.

"here is swiss german spoken by roger federer, with german subtitles...

the funny part is i can understand most of what he says without the subtitles!"

I don't know 'normal' germans sound like that it just seems that things for tv and the such they pick people with that deep throatier german for some reason.

That's all I could think of when she said that from watching most them in german but obviously it's not how most people talk. :lol

at the beach

EDIT: I wasn't trying to be funny or offensive. Broadwayrock put it best, there's too much sunlight and I can't see the features on his face very well. Sorry for not clarifying.

No offense, but I can barely see your face. :lol

I was going to say that too. It doesnt matter what skin colour you are, if you take a photograph where the person is standing with bright sunlight on their back you cannot see their face easily.

Here's a quicky fix..

I always try to spread the love, so that I can put some weight against those accusations of GAF hurting society and shit. Being nice to others is a very human thing to do, and you can never be too human.
It's strange that no euro-gaffers have planned trips to Zaragoza because of the International Expo. Maybe I should start a topic on that.
You're a good man, I like you.

My Japanese friends loathe my new haircut :( They say it makes me look too western lol

I had this a few weeks ago too, a haircut Japanese and other non-westernized Asians liked, but Americans disliked.

"What the hell do Americans know about good hairstyle?" said one of my Asian classmates at school. :lol

Now I want to know how you sound speaking German with Swiss and North American influences.
she sounds very cute. it's funny hearing a canadian speak a mix of swiss german and regular german. she's pretty good at it though and her accent is surprisingly mild.

J.M. Romeo has to be one of the nicest, awesomest persons on NeoGAF. His girlfriend always does look stoned though. She has a very sexy accent in the vid.
