Why are there so many identical NeoGAF members? What's going on??

Trust me I don't look like a mexican even though I am. You might mistake me for a white dude due to my Spanish ancestry.

I see it now. Do you speak Arabic?

Yes, I can also speak Arabic with an Iraqi accent, the universal arabic (Fus-ha) I can understand it more than really speak it well. You're from Morocco, right? Can you speak Arabic yourself?

Yeah I can, Moroccan dialect (as I'm sure you know is incomprehensible to anyone except us and Algerians :lol) as well as Egyptian dialect (most widely understood Arabic dialect thanks to their film industry, thus it has been a 100 x more helpful than my mother tongue!). As for fus7a, I understand some of it, but speaking, not really. Iraqi dialect is quite different from Egyptian, I know you guys say 'shlonek' which I've not heard as a greeting by any other Arab country! Are you meant to reply with "ana azrak" or "ana akhdar"? :P

Because it's not Arabic :/

Its an Arabic dialect, just one that is very different from the ones in the gulf states and the middle east. But essentially it is Arabic, most of the words are Arabic, just with a different accent and pronunciation (the pronunciation is said to be influenced by the old Berber language). And obviously there is the integration of French words, but that just depends on who is speaking it, the younger generations and middle/upper classes tend to use French words but most people also use the Modern Standard Arabic equivalent.

I mean yeah it is unintelligible to most of the Arab world, but I know Egyptians who can't understand Saudis at all, they're still both Arabic dialects.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moroccan_Arabic

There are noticeable lexical differences between Moroccan Arabic and most other dialects. Some words are essentially unique to Moroccan Arabic: e.g. daba "now". Many others, however, are characteristic of Maghrebi Arabic as a whole, including both innovations and unusual retentions of Classical vocabulary that has disappeared elsewhere such as hbeṭ' "go down" from Classical habaṭ. Others distinctives are shared with Algerian Arabic such as hḍeṛ "talk", from Classical hadhar "babble" and temma "there" from Classical thamma.

And with most words the difference is of that extent, 'hbet' instead of 'habat' or 'hder' instead of 'hadhar' or 'temma' instead of 'thamma'.

Maybe you're confusing it with Berber? Which is the old native language of the region still spoken in small communities and is most definitely not Arabic. But its far from being the predominant language and is almost dying it out as the younger generations are not learning it.

I was kinda being sarcastic by the way :lol . I know that you actually use Arabic words, and most of the time mix it with French. It's just that every time I open a Moroccan TV channel, I try to understand what are they saying. But never understood a single word. It's like you guys have your own language. That's why I said "that is not Arabic" .

wow that's news to me. Because I've been there a couple of times and we understand each other clearly. Actually, a lot of Egyptians come here to work and we never had any communication problems. I think you might wanna double check on that friend of yours. :lol

Well a statement followed by ':/' tends to eradicate any notions of sarcasm and gives a post the feeling of seriousness :P

I've spent a lot of time in Egypt (my step dad is Egyptian) and I have friends who found it really difficult to understand Saudi's dialect there (who spend a lot of time holidaying in Egypt it seems). Maybe they spoke MSA with each other to be understood?

My bad then :lol .

We always use MSA when we talk to Egyptians (here, and in Egypt). And like I said, we had no communication problem. I just never though that there would be Egyptians who can't understand our dialect. Especially when we can understand everything they say.

That sounds about right. But it would have had to have been in the summer, when I'm darker. I love how someone can associate me and use my name like that. I feel loved. Thank you Cosmic.

Torture? I'd say she was enjoying it!

:lol I can see now. Don't ask me why, but the first picture you showed I imagened your cat hanging like Jesus :P The second picture looks a whole more ''enjoyable'' for her.

Yeah, I've noticed we have a hard time understanding Moroccan even though it's considered Arabic. Our neighbor is one and she tries to speak more like us to make it more understandable. You guys can speak excellent French though! I wish I could get to that level. Yup, Egyptian is kinda easy because of the movies they release, though that doesn't say I know every single word. Hahaha, shlonek is indeed a word that belongs to Iraqi. Though I'm not sure if either of the replies you wrote are an answer to it, one you wrote ''I'm blue"" the other is "I can", hmmmm. With shlonek you answer in different ways as you see fit. Like zena (I'm fine) and more :)

Saying me being Arabian is kind of vague, don't you think? It means that I could come from Egypt, Libanon, Iraq etc. But you were the closest of all, congrats :D About the eyes though, I'm not sure how it could have gave my background away?

I was pretty close geographically :P (I said Iran).

Yeah I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek by saying "I'm blue" as "shlonek" is derived from the literal "what is your colour" :P But yeah I know you're meant to just answer I'm fine or whatever :D

I don't really care either way, but just so you know: nobody called you an attention whore for playing the ethnicity game, but for writing posts like this. That's like 1000 characters all about you, you, you, you, you, YOU!!! Only robertsan gets to do that on GAF.

Whoa, a bit touchy today?

I just think she needs to know why some people made fun of her on the last page, and her own guess was way off so I thought I'd clarify!

I remember you from ign (you're that guy right?)
Anyway if you are that dude I'm thinking of, you look a lot different than I remember, but I mean that in a good way.
Looking good man :D

As for the whole 'attention whore thing', lets be honest everyone posting pictures of themselves in this thread is an attention whore to some degree. I mean lets not sugar coat it, you're posting your picture for a bunch of strangers to look at in the hope that you're good looking, or interesting enough, for someone to make a comment.

RpgN posted her pic and got a bunch of comments and replies, all she’s doing is replying to those comments. To call her an attention whore, and not everyone else in this thread doing the same thing, is a little unfair IMO.

Speaking of which...

This one goes out to all you sick fucks that wanted to nail my 13 year old sister last week :lol
(sorry for the shitty quality they were taken on her phone)

As you can see, she clealy looks 13 in both, and she even has braces!
Besides, as I constantly remind her, out of the two I'm clearly the sibling that got the best of the genes :D
smh gaf, smh.

The long part was in response to me, and was about language, not about herself.

And NutJobJim: She definitely looks 13 there, I hope GAF feels ashamed of themselves :P

My hypothesis was correct, she looks way more like a 13 year old in these pics. I don't feel so bad now. >_>

I just wanted to be part of the arabic language discussion. I didn't know that egyptian was the most well understood of the accent, since I don't understand shit when it comes to egyptian(not meant as an insult).

Oh and elektrikluv we saudis say "shlonek" like all the time. I particularly have a bedouin saudi accent if you know what that is.

EDIT:Gomu Gomu are you from Saudi Arabia? If so where?
