Probably, yeah. The original series has severe pacing issues and bad animation until the recent arcs. The pacing can be remedied somewhat by watching the One Pace fan edit but this remake should be a much easier watch.I've never seen or tried the original series, so I guess this will be a good entry point?
So is this like a Dragon Ball Z Kai for One Piece, kinda?Probably, yeah. The original series has severe pacing issues and bad animation until the recent arcs. The pacing can be remedied somewhat by watching the One Pace fan edit but this remake should be a much easier watch.

I don't think it will be that fast paced, but my prediction will be that it will hopefully be close to the Live Action's pacing, which has kept a good, forward momentum in terms of getting through arcs.Crazy to start a remake of something that is still on going.
Each episode should just cover one season of events.
Nah the past few years have had good animation to straight up amazing pieces like garp's galaxy impact or things that weren't in the manga at all like the fight with zoro against s-hawk where the animator was told he was only allowed to dodge to keep consistency with the manga fight that happens later. The current anime has such poor pacing and inconsistent animation that I dropped it a long time ago and I've just been following the manga.

considering "season 1" of the show has like 1100 episodes and looks like it will keep going for years to come, it's probably a good idea to make a condensed version now.
