I know its meant to be "inclusive:" but seriously God of War Ragnarok likely outsells all the other nominees combined, so obviously it has a ton of fans who will vote for it.

My guess is the "jury" evenly distributing the awards between all the fairly popular, fairly critically acclaimed games amongst its categories as not to piss off anyone and make sure everyone goes home with something. Not sure I like that. It's always weird to me how an action adventure game can be GOTY but in the action adventure category, be beaten by another action adventure game. It happened in 2019 with Sekiro/DMC5. The Oscars allow certain films to completely sweep the board as to emphasise just how greatly influential and groundbreaking that film is. The VGAs don't really allow that.

But i highly highly doubt Splatoon 3 makes the cut.

I hope Sifu gets some love, I really, really enjoyed that game.
I'm sure Elden Ring and GOW are up there as GOTY contenders, so that won't be a surprise.
Stray will probably win the best indie award.
