Once again, Nintendo shadow dropping games. This time its a Free game called Jump Rope Challenge.



This is actually a pet project from a small team at Nintendo who were working from home during quarantine, and wanted a way to get some quick exercise in. Development culture at Nintendo must really be something else if they can turn something like this into a public freebie.

Judging by the screenshots, they're asking a bit too much.

It could be cool to have a jump rope fitness game a la ring fit

you could even strap the joycon to your hand and use a real rope here

but it looks like all it does is count your jumps? There's no 'game' beyond that

It's meant to be played daily, which is why there's pre-set goals when jumping. You're right that there isn't much to it beyond that. But hey its free, and for something essentially whipped up by a few programmers stuck at home, it's not half-bad.
