Nintendo Could Eventually Give the Switch 2 Its Most-Wanted Upgrade OLED

It baffles me why on launch we don't get the OLED version. Why do we have to wait for different versions? Give me the flagship first then release whatever other version you want
That worked out so well for the Vita. I loved that little thing, but let's not pretend like Nintendo didn't just carry off the most successful system launch since the $99 Gameboy Advance. And honestly, the gripes about the screen the Switch 2 launched with are laughable.

Obviously there are going to upgrades and a lite version. The Switch 3 is probably at least 6 years away. So Nintendo needs to keep the hardware fresh somehow.

I don't touch my Switch 2 bc of the screen.

"Is the Switch 2 be getting the OLED treatment?"

This being acceptable publishing standards for Dualshockers should, alone, be enough to ban it as a source.

What the fuck happened to grammar in journalism?

Sorry, just venting...kind of a pet peeve of mine. Yes, I hope the Switch 2 is getting an OLED model, as I will most assuredly purchase it at prices that are not anally invasive.

Won't be holding my breath on that last point -_-

The way I see people drag on the screen confuses me. Mine is bright, clear and responsive.

If the OLED screen is only "upgrade" then I dont care, I play the portable that often yo care about having OLED screen.

I don't do the portable aspect so I don't need this but would likely double dip just because the Switch 2 is so cheap right now.

If the price ramps up then probably not.

120hz OLED screen may be expensive.

The current Switch 2 screen has latency when gaming sub 120fps which is why an OLED option would appeal to many.

What has this anything to do with what I said? If there's OLED, give me OLED. Nobody mentioned anything about how successful NS2 launch is ffs. Let's see when the OLED drop if you'll be the first to go get one or no

If that's all that matters to you then good for you. Sorry we're in 2026 and we love new tech after experiencing them

If a Switch 2 gets a pro-style update to go along with an OLED screen, I'd find it hard to resist. But if everything's the exact same with just a new OLED panel, I could definitely hold off. The only thing an OLED would have over this one is blacker blacks.
