i dont know whats funnier, the fact they should have actually got some juice head that is cut and huge to do it instead of that regular joe smoe. the fact his helmet almost comes off and he does the majority of the segment with the helmet lopsided, the fact he has the whole speech on the back of hsi shield and they clearly get it on camera or the fact the mic screws up 50 % of the time.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

As much as Rugby doesn't interest me, the Haka (performed only by the New Zealand team based on an ancient Maori tribal war dance) is both crowd energising and kinda cool.

Damn, I wanted to see Toews get increasingly angry the longer he doesn't get picked again.

The Haka is so damn cool.

Here's a hockey version.

HA! Oh god, that really does not work very well. Good on them for doing it though. You really do need exposed skin on your arms, so that when the team slap their forearms in unison it makes that resounding 'crack' noise.

The most interesting part about this video is discovering that New Zealand has a hockey team

They're in the same IIHF division as Australia, Belgium, Mexico and Romania. Australia always kick their ass at the IIHF World Championships (for our pool).

Stomping on ice with skates looks awkward, too, but what the hey.

Burns is injured too now. Havlat, Burns, and Clowe all out, our offense is so fucked. So happy the All-Star break is coming.

Leafs-age knows that feel, bro.

Still got Armstrong and Liles on the IR, and the team has only gotten healthy recently.

I don't know if anyone here follows Dave Hodge on twitter, but all his tweets are blatant trolls / jokes, surprised anyone thought he was serious.
I don't think people thought it was serious, but there are somethings you don't joke about. Someones kids having something to do with KKK is one of those things.
I don't see how the Canucks could take any much more significant salary either, though, unless we can somehow move Ballard. Salo retiring wouldn't even help much since his cap hit is only $2M and he'd need to be replaced (unless Tanev blossoms).

It'd be awesome, though, no doubt. Canucks could always move a forward or two (eg, Raymond) to make it happen, but I wouldn't want depth being compromised either.
I usually value depth a lot, but if it's Zach Parise?

Lame jokes, too.

If anyone's accidentally changed the channel to TSN on a Sunday morning, that's pretty much what he does. The Reporters is pretty terrible, with the likes of Steve Simmons and Dave Naylor getting screen time.

Just checked out Dave Hodge's twitter feed. Someone's obviously been telling him that he's funny. They need to stop.

You're right. Here's hoping, but normally we don't get what we want. We get what we don't expect and then we grow to either like or hate it.

Updated wish list as of today:

Travis Moen
Tim Thomas
Zach Parise

So the Wings are playing amazing but rumors keep circulating that they're preparing to make a big move.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. Messing up team chemistry is a problem.

That said, with his latest interview, I think it's clear that Brad Stuart isn't coming back next year and is headed to San Jose/LA/Anaheim. Might be best to trade him off at the deadline.

the wings haven't been playing amazing...they've played just well enough to win over the last week or so. the last 2 periods last night they did play well, though.

do you really want to go into the playoffs with the same lineup? a scoring forward would be nice.

It's pretty damn funny!'

edit: This is what Hodge tweeted.

"Don't know if it's fair to point this out, but Tim Thomas has three children named Kiley, Kelsey and Keegan"

Burkie tweeted that the Leafs have asked the NHL to host the winter classic, all star game and entry draft in their centennial year, he doesn't know if they will get all 3 but he is hopeful

Kinda old news by him. He's said that for about a year or so that he has requested it from the NHL.

You can't win a blowout every game. It just doesn't happen.

They've won 7 straight and 17 straight home games. They're doing just fine.

A scoring forward would be nice and we have the cap room, but I don't know about screwing up the team chemistry right now. They're clicking well.

I'm a big Rangers fan but since moving up to Boston a few years ago, I've come to like the Bruins a lot as an alt team (as long as they're not playing the Rangers), and especially like Tim Thomas. This was very disheartening to hear today. Grandstanding, empty bullshit. And now the more I read about him, the worse it gets. :(

Sounds like you need your tires pumped. I know a guy...

all true, but they still haven't played well over the past week. not a huge deal. it happens.

i don't think it will be a problem. if the wings have a chance to add a good forward - especially after you've lost in the 2nd round with essentially the same team for the past 2 years - i hope they do it.

He's not going because he got a suspension? The two are completely unrelated. Why wouldn't he go? OV cares about OV and nothing else. This is him being a big baby pouting about his suspension.

A suspended player showing up as an All-Star is stupid. He was suspended and wants to sit out. He clearly hasn't had an All-Star performance throughout this season. Why does he have to show up to a pointless game? NHL fans should discuss actual important things like the inconsistency of the suspensions instead of complaining about non-issues such as this and Tim Thomas not showing up yesterday.

Why? If he's played like an all-star the suspension is irrelevant. Pronger has been suspended plenty of times. He's gonna be in the HOF. No one gives a shit. A suspension is like a penalty. You do your time and move the fuck on.

About that...

Anyway I'm prepared for our team to get destroyed by the Bruins.

Our top line is going to be Mojo - Perreault - Semin.

About that...

Well actually I'd have way more respect for him if he said that. "I've sucked. I'm not going." That's not what this is about. OV's ego got hurt, so now he's trying to make some sort of point. I really dislike him more and more the longer he stays in the league. When he first arrived I loved his style of play and he was a ton of fun to watch. The longer he stays the more I can't stand his attitude and approach with his team. He seems like the type of player destined to never win a cup because he requires the team to be built around him, but doesn't have the "intangibles" to deliver.
