Sell more PS5s in 2022.

In the past cross gen games sold much less on the older hardware. Looks at 2015 PS360 games.
Agree.

I think right now even with stock and Covid issues ppl are transitioning over to next gen quicker than ppl expected.

Its why Sony still wants to release PS5 only games.

Yeah completely different, you are not getting Xbox/PS2 to 360/PS3 jumps.

This gen while great isn't going to be any ultra ginormous leaps that the previous gen can't do. Fast loading, frames, resolution etc is what we got/are getting.

SlimySnake SlimySnake Soo Kojima's going to be making an Xbox Exclusive (presumably) using Sony's proprietary tech in Decima.

Unreal.

Wait, what? goal post? Do you automatically hallucinate things into ps vs Xbox?

I Said this last gen to this gen won't be ginormous jumps like previous gens (also said while great)... Meaning all consoles. Unpluck your bloomers and relax.
What are you talking about Xbox for?
You tried changing the conversation from not getting a decent leap to admitting there has been a decent leap shown but you haven’t played it.

Nah, I believe this gen is gonna be the biggest leap we're ever gonna see for both consoles from their first-party outputs.

Devs Speak Out on DualSense: “Requires a Lot of Work, But Worthwhile”

What did you learn from the development of WRC 9 that you’re applying to WRC 10?

Kylotonn’s Benoit Jacquier, technical director on the WRC series: DualSense haptic feedback requires a lot of work, but it’s worthwhile investment for immersion. We also know that players are always looking for smoother game (60fps minimum) and better visuals quality, so there is also another challenge in making more details and photorealism but improving the framerate at the same time. At least the hardware is helping with more power.

Resident Evil’s director Morimasa Sato added to this from the team’s experience working with the DualSense controller:

“Since the weight of the triggers would determine how shooting a gun felt, it was tricky deciding how much weight felt ‘realistic.’”
OPM notes that Morimasa Sato says that these challenges should be embraced as the PS5 is taking game designs to new heights.

Giant Squid’s (The Pathless) Matt Nava also provided some input concerning the DualSense controller.

“Honestly I was skeptical of the DualSense, wondering if it would be a significant addition. However, after tuning it up and playing The Pathless with it for a week or so, I realized that I missed the feedback it was providing when I went back to testing on a PS4 controller.
The DualSense motors have a wide range of effects they can achieve. I remember accidentally making it feel exactly like turning the key on a car that won’t start. It made me realize that games could use this to create really interesting moments.

CEO of Starward Industries (The Invincible), Marek Markuszewski:

“As with every platform, software needs to catch up a bit. As soon as developers start feeling fully comfortable with the new platform, this is when magic is going to happen, exactly when the most talented coders start their tricks and tweaks unleashing powers which often leaves even the platform’s designers in awe.”

Grain of salt.
I don't believe they'd just do half assed Remasters... I'd be very disappointed if this is all they are. 🤦‍♂️

For a start it would have to be ported to Xbox.

Where is the funding/resources/motivation for that gonna come from?
Isn't it already using DX12 in PC? It shouldn't be a lot of work if we believe what MS has been saying about unifying PC and Xbox developments

So you disagree with him just to agree with him. Ps4 to ps5 is actually closer to ps3 to ps4 than ps2 to ps3. IIRC those games actually did sell more on ps4 than ps3 even tho the upgrade wasn’t huge.

Has Jeff Grub been right about anything in the last year?
Yes, he rightly called a number of events and his summer game mess has been accurate.

He is also reporting on things that's subject to change, he could/should wait until he get confirmation but that's typically when we all get confirmation.

Called the Bethesda and AoE events before anyone that I saw

My step brother has a PS5. I have a Series X and Series S.

We looked at a few games together like AC:V, etc and when sitting on a sofa we honestly could not see a huge difference. It is mostly to do with resolution but from a distance with a decent TV its barely noticeable.

Feel free to post a digital foundry picture that's 4x+ zoomed in but in real life it really isn't that big of a deal.

I decided to sell my Series X and kept the Series S in the end as I'm too busy to have 10+ games installed and I haven't bought a physical game in 3 years.

Exactly except if a game has major framedrops or stutter, honestly visuals are so close that it is nitpicking and mostly invisible to the naked eye.
And for now I feel like this gen will be very close between both and only the exclusives will shine above the rest.

Sure if you’re happy with the HZD performance on PC then enjoy the downgrade when it runs on Xsex without any optimisation.
A 1070 can run It at 4K with very high settings at 60fps.
Do you really think that a XSX couldn't handle that as is?

SSD so fast you can load a huge amount of assets just in the time the user turns, total control of graphics pipeline thanks to GE, Machine Learning, better AI and physics thanks to better CPUs, but all you can think about are load times, fps and res?

If your allegation is based on what we've seen so far in this gen, then you're definitely naive.

The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Runs At 60 FPS On PS5

Daedalic’s Jonas Hüsges talked about the upcoming game and had the following to say about it:

One Trend That Is Already Apparent Is The Increased Amount Of 60fps Titles. This Is Certainly A Priority For Us, Too. Gollum Is Agile And His Movement Is Vital To Our Gameplay So It Is Very Important That The Game Feels Responsive At All Times.

Hüsges went on to praise the PS5. The following is what he had to say about the new console:

I Am Curious How The SSD Will Impact Level Design. PS5 Aims To Reduce The Barriers Between Players And Games In Every Area – Load Times, Haptical Response, Audio, Visuals — To Make The Experience As Immersive As Possible. Some Of The Tech Is More Splashy — Like The DualSense’s Adaptive Triggers – But Everything Is Built Towards This Idea. The Next Generation Isn’t Just About One Gimmick. It Is About You Feeling Closer To The Game Than Ever Before.
