I looked it up and it's "Chuugen no Hasha", not Nakahara.
There's an old three kingdoms game from Namco for the Famicom which it could be based on.

Maybe Katamari couldn't be done on DS because of the graphical capabilities, so they changed it to PSP. The graphics never seemed very complicated to me (even when you're small things are very simplistic) but maybe that's it. I would think that some level of detail management could make it quite possible, but perhaps they want to develop it so that models hold the same detail no matter what size your Katamari is.

Katamari visuals are all about scale. Visually it might not seem impressive, but to go from tiny foot size to gigantic cloud heaven and continent sucking size is pretty hefty.

Some more info...

Every Extend Extra from Bandai.
- a shooting action game where you save up objects for a chain explosion
- probably based on this: http://nagoya.cool.ne.jp/o_mega/product/e2.html
- maybe linked with Mizuguchi?

Sengoku Musou
- 4 players over wireless

Katamari
- Route changes as you progress with branching paths
- wireless versus mode

All within the last month there has been four games I have been interested in purchasing with the PSP. Finally, the system is looking to actually have a meaning in life.

This is the NES version, not NDS

I am not aware that Namco has Sanguo game before.

Hahaha - neither was I - but reading the characters and the title screen - looks like it.

Quickly! Someone get JPN Katamari sales numbers!

90,715 Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy (We Love Katamari) (Namco) (7/7/05) - through July 31/05

Decent sales for a quirky, oddball title, but certainly not a top-selling franchise in Japan.
