Whats with the two Switch 2 sizes? Is that for people who upgrade from Switch 1 to Switch 2?

It's written confusingly, seems like it's trying to say that the Switch 1 version might actually run at a higher resolution on Switch 2, maybe because it has worse textures / effects.

We need a proper explanation of these, lol.

Why is Switch 2 in TV mode file bigger than every other version?
The Switch 2 version has two video modes while others versions no, so probably low res textures (Original textures) and high res textures. And if you don't want the high textures installed is the same size as the others versions.

Peace walker switch 30fps.

Konami. It's a PSP game. I'm fairly certain the switch can handle that at 60.

Least no issues seem to be present for the Switch 2 versions.

yo, 1080p on Switch 1 is surprising to see tbh.
I expected them to have like a 864p-ish resolution docked and like a 640p res in handheld mode.

the original version ran at 1024x768, which is around 15% below 720p in terms of pixels rendered.

running at 1440p on both Series S and Switch 2 on the other hand shows once again a lack of care... like... wtf? lol

Switch 1 is going to have PS4 textures while the Series S and SW2 (Docked) are going to have higher res textures.

and what exactly does that have to do with the render resolution?

the Series S is clearly underutilized if it runs the same settings as the Switch 2 with the exact same res and fps output

As much as I want to relive MGS4 after experiencing it for the first time in 2008 alongside DualShock 3 controller release back then, I hope Konami can port MGS Rising to PS5.

xbox ss 60fps?!

A PS3 gen game running at 60fps should be the bare minimum expectation for a Series S console. Why surprised? Series S already ran Xbox360 era games at 60fps, heck even Xbox One era games runs at quadrupled resolutions and frame rates on Series S. Don't expect current gen games to run at 60fps on it though.

it's still the series s which is a shit console so I expected it to be 30 frames

Really happy to see 60fps.

After a shaky launch of MGS Collection 1 - I skipped it until recently.
Seems they really fixed up the product and its in a great place.
The graphic design of the overall menus is really well done as is the extra bonus story recap pages - connecting the dots from the MSX titles all the way thru MGSV.
In the end, they did a really nice job with the full package. Now I can enjoy the full series for all times.

I get its a mierda console from current gen games perspective, but it's hardware is more than capable to run older gen games at much better res and frame rates. Heck, Mad Max game runs on Series S at 120fps, last time I remember seeing a Digital Foundry video on that game.

it's 60fps on Switch 2 which is half as powerful on both GPU and CPU compared to the Series S.

so you had really weird expectations towards a game designed for a console from 2006... that was less powerful than a console from 2005...

by that logic it should run at 60 fps on the switch one

no it shouldn't, because the Switch 1 is barely 1.7x as powerful as the PS3 in docked mode, and almost on par in handheld mode. so it's already surprising to see it running at 1080p 30fps and 720p 30fps respectively tbh. and I expect frame drops on it too

This one is surprising though, as Peace Walker HD ran at 1080p/60fps on the Xbox 360 and PS3 too, it was running in a better state than MGS2/3/4 on the same hardware, yet now we've got MGS4 performing better on Switch 1 than Peace Walker?

Switch 1 runs RDR1 at higher res and more stables FPS than the PS3 version. No surprise here.

yeah but that's a bit different. MGS4 ran really badly on PS3, and ran at a super weird anamorphic sub 720p resolution.

so I expected 900p max, maybe lower, in docked mode. and maybe 640p in handheld mode.
especially to stabilise the feamerate

damn does Nintendo gimp their Hardware or what
knowing this the switch one impossible Ports really were miracles

the Switch used the most powerful mobile chip available in 2017... so they didn't have much choice when designing a handheld.

there was Nvidia's Tegra X1, or less powerful alternatives by Qualcomm and Mediatek basically, and that's it. and they chose the X1
