Mature Visual Novel YU-NO Gets Western Switch Release Date And Day 1 Edition

Get a free 8-bit action game

Spike Chunsoft has revealed that a western release of visual novel adventure YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World is headed to Nintendo Switch. We do love good, snappy game titles.

Believe it or not, this game was first released way back in 1996 featuring much racier scenes than the version you'll experience today. Switch will be receiving a port of the much more recent HD remake, which has still received an 'M for Mature' rating despite the cutbacks.

The game follows the story of Takuya Arima, who receives a suspicious package from his late father. It contains a device which allows him to travel between parallel worlds, and with help from his friends, teachers, and lovers (plural, it seems), Arima must unearth the mystery of his father's legacy. We have a key feature list for you below.
Key Features

The Power of the Reflector
- Explore multiple timelines and revisit events through the unique gaming mechanic of the Reflector Device. This allows you to explore every timeline in detail. Activate the Reflector Device’s Auto Divergence Map System to return to an event with more knowledge and new items.

Your Father's Clues
- Solve all the mysteries of Sakaimachi to uncover the secrets lying beneath Sword Cape. Collect items from one timeline and use them in the next to unlock Sword Cape's hidden truth.

Love Beyond Worlds
- Can you find the hidden world waiting beyond Sakaimachi? Fall in love with every character to reach the true ending to this 40+ hour visual novel.
Nintendo Switch will receive a Day 1 Edition which includes a voucher code for '8-BIT YU-NO'S GREAT ADVENTURE'. This add-on is an action game featuring the characters from the main game in 8-bit style.

The game will be releasing on 1st October for $49.99. At present, we only have confirmation of a North American release; here's hoping European news will follow shortly.

I like the new artstyle better. But cutting all the scenes is lame. I added the game to my wishlist awhile ago but not sure if I'll play this or the old translated version. I've been really enjoying the anime so far.

As someone who only got recently into VNs, I am quite looking forward to this! Heard great things about Yu-No.

I'd also wish that someone would do a Dune VN.
