Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Gameplay Trailer

I can absolutely understand why hardcore fans would be upset with the change in direction, but I personally am interested to see what this new style is going to bring. I just want more info immediately.

Also we know extremely little about the gem system right now so let's not jump to conclusions on that. It even says in the Game Informer article that they haven't even fully decided how it's going to work yet.

Man after that cg trailer which I thought was bad, and had me in doubt of what the game would be. This EARLY real time footage has got me hype again. I don't care what anyone says this shit looks great, and can only go Up Up Up! from here.

Slight bummer about assists.

I hoping no playable Xmen isn't True though.

Couldn't post reactions since I was at PSX and was getting hype for Mahvel and Capcom Cup.

But I didn't realize while being there that assists are gone. Fuck that.
Open mind but this is not on my radar anymore. We are getting Mahvel 3 on PC which is good enough for me. Its my favorite and now it can be preserved forever

Producers said X Men are fair game

My reaction to the trailer and the info was pretty much

But after watching the trailer and reading the articles several times again, I am actually really hyped for this game.

Has there been any official word on what team is developing this?

Were the Iron Galaxy rumors true or is it a Capcom internal thing? Or Eighting again maybe?

After watching the trailer several times I'm starting to think that this game might actually be earlier in development than we think. X is the most hype new character, but they barely show him in the trailer at all. He has no voice, no facial animation and no shown special moves other than what I'm assuming is supposed to be Shotgun Ice. Considering the evidence I feel like he might only be half finished.

I just read the OP. Wait. I still can't believe what I'm reading. So, it's 2v2, and there are no assists. Uh. This isn't Marvel.

I've been seeing those comments from developers about removing features and changing gameplay to make it more accessible for casuals a lot more in the past couple years. They always make it sound like shit is too hard for normal people to process. Shit, I was casual when I was a child and could handle it.

Loved what I saw. I feel it's a return to old school Marvel while taking the lessons they learned from SFxT and applying it here. I really hope they handle this one with care and don't release it too early like SFV.

Marvel Super Heroes is a fighter I love from Capcom so I'm happy to see the infinity gems return.

Not crazy about the CG trailer or the current visuals in game but I hope it cleans up and adds a bit more flare to itself as it develops. Those gem activation backgrounds gotta go though, they look super cheap. Really excited to see how this progresses.

The no assists is really the only big departure for the series out of those things. MvC1 was 2v2.

I do wish there was a simple, single assist system like in MvC1 with assist only characters just like that game too. That seems like it would have been perfect while still going for the accessibility they want. But it also could have been too similar to MvC1.

I'm very optimistic and open minded about this. I'm excited for something new. The series hasn't let me down yet when it comes to gameplay, even though there may have been times where it seemed like it was going to. The (EXTREMELY EARLY) gameplay looks hype enough, and they've earned the benefit of the doubt.

Instant character switching mechanic sounds interesting, but the visuals are ehhh...

I'll just hope it looks better in a few months.

Looks great. Things like no assists/2v2/etc. are a drastic change in direction, enough that it might have annoyed me if they hadn't brought the UMvC3 remaster. But they did, meaning that now we'll be able to play either game based on what appeals to us, and I think it will be better to have 2 very different approaches to the concept rather than just UMvC3.5.

I don't know how to feel about the game yet, i have mixed feelings. The fast-paced combos looks like they are still there, and overall the mechanics and mixups seems good. But in the other hand, the art direction and the simplicity of not having an assist and just being 2v2 is just...no good. Simplicity its not something good when it comes to fighting games in the long run...Time has demostrate that.

The art direction for now seems weird. Maybe it just the color focus or the fact that the characters (at least Carol), seems out of placed for some reason. Ryu, while being a Human character, still looks cartoonish, while Carol Danvers doesn't, or at least doesn't look all that well. Its like there are different light and color focus for every character, like they are fighting in different levels, or having different art styles in the same game.

In UMVC3 most characters looked human, and it didn't look out of placed seeing Albert Wesker fighting Amaterasu. In here i can't see it yet.

it looks like shit and seems like a huge downgrade from MvC3, and I'm really not a fan of them going with a mcu focus either at the expense of like wolverine for example

but still despite all that...looks fun. kinda reminds me a bit of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

yo why does the game look visually look worse than marvel 3 though

like, not just char models/lighting but also hitsparks and shit

wassup w/ that

We all should also remember that Marvel 3 had a lot of changes a improvements from build to build...Hell, in the E3 video all the characters originally had Air-dash!

Looking forward to this. Interested to see where they're headed with it. Seems like it's taking influence from SFxT and TvC as a baseline, which I think in theory is not a bad thing at all. Just depends on the execution.

Pretty intrigued about the Infinity Stones; I thought they would work like in the original Marvel Heroes arcade, i.e. provide a temporary power-up, but if they work like the groove system from SvC2 (which I never played), this means they change what techniques you can perform, like Alpha 3's isms, right?

Plus it's quite interesting that you choose one stone for both of your characters. If the stones give specific characters extra advantages (again, like Marvel Heroes, which might not be the case), that adds a layer of strategy in choosing your characters and stone.

Really excited to watch the next trailer and character reveals today. It's confirmed to be CG only? I was hoping for gameplay. :(

Marvel 3 was more stylized with heavy shadows, this is more "next gen" so I can get behind MVC3 being more pleasing to the eye.

Chracter models are definitely not worse though.

My predictions on the marvel side

1. Blackwidow
2. Antman
3. Black Panther
4. Luke Cage
5. Jessica Jones
6. Dare Devil
7. Groot
8. Gamora
9. Valkyrie

The art direction is worse so far. The Marvel characters look fine but the Capcom characters don't. I don't know why they started the trailer off by zooming into MegaMan's dead eyes.

Other thing that is quietly disturbing me its the approach to Marvel characters. I hope they don't do some stupid shit like putting Steve Rogers without his mask on, or things like that.

as someone who wasn't into MvC at all i'm hyped for this

1. no assist sounds great
2. 2v2 > 3v3
3. MCU focus is cool as i don't read comics

If they get movie Gamora, the MCU focus will be redeemed, and I will be ashamed of my words and deeds criticizing it. Best waifu.

Ryu's kick from SF3 is too badass, made me smile when I saw it again.
Just 2 days ago I was thinking about Mega Man and here he is, sooo damn good.
