Sony seriously needs to move the Playstation HQ back to Japan and fire all the american heads. Christ this is getting ridiculous.

We also have morons trying to assert its perfectly OK and a good thing that SP games are being made always online when there is literally never a reason to do so.

The "fucking stupid" level is reaching an all time high with these console warriors. The Reeeeeee-types were always slow and clearly deranged, so I am not surprised that they are defending it.
Stop generalising and bringing other topics like offline gaming here. You’re obsessed with fighting the warriors as they’re obsessed with their own topics. Chill. Don’t generalise and grab a cup of tea.

Dude i'm with you and i like the abrasive tone but don't you think this is a tiny bit excessive?

Don't get a warning because of this futile shit, it's not worthy

Agree with Sony on this one.
that scene was psychological dangerous because it was interactive. millions of unsupervised kids are playing on consoles. if this goes viral many of them could get the urge to try it.

Thanks for looking out. I was referring to places like Twitter/Era with the reee comment. Edited my post to make that more clear.

Nah, warriors on all sides need to be called out. They are the problem with video game discussions and their continued defense of regressive policies hinders the evolution of the medium and actively makes things worse for everyone involved. However, you are right and I didn't need to derail the thread with the offline remark. Apologies for that. I will leave it up to show my blunder unless the mods wish to remove it.

As for tea, already got some. Blue of London, Republic of Tea. Best I have ever had, I can't get enough of it.

I really don't care if they're a child or not, if you want to see a person's face being sliced off then you're a sadistic sociopath. What could you possibly enjoy about that?

Probably you have more mental problems that the people you target with your comment. It’s clear from your comment you can’t separate real life from video games, please seek help

Edit: I didn’t realize you was being sarcastic with this comment to other user. So my fault

leads to fear. Fear leads to xbox.
Its a mature rated game, no way shape or form should they cut content from it when as sony they make some of the most visceral games ever to come out.

If they are worried about "kids" thats a parents job to monitor what their child is playing, not a corporations

Go Go Neo Rangers!
Finally had a chance to watch the video. If this is being censored then there's a lot of games and movies that shouldn't be available on Playstation.

I agree but!
- Parents suck at parenting and then blame companies like Apple when kids brought a tons of games etc.

Also I remember when my neighbor brought GTA 5 for their kids 11 and 13 of age… who you think they gonna blame ? Yeah the platform holders!

Just saying there’s a reasoning behind that! Bottom line is. Censorship exists on media because of people who don’t know how to monitor their kids or hyper frantic people who get uproar using the old “video games are too violent” examples.

So what about the plethora of other games with mature content? Like their own first party IP?

Jokes aside, this game doesn’t look fun at all.

You’d basically be punishing yourself playing this game. It’s practically a simulator; No fun, requires no skill and has no witty implementation of mechanics.

There’s basically no purpose outside of it being an interactive torture chamber.

But yeah, Sony needs to stop interfering. If it’s intended for its adults, then it should only be played by adults. It’s not Sony’s job to play the parent here. If it passes ESRB regulations, they should remain neutral, otherwise it opens them up for tedious discrimination.

I guess we’ll know if they made the right choice if someone’s mom decides to sue Sony (of all things) for allowing their kids to play the game on their platform lol.

This isn't even remotely true.

Some of the best horror is because of horror done to children. It takes it up a notch.

In fact there are many episodes of Law and Order SVU where unspeakable things happen to kids, because it keeps the viewer interested.

Let's not pretend bad things don't happen to you until you turn 18.

If we want video games to be accepted as "art" like movies, we have to be able to tackle hard subjects, but we also have to let B movie directors do thier thing.

To pretend games are above scenes like this is a farce.

Gimme a single example of depictions of gratuitous gore inflicted on children in TV or movies.

That scene reeks of horrible gore porn. Nothing of value was lost.

That said I'm sure there are some slippery slope arguments, but with TLOU2 it's pretty clear Sony doesn't have anything against gratuitous violence in games.

I’m sure all 5 of you are devastated..

Lol, but seriously, cutting off and wearing some ones face maybe a bit too far. But I guess not for this “ idiocracy “ society we live in today.

All I’m thinking is, why is this stuff needed at all? It’s really just shock value content for a generation that has been completely desensitized on gaming violence, the bar has to be pushed forward since people need worse things to get the same reaction. It’ll never stop unless someone put the foot down. Next time you’re cutting the face off on someone who’re still alive and tied up and screaming in pain.

Are they as violent as this one? I don’t know? They own/ made the games, they can assume responsibility but let’s face it no company would like to be sued or get “cancelled” on the internet over a game they do not made/own!

That’s the reasoning

Should have banned the game entirely. Absolute no reason to have this shit in any game.

Hell i would go so far to ban the developers next.

These devs knew exactly what they are doing.

What's next, child porn rape ( oh wait 3000 year old dragon lady ) simulator? because in some 3rd world country they think its acceptable?

Fuck them.

Meh. This gets censored? You see worse shit in movies all the time. Games will never be taken seriously as a medium until artists can fully unleash. They'll always be seen as for kids.
I'm against censorship but I don't thinks this is what's holding games back. If anything the likes of Jack Thompson and co would have a field day with headlines like "Playstation lets you scalp sisters face off and wear it as a mask" or some nonsense like that. Unfortunately video games got a bad rep early, that they cause violence, that movies didn't.

Last of Us part 2 from Sony has extremely brutal and far more realistic depiction of violence.

Because they own the platform is a terrible excuse.

Even still, there are far more games on the platform that are not produced that are more violent.

Not to mention movies.

Preach. They can't even give one reason to have any of these murder simulator games. We need to ban it all and stop enabling these Neanderthal, homicide fetishists.

I'll stop with the sarcasm now

It gets even more hilarious when u consider people thinking they live in a world that isn't censored. And u can just do whatever u want.

Go make a game where u say the N word all day long to people as what guy, aint happening in the us.
Go make a child rapist game, not going to happen
Go make a isis terrorist training simulator game, not going to happen
Go make a enslave black people and sell them to the highest buyer game, not going to happen.
Go make a nazi concentration camp jew simulator, where your only goal is to gas the jews in the most realistic way possible, not going to happen.

Censorship is everywhere, people thinking they live in a "free world" without rules are delusional.

These clowns overstayed there welcome in mine view, for all i care they could ban there ass on name wise and basically blacklist them on playstation or whatever platform the next day. So whenever a game comes out that has one of those dev clowns in there the game gets banned from release. Have fun never making games again. Hope it was worth it.

Honestly, you guys flung shit at Nintendo when they were doing this BEFORE the implementation of a ratings system. But now Big Momma Sony's looking out for you sweet kids.

Where it all began

Oh well I was curious about this game and now its 100% off my radar. I loathe censorship in games. If people are offended by gore then don't play the game lol.

You're incorrect, even in this very thread. Read it again; the Sony stalwarts are agreeing with them. I don't want to draw attention to them by quoting them.

Do we know if you CAN do this in the game, or if you MUST do this in the game? If you must do this in the game then it's too much in my opinion...even for a die hard horror fan like me. If you CAN do this, but the game does not force you to do this....then I don't agree with the censorship.

Because people such at parenting is not my fault nor the companies on why I should be punished for my experience just because they know how to put a penis in a vagina and thats their limit of critical thinking.

If something is a gift again its up to the parents to do due diligence and even take it away. Hell I got the first manhunt for christmas from my grandma, my parents looked at the game and said I was to young for it and decided to give me it when they. felt I was mature enough to handle the graphic content

Companies should not be held accountable nor should they listen to these snowflakes because they cant do their job

You’re using the cut off face as a mask, you’re 100% forced to do this.

I find the discussion highly amusing tbh. Imagine a game where you slowly fondle a woman’s breasts, or have sex, slow careful interactions, close up view just like this. Would that be alright? I mean it’s not even on the same level, it’s just plain ol sex, but I can guarantee that the game would still be internationally banned and the dev would be roasted into oblivion.
If you stop and think about it it’s all backwards. Nothing seems to be off limit when it comes to violence and killing but sex is oh so sinful and needs to be held to a minimum and we can’t have lustful character designs or anything like that. But cut a face off a dead girl and wear it as a mask is fine and censoring that is worth a boycott lol

Until seeing the forum thread, I didn't even realize this game existed, and I don't have any particularly strong feelings about the potential scene in question (though it also didn't bother me). I'm more disappointed, but not shocked, to see we're still dealing with a Sony that randomly decides it doesn't like certain content and forces companies to choose between making alterations or not releasing the game on their system. Certainly, Sony has the right to decide what's on their platform, but when Martha is Dead in some sense comes closer in spirit to the garbage I tend to play on Playstation, as opposed to Sony's big-budget cinematic experiences, it does continue to make me consider whether I really want a PS5.
