I'm legit shocked this game didn't get a sequel or more mythologies back in the day. I was 99% gaming on PC back in the PS1 days so a lot of my experiences with PS1 classics such as MGS and Twisted Metal were on the PC ports. I did like MK games and I always wanted to try this so now with the MK Kollection, I finally had a reason to dive back in. And I absolutely love that they made a game that made you want to "komit" a fatality on yourself from the amazing level design and the platforming.
You play as MK hall of famer, Sub-Zero. There's a great set of FMV cheese to go around to explain the story, all which I didn't hear because my kids were screaming they were hungry while I was trying to play this game. Dumb kids. But I think you are trying to be a cuck for the bad guys.
The first level has you exploring a highly detailed cave where a stone will smash you into giba if you didn't pay attention. And it's kind of glitchy and I liked that. The enemies feel like they were placed in the game last minute and they're easy, which reminds me a lot of MK. They didn't really explain that the very end of the 2nd floor your on, you need to barely jump on a ledge so you can trampoline down to the ground safely, a staple of 90s gaming where you didn't have your hand held for their design. Then you fight Scorpion in the most brutality way ever. And if you catch him at the edge of the screen, he sometimes just sits there which is great for fun.
I made it to level 2 where the platforming begins and it's a treat. You really have to pay close attention to jumping into something before it reaches you because you don't want to see the fmv of him falling over and over again. And the keys you obtain are all over so if you accidentally went too high on a wind tunnel, you need to talk to your death so you can try again. It's a blast.
Please tell me it only gets better. I like a good BDSM game.
