AFAIK America has free speech and free association.
There could be any kind of fringe group that defend whatever BS.
Hehe yeah "fringe".

Or maybe there are actual Marxists out there who have infiltrated Western countries and are pushing their agenda from within?
For example, very little people have actually questioned why is there a Canadian city that flies the Communist China flag? And immediately right after, they started banning ads criticizing Hong Kong?

Just a coincidence I'm sure...

Funny they call it conspiracy when we see it play out right in front of us. You could argue that Russia manipulating western politics over the course of decades is far fetched, but the rise of admiration for Communism and Socialism in the West is very much real. Pretty much most of what Bezmenov said is actually happening today. The left wants you to ignore that and treat it as conspiracy because they are so ideologically entrenched in all this.

Exactly. Everything he predicted 30 years ago is happening HERE AND NOW.

Literally merely having a gay character in a game is labeled as "having a political agenda" widely on this forum.. but "it's just Call of Duty" if they include a bunch of right-wing politics?

I don't have any issue with COD BTW.. they can put whatever they want in their game.

I'm laughing at the fact nobody who thinks "gay people in a game is a political agenda" will do anything but strongly support this stuff showing up in COD on this forum.. you can pretty much guarantee that.
This isn't "right wing politics" you fucking idiot. The game is clearly alluding to some controversial cold war shit. If bringing up the 80's in a cold war context is "right wing", than God help us, why even bother with this series anymore.
LOL, thank you for demonstrating my point for me.

What's sad is that it's considered by anyone to be a political agenda to include greater diversity in media.
Is this why your acting retarded. People are laughing at that stupid "they" shit?

That is not "Cultural Marxism".
That is pure and simple greed capitalism.

The same reason we don't hear much about human-right violations in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries.

However, if you are a follower of the Super Conspiracy Theory that there is a global cabal of Muslins, Communists, Satanists, LGBTQ+, and others that run the World, well... I feel sorry for your family.

The original Black Ops subtly threw some weight behind a JFK assassination conspiracy, and almost flat out told the player that Mason killed JFK. To me the real defining feature of the original Black Ops was taking conspiracy theories to their extreme - defection, indoctrination, etc. I see this conspiracy theory base as being an extension of that, because just like any theory saying anyone other than Oswald shot JFK/planned to shoot JFK is bullshit, so is this theory. It just so happens there's a shitload of espionage and conspiracies thrown around the Cold War, which makes sense and makes it an inherently compelling setting for a game literally called "Black Ops."

Also, character customization for the single player is one of the more interesting additions to a COD campaign. Modern Warfare 2019 was beautiful with some interesting story beats, but I like the idea of my character being my character. Alex in Modern Warfare could easily have been replaced with a custom character and still have the same impact, so allowing choice in that aspect in Cold War will be interesting. I'm all for new things. I just hope the mission loadout from Black Ops 2 makes a return, that was my all time favorite COD campaign addition.

You know what I'm so tired of among many other things? That some posters consider SJWs and anti-SJWs equal but on the different sides of the same coin. No. We, who speak against SJW nonsense are coming from a place of thousands of years of natural civilization development while they are just fucking this in the ass.

The ones who make that false equivalency are always SJW apologists, if not SJW themselves.

It really makes you think.

"In short, Bezmenov’s suggestion in the full interview is that extending equality to the United States’ non-white, non-male population made it ripe for Soviet invasion."

This is very far fetched. Like, holy shit. They are so terrified they feel the need to put the nazi stamp on it to try and divert people from listening to bezmenov.

Does the Middle East care enough to have this information censored? Like, what relevance do the violations have to do with us?

Meanwhile, Marxists care a lot about censoring both the past and present once they seize power. They're the same ones who encouraged destroying monuments, and now we see the same thing happening in the West.

If there is a secret order out there, they're not going to be diverse. That's always been the irony of Marxism. They control a lot of useful idiots at the bottom, but the people at the top are as homogeneous as it gets.

COD: Puts far-right politics in games, Kotaku complains.

NeoGAF: KoTakU R So Stupid!

edit: Look if Kotaku are just totally wrong here, and this isn't actually "right wing politics".. then yeah, that's stupid..

COD didn't put in politics it put in a historical, actual person and his actual views ... the political spin is kotakus.... because the left wish the guy never existed and the right likes the guy(not that he's super well known either way( for being doom and gloom about communism and it's intentions .

Wow, that writer really hates Sargon of Akkad. Not too fond of him myself, seems very arrogant.

Divide and conquer was a legit strategy by the Soviets; they didn't care who they empowered, because the thought was that when we are in a transitional phase, we will be weak enough for another super power to come in and change us. That could be with Soviet plants, that could be with militarization. At the end of it, the Soviets still thought of people of color and the sexual repressed as second class citizens (see Russia right now, for example) and would repress them with immense force.

Its not a representation of the current time (although this is pretty shit timing on Activision's part) but a representation of what they actually were doing during the Cold War.

So, Kotaku is really into opinion articles still? I didnt see any mention of possible other sides of the story in that articles; the fact that the quote was a legit part of the story of the Cold War, that was a legit strategy of the Soviets or the fact that the COD's story is more about historical accuracy (well, kind of. It is COD after all, they dont have the best track record.) than making a statement.

After weeks of watching trauma replayed on the news and the most decisive election in history looming over head, is it fucked up that the last place I want to read about actual conspiracy theory is in a videogame? Not to be corny but can't some shit just be fun?

Remember when talking about conspiracy theories was fun and interesting?

Now the merest hint that you might even think about a conspiracy theory is seen as a bad thing.

Why shouldn't Call of Duty indulge in conspiracy theory stuff? It is a fictional story after all.

It seems like it was pretty standard in entertainment not too long ago. X Files. Dan Brown novels. Etc.

That is one of the emerging Super Conspiracy Theories out there in the last decade.
It is a way to explain Islamic terrorism, the rise in power of China, and the perceived decadence of the Judeo Christan Western Society.

It is very popular in Europe and Steve Bannon has adopted some of these talking points.

So, every time you see a meme about George Soros, you are a few clicks away from that Super Conspiracy Theory.

Yeah keep it out if it's not the premise of the game. I don't want any politics in my JRPGs, but if it's a game based in history, it will be steeped in politics.

the flippant denials in this thread mean Kotaku is probably on to something. mfs just don't like thinking about it.

Pretty much every story told about a historical event, and the written "history" itself, has some political bent to it. As does any and all news written about politics.

But again, I'm not complaining about COD here.. and as I stated in my original post I edited, I can see how the Kotaku article isn't really proving a right-wing bent anyways.

Well my from my point of view, I don't think a conspiracy like that actually involves a diverse group, but someone more powerful who calls the shots.

For example, Islam and China both hate each other, but both of them also a share a hatred of the West. An all powerful group would prefer to use them as pawns in order to destabilize us.

Same with LGBT. It's impossible for there to be Gay Muslims who want to rule the world (lol). But that doesn't mean both LGBT and Islam still vote for Left-wing parties that try to achieve that.

The article in Kotaku is not important.

Why do leftists see each other as brothers, while right-wingers of different countries are hostile to each other?

Please nobody answer my questions.
Mine is just a reproach.

Its Very alarming the hatred towards anyone who support more traditional values and even towards patriotism, the US flag. This is actually a global movement, not exclusive to the US.

The degradating look of the typical white college Young Men and women is enough to tell that theres something wrong with the mordern education system.

If a bit random, apologies, but I wonder if there is a correlation between the amount of soy found in snacks eaten pubescent and post-pubescent boys and their proclivity to contribute nonsensical pablum to discussion?

No need to reply, it’s a rhetorical question.

Maybe people don't like it when the conspiracy theory is ACTUALLY TRUE.
I'm sure you can talk about aliens and area 51, or atlantis all you want and these people won't bat an eye.
