There were many moments in Blood and Truth that I felt like John Wick, but that's only the gun play so probably third person action game so you can see the melee combat. Has to be linear though.

A John Wick game already kinda exists. If you pick the Hitman class in Watchdogs legion you'll be able to approximate the feel pretty well. They totally modeled all the moves after him (even his jog lol). However I don't think a real JW game should be a third person shooter. He's defined by his absolute and total accuracy, so that can't be dependent on the player. Instead, I think it should be a character action game, where the gameplay is centered around your ability to crowd control, rather than hit targets. It should be a cross between the Arkham games and a Platnum game.

Imagining "John Wick" Game in Unreal Engine 5, a Dream that could be Come True

🔹Have you ever considered a John Wick video game? undoubtedly all the gamers who saw that movies imagined the game. There are also rumors that the liongate studio is making a John Wick action game, we tried to make this dream a reality with the help of the most advanced Unreal Engine feature such as ray tracing, screen space reflections, Lumen, Nanite and Metahuman to Create Keanu Reeves, hope you enjoy!

There are also rumors that the liongate studio is making AAA John Wick action game which has not yet officially confirmed!

Imagine if you could use The Continental as a fully explorable hub space to build your arsenal, upgrade weapons, craft new suits, find Easter eggs, and so on. It could also be the place where you can accept and launch missions from, king of like Mother Base from MGSV.

Story-wise, a prequel would be really cool. Play as John Wick as you take on increasingly difficult assassination contracts.

Oh boy another one of those "[insert game] in Unreal Engine 5 with generic assets and extremely off model uncanny valley faces" for-clicks videos. It's an improvement though, there's some actual gameplay! Usually it's just a guy walking through environments. If anything, these mockups show just how talented real devs are: advanced technology is nothing without talent.

There's a surprising number of Wick-accurate badass takedowns, given it's just one class. Clearly the devs were big fans. If they made a JW a regular shooter it's hard to imagine it being much different.

Live service GaaS, where you all play assassins who work for the high table, in PvP battle royale around New York. Keanu just shows up once at the start, in a pre-rendered cutscene that’s over in two minutes.

You start the game with a tiny pistol, and must buy upgrades with real money.

$70 release, with a battle pass for another $70.

Make great levels, scoring, different paths. Highly replayable.

And don't forget to allocate an entire year to implement Polish.

a proper AAA JW game would be extremely challenging and the burden and brunt of its development will fall on the shoulders of the animation team.
The animation quality of this game will be a make-or-break factor for its success

here's what I think can make a JW game one of the best 3rd person action games of all time, akin to Uncharted and TLOU2
  • fluid animations for multiple takedowns and an innovative approach to CQC with maximum player agency and motion matching [akin to TLOU2]
  • impactful gunplay and destruction
  • retaining the visual essence and mood of the movies while building upon it
  • level variety with unique enemy types that look menacing and fight completely differently [visually and gameplay-wise]
  • motorcycle/car chases that are not lackluster and just merely there for the cinematic effect
  • different chain moves/combos depending on the type of weapon being used
  • could be a prequel to the first movie exploring the heyday of the Continental and a more ruthless JW

Yeah this is unfortunately probably the closest anyone's going to get to what actually ends up happening if anything.

given the cast and crew's love for games and how much the movies themselves already resemble games [they have repeatedly taken inspiration from videogames], it will hopefully be something more tasteful than that

Definitely should be a linear shooter, either first or third-person, perhaps with some unique combat system or a gimmick that would reflect on the stylish gun fights from the movies.

It would also be great if it was a VR game. Anyone who played Pistol Whip or that John Wick mod for H-L Alyx will know what's up.

Oh god, not this shit again...

I, for one, don't want to be JW. I'd rather play as JW in 3rd person and be able to see him execute those stylish moves because most of us can't be that simultaneously creative AND stylish.
plus so many of his moves are not possible in VR: sliding, Jujitsu, fast reloading, etc.
that's why the movies are popular because you are engrossed in the spectacle of elegant moves that only skilled stuntmen can perform
there are already MANY VR games that make you feel like JW. I personally want a linear, cinematic experience with beautiful set pieces, animations, and physics.
