Is a Beyond Two Souls re-release for the PS4 a likelihood?

I'm about half way through Beyond, but I would much rather prefer a Heavy Rain port.

Not that Beyond isn't good, but it just isn't as gripping or interesting as Heavy Rain was.

The female cyborg concept they did was interesting, something they possibly pursue
for PS4

I really, really hope so. I loved Heavy Rain and would buy this in a heartbeat on PS4. It was too late in the previous gen for me to get into.

I hope they do it, I'm pretty much holding out from buying it on PS3 because I'm almost sure they'll make a PS4 version.

Same here and i'd buy it day one too.

Only played the demo for Heavy Rain so if it came packaged with Beyond on PS4 it would be even sweeter.

Beyond doesn't deserve the remake treatment. I'm all for keeping classic or iconic games up to date, but Beyond simply doesn't qualify. It was pretty disappointing after the masterful Heavy Rain.
Not like you need to buy it you know.

plausible, but they didn't sell or get loved enough for sony to warrant ps4 versions.
Not selling enough is actually a pretty good reason for a remaster. Look at Tomb Raider. It did well enough just as Beyond, but still got a remaster, cause SE wasn't satisfied with the initial sales. PS4 owners are thirsty and this is the best time to sell remasters to them.

All these posts expressing the opinion that Heavy Rain is more deserving of coming to the PS4 echo my own feelings towards a Beyond port. The game really isn't very good, and doesn't warrant the resources spent on a current-gen port. Half the time it looked like a PS4 game anyway.

If they can sell an extra 100000 copies on a next gen port it is more than worth it.

I've love to Jodie's model with silhouette tessellation, SSS, higher quality AO and improved hair. The eyebrows already look great but eyelashes and scalp hair could be made more three dimensional.

Yup I would buy a PS4 port. Replaying the game on PS3 right now and it still looks amazing but the framerate REALLY struggles in places.

I still like heavy rain more than this one, although this was good.

the change to make most actions on the right stick made scenes less tense than they could have been. And i absolutely did not like the order in which the story was told. Oh, and that one forced romance, eugh.

High hopes for QD's next game on PS4 though. Please do something with the Kara concept!

if the stats are true about many PS4 owners not being previous PS3 owners, then maybe its worth it to bring some of these people in on Quantic Dream's stuff.

Doesn't even need a "remaster", just a quick port.

That seems to be the general consensus around GAF and amongst the few I've discussed the games with in person.

I liked HR more too, but it was also more disappointing. Beyond was not as good, but it kept its level throughout. Also, it's one of the most beautiful games on PS3.

I don't know if I'd buy it again, but I would surely borrow it.

Would kind of be interested in finally playing it. Though that many seem to prefer Heavy Rain over it worries me a little. Especially since I'm not very fond of Heavy Rain

I'm waiting for a current gen port/remaster even though it's unannounced, I don't see it as a "must play" game so if it never happens I'll just skip it.

The problem with these sites is you also have listings like these (all PS4):

Fantastic game. I would consider playing it again in a few years. Most likely they can give contract to someone to create HR+Beyond collection for $40-50 for 2015.

If they could up the res to 1080P. Get a solid 30 FPS with no tearing and possibly get rid of the black bars then yes. I would be down. The technical issues in every QD game always bum me out. Hoping for some stability on their PS4 title

this

I dont think it even sold well to warrant it.
1.5m+ million as of March. Probably closer to 2m now. About on par with Heavy Rain, although it took longer for HR to get discounted (different market situation too). This specific remaster if it does exist would be aimed at thirsty PS4 owners and I can imagine it could sell quite a few copies.

Why do people talk about this of all games getting a remaster? Didn't it release to mediocre reviews? There are tons of better reviewing and better selling candidates on PS3.
AAA first party exclusives that released recently? Not really no. Only Beyond, TLoU and GoW:Ascension apply, so does 3 will likely get a remaster. Beyond sold well enough too.

I would love a Remaster of Beyond. Loved it.

Couldn't get into Heavy Rain. Tried playing it 3 times, it's just... boring. And from what I've read the murder reveal is like one huge plot hole generator.

but would it equate to the dev cost t producing said title for ps4?
I would love to play it since I didn't get a chance to do so on PS3, I would honestly probably play it on PSNow

Game was better than HR in every way, but reviewers attacked Cage with furious force. Fuck those reviews.

QD said that both HR and Beyond were "cheap" to produce, and they made both on time and without problems. It most certainly made money for Sony, and Sony will push games from QD because they are artistic and they are trying to push limits of the medium.

edit - HR costed $22 mil for production and $18 mil for marketing. It made more than $100. Beyond costed $27 mil, unknown for marketing.

Which technical issues? Beyond only has a few places where the framerate chugs a bit, but so do most games. Apart from that it is pretty much bug and glitch free, which is kinda amazing after Heavy Rain. No tearing either and I don't consider black bars a technical problem really.

Shinobi's re-tweet lends some credence to it I would imagine.

The Beyond engine was already ported to PS4 for the Dark Sorcerer demo (clever). After that I think the port wouldn't be that costly tbh.

i dropped the ball with this game, i preordered it and then ended up putting more time into the demo than i did the final game. would like to get to it soon, but if info starts to come out about a remaster maybe i'll hold off a bit longer. loved HR as well!

I kind of assume Heavy Rain, Puppeteer, and Ascension are coming in some form.
And I would get all 3. I never played Heavy Rain or Puppeteer. I did play Ascension and while it wasn't my favorite GoW game I still liked it enough. The PS4's muscle should be able to lock down Ascencion's framerate to a solid 60fps. That was one of my issues with the game.

As far as a port for Beyond I say bring it on since I missed playing that one too.

Puppeteer would be worth it if they rebalanced the audio or gave you more fine-tuned control over it. It was darn near impossible to hear what was going on much of the time which is a shame considering it's a story-heavy platformer.

I'd hope that if they're remastering Beyond though that they'd make it a budget title or also include Heavy Rain as part of the package. How much effort would it take to port Heavy Rain and make it presentable?

wog.ch is not particularly reliable when it comes to listing unannounced games. They're just guessing most of the time, as someone else posted they also have BG&E2, Gran Turismo 7 and other stuff up.

They had Rayman Origins 2 for PS3 and 360 at some point too, when Legends was already announced.

Still a great site to buy games from in Switzerland, though.

T'would be so fantastic. An already great looking game with some updated visuals (not that it needs much), same gameplay , though maybe some tweaks using the touch pad etc.

Is there much possibility of it happening?

I support this. Didn't get to play it on PS3 and it looks graphically impressive enough to warrant a PS4 remaster.

I'd prioritize other games before it. Beyond was incredibly disappointing, and I don't think it sold very well.
