• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Give us your 3 gaming PREDICTIONS for 2026.

1. Console hardware prices will increase
2. Adoption of Steam OS by Windows PC gamers triples
3. Xbox announces their exit from the hardware console business and announces plans for Xbox app to be compatible with the Steam Machine

Bloodborne Remake will be announced and will be released in 2026, it will include some extra content and a rework of the chalice dungeons.

Teaser of Bloodborne 2 at TGA.

Nightreign will get Bloodborne inspired dlc.
Bloodborne was peak, the only actual good game they released after Demon Souls. Everything else sucks. Of course we will get more slop like dusk and elden ring.

1. More and more developers are gonna to market their games to the straight male. I'm not sure about Japanese Developers but more Western Developers will start to say outright that their female characters are aimed at The Male Gaze. Sex Sells but at the same time, I think it's too late to course correct due to them dragging their feet for the past 10 to 15 years. That audience moved on to stuff like Gacha that gives them what they want

2. Monolithsoft reveals their next game. I'm hoping for at least two games, a new Xenoblade Game, and a new JRPG IP from them

3. Console prices will increase and as a result the Big Three will have a harder time selling their consoles due to the price

Games:
1. GTA 6 will be delayed into 2027
2. CoD 2026 will be best selling game (depends on GTA6 delay)
3. Some unknown indy game will win a bunch of awards (not GOTY)

Hardware
1. MS will announce and show new Xbox
2. Switch 2 will be hacked
3. All 3 major hardware will go up in price

Random:
1. AI AI AI
2. Square Enix will be sold
3. Bungie will become a support studio

I'm hoping for a sequel to Xenoblade X, personally.

Yeah I hope so too, I was able to play the game this year and I LOVED it. I just wonder if they are gonna to be able top the OST of the first one. They really cooked with that especially

It's tied with Kai No Kiseki Farewell O Zemeria as my GOTY

PS6 is going to be late 2028 or early 2029 at the earliest.

That's too early, it should be at least 2035 at least

I think the Steam Machine will release on time

I'm interested in getting one but if the rumors about the price are true than I would rather wait another five years to build a new PC than buy a Steam Machine

2. Monolithsoft reveals their next game. I'm hoping for at least two games, a new Xenoblade Game, and a new JRPG IP from them
Or a mainline Zelda game:

1. We will get a trailer and release date for Final Fantasy VII Part 3 and it'll be called Reunion.

2. We will get an announcement for a new Tales game by the end of 2026.

3. No Half Life 3.

The Halo remake will bomb, because of lack of multiplayer.

Multiplayer, first local and then via Xbox Live, is what made Halo into a blockbuster game. Remove that and the single-player campaign alone isn't enough to carry the game.
Agreed but its a relic at this point games have moved on. MP or not the game will be irrelevant.

State of Decay 3 cancelled

Xbox regression in the console market continues as does a lack of scrutiny for its executives in the media

Various UI Themes finally arrive on Switch

  • Sony will release a game with a lesbian main character.
  • Slimeball Schreier will write multiple hit pieces about studios making their adult day cares actually work for their $200K+ salaries, and firing the clowns who try to form unions cause they want to fake work from home and make $500k.
  • MS will discontinue one or both Series consoles due to run away DRAM inflation making a 3rd and 4th price hike a comically ridiculous endeavor. If it prolongs and worsens as expected, they'll likely use the DRAM apocalypse as the excuse to exit hardware entirely (canceling all next-gen and future products).

That describes every piece of hardware they've ever released cause they woefully under produce by default, and with the expected scary high prices, they will undoubtedly further under produce into the earth's core.

1. GTA6 is merely decent
2. Microsoft withdraws from the hardware race
3. Sony finds receipts for ten million more ps2's after the Switch passes the 160m mark.

1.Switch 2 goes up in price as soon as current stock ends.
2.Sony publishes gaas turds to nobody's surprise.
3.Mario Galaxy Movie doesn't reach 1B global box Office.

1. Steam Machine will be priced too high to compete with consoles, but priced more aggressively than other PCs with the same inflated cost due to RAM/SSDs. Will be Steam Deck levels of success of a few milion.
2. GPU/RAM/SSD pricing will start to go back down by the end of the year, but be bad for most of 2026, and at least one console maker will raise costs.
3. Half-Life 3 will come out with the Steam Machine or later in the year.

1. AI will start to become normalized within game development so get used to it I suppose.

2. GTA 6 will not be worth the countless years of waiting and numerous delays.

3. New 3D Mario game (more of an open world game) will be announced.

What I can say for sure is that Marathon will be one of the worst games of the year and a real blow to Hermen Hulst and PlayStation. 😎

Steam Machines do very well.
Grand Theft Auto VI will indeed release on November 19th, 2026
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will be announced in late January to early February celebrating the release of Rebirth.
