Reports from Japan say Game Boy Micro is off to a solid sales start on its first day on sale.
A spokesperson for 'Best Buy' style retailer Yamada Denki said, "The orders have been going well. The Famicon color version is really popular."
Hirokazu Hamamura, president of magazine Famitsu added, "Despite the Micro's functions being the same as the existing models, it is popular. Consumers lately have tended to buy particular hardware because it is stylish or fashionable."
One retailer said he's sold 70% of his stock, but that sales had not matched Game Boy Advance's launch.
Micro went on sale in Japan today, a week before its U.S. launch. The company's target is to sell 4 million units within six months.
