Forza Horizon 6 | Official Launch Trailer

I would write "first" but since I waited to actually watch the trailer (and had to give up, video won't load) and react, someone will get messages in before me.

But me and at least two IRL friends are excited about this game and I hope he's not disappointed by the reality of it launching. I expect to like it okay with the whole 3d Japan thing, but FH5 was my first entry into the series and so I don't care for the game series that much, but he is super hyped up about it and I hope he's not overhyped and therefore bound to be disappointed if the expectations don't match up with the hype.

Well idk about anybody else but GAF has been a shitshow lately. Half of the time it doesn't load, and I've gotten like 3 cloud fare errors in the last 24 hours.

So it could just be low traffic.
 
Launch trailer? I thought this was a trailer to say the game is out now, but after watching it, another 2 weeks to go yet, they should have held off till then...

Well, I'm a Sony Pony and I'm excited for whenever it comes out later this year. Of late, GAF has just been so low energy on games that are way more popular in the mainstream.

The title should have been "Forza Horizon 6 launch trailer features a delivery van. Is this DEI, but for cars?" and we could have boosted the engagement numbers wayyy up. Missed opportunity!

Not joking at all. It's using rasterized lighting which is very easy to see. I don't really think the game looks good. Mayne for like a 2020 game but for 2026? Nah.

The lighting, material quality, even the physics just look very average. I say this as someone who played and owns FH3, 4, & 5. Also having been to Japan a few times and driven around a lot, I'm not remotely impressed by this rendition of Japan. I haven't even touched on the games flaws like low traffic and pedestrian density in the Tokyo area of the game. There are lots of other things that are just wrong like street width, the lack of generally narrow cars, etc. One of the laziest Forza games.

Finally, read the text at the bottom of the game. It's not gameplay. Just watch the actual gameplay videos. It's such a lazy copy and paste job.

Lol well that last bit is spot on I'll give you that 😅

It's a racing game timed exclusive to PC and Xbox on a mostly console focused board where 80% (?) are on Switch and PS5. Unless there is a controversy there won't be much talk.

But even the gameplay videos looked impressive to me. One of the few games where I felt the "this is nextgen" feeling this generation.
 
I'm excited to mess around with it, just hoping the progression changes work out.

Should easily have better races and general traversal with FH5's setting being flatter compared to Japan.

FH6 doesn't give me any next gen vibes. It can easily run on the xbox one x at like 30 fps. Anything with a minimum spec requirement of a GTX 1650 or 6500 xt can never be next gen.

There were only 2 seconds in that trailer that looked cool (1:12-1:14). The rest feels like a retread. I hope there is something that holds it together and it does not feel like going through the motions. After Forza Horizon 5 I am tired.

I am in the same boat as you. I am a racing games player first and foremost, but unfortunately I have 0 hype for this game.

Maybe it's an age thing, but everything in Horizon 6 just looks sterile and perfect, the roads as you said are way too wide, and the low traffic density. It is a game designed for a broad audience, I get that, but it sucks that It does not really appeal to me any more.

Enjoy the game guys, I might get it down the line at some point just to mess around.
 
Really excited for this. I wanted to like 5 but the cringy npcs and commentators put me off, map was a bit flat and boring too. Tokyo is the perfect location for an open world car game, hope they do LA next for the full Midnight Club tribute.

If you're going Play Anywhere, use Loaded/Cdkeys. This is the best deal you're gonna get for the premium edition:

No thanks, it's not a Steam key. Premium edition is irrelevant. Ill just get the standard Steam edition.
 
FH5 was Cross gen but looked almost NextGen at the time.

FH6 is Next Gen only but looks almost Cross Gen now.

That's why Im not excited. I was expecting this to be a clear step up over FH5.
