I'm going to wait for the unbiased reviews. I have already concluded, having not played the game, that it is over-rated and should score no more than the equivalent of an 8.5 on any scale. Any other score is moneyhattedbiased.

Yeah, people only like Halo cause Microsoft virtually forces it upon us with all the manufactured hype and marketing

The Spiker grenade is only cheap indoors. Its blast radius is a lot smaller than the regular grenades. I would make that thread, but I will be too busy playing Halo 3 to care about GAF at that time.

HALO was given a ten, HALO 2 got 9.5 / 10 (we had two reviews). So it's quite good, but there's a bad a tendency here in Central-Europe: our ratings are higher than the average score globally.

Agreed apart from Gametrailers, most of their reviews I find to be uninformed.

The first level is pretty straight forward A-B stuff, nothing really surprising. The only new idea in the first level is the implementation of various things you do with the x-button. The bubble shiled we know, but you have auto-turrets, invisble cloaking device, invicebility and so on.

Even if I read that incorrectly, it would still say the same thing.

It's the same for other places like Gamespot, which, arguably, rates games lower to get hits on their site, according to GAF. I'm not saying whether they do or not. But I know there are some review sites/magazines that will rate Halo 3 lower than everything else to get some controversy.

Not for me. The main problems I had with Halo 1 and 2 was the horrible level design and repetitive combat. If Halo 3 is more of the same then it doesn't matter to me what reviewers score it because, like i've said, it's going to get 9's and 10's from everyone anyways. I'm hoping desperately that Bungie's fixed these issues.
