GameSpot will give it an 8.5 for sure, Gertsman and most of the GS staff are anything but Halo fans. The rest of the reviews I figure will be 9 or higher. Looking forward to this thread when they all start coming out. There will be one or two people complaining about the reviews, and about 40 people laughing at them.
 
"The Official Xbox Magazine of Australia awarded Halo 3 a score of 10/10 despite citing that the graphics of Halo 3 look similar to Halo 2 but just in HD. Elsewhere, the official Xbox Magazine of Brazil awarded it a 9/10 again stating it looked like Halo 2 in HD but all in all it is a fantastic game."

Amusing. Apparently the game is so GREAT they just had to give it top scores despite the fact the graphics aren't all that grand.

Oh and the fact its called Halo is a reason why it has received such high scores.

Is this pre-emptive damage control if the actual review scores are high or preperation for a troll-athon when they are lower than you expect?

Maybe he just feels Halo is getting a small pass where most games would suffer? "Halo 2 HD" is pretty big. Especially when it's said by an official XBOX magazine.

Marine dialog is one of my favorite things in Halo (honestly)

But stinkles helped craft the story (he's franchise lead writer I think), wrote marine dialog and playtests the game (and probably beyond that). That's developing a game, not?

If that's the case, I stand corrected. I was under the assumption he was the bungie.net content manager. The "infamous developer" remark was just a bit funny.

I heard that Frankie actually built the entire Halo 3 engine in Fortran over two years ago. It worked TOO well.

Don't be stupid. Official magazines are just as capable of impartiality as other magazines. In fact, they're probably so aware of it that they make a point of it for the most part.

You're going to need to learn to think a little more before you press that submit button around here.
 
Hey guys I just finished the game using a bot I made in XNA. The best part about it is you can just sit back and watch it play the game for you. Overall I wasn't impressed with the graphics at all, and everyone saying it's Halo 2 in HD, are being kind of generous.. lets be serious.. this game doesn't look all that much better than Halo 1.

Overall, I'd give it a 5/10, because the graphics aren't very good. Sorry bungie.. I would have prefered a 12 hour long CG movie instead of this "game" thing you're doing here.

I'm going to wait for the unbiased reviews. I have already concluded, having not played the game, that it is over-rated and should score no more than the equivalent of an 8.5 on any scale. Any other score is moneyhattedbiased.
 
I give Halo 3 a 2/5.

The first level is really annoying. Who decided to make the first level based in an outerspace petting zoo? Really.
