Where did you get a high quality picture?

Please tell me your tag was just given to you from this comment.

I'm so excited for the Trump voter angst this game is will cause.

I was just given the tag and I love it! Thanks to the mods for a sense of humor, I love it! :)
Oh Canada! I mean, when the Detroit Red Wings get eliminated from the playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs are our team we support. :)

lol, people acting like White racist villains haven't been done before.

btw the Character with Sinner written on their back is most likely the player character.

Based on the covers for Far Cry 3 and 4, its not.

I feel like you guys are giving "the MAGA crowd" way too much credit if you think they're going to be offended by any of this. Most of this will fly way over their heads and they'll just be enjoying the southern-themed shooter they've always wanted.

Though the irony of it being developed by a bunch of French guys is pretty hilarious.

I would hope this doesn't follow Bishock Infinite too closely considering that story fell apart halfway through.

Fucking Daisy, man. You didn't have to do her like that, Ken :/

Yeah, I can't see them doing this evangelical racist trump supporter angle and just include a white dude as the main character. What would be the point?

If the MC is a poc,I don't think they'd be too thrilled.

Why do people keep saying this?

This hasn't been true with Far Cry 3 and 4.
Because multiple posts stating it will be controversial for doing so. I didnt say Far Cry did this before either.

Pretty sure Assassins Creed has done it before so theres a Ubisoft game.

We're the real villains bro

That was towards your second comment. The player hasn't always been on the cover.

Looks like Far Cry with planes to me.

It's all over the place.

Looks like they're still going for the "memorable antagonist" again which is a shame 'cause I feel it's stemmed from that Far Cry 3 "insanity" guy whose edgy dialogue and just above average performance allowed him to stand-out amongst otherwise bland characters and is now massively overrated.

Looking forward to gameplay, regardless.

What else would you want them to do? Make the main antagonist bland on purpose?

Unlikely.

The character buried in the sand in the Far Cry 3 cover is not Jason and the one in the cover of Far Cry 4 under Pagan Min hand is not Ajay.

Nobody Canadian would ever actually say this sentence.

I don't think their aspirations are going to be quite as high here. There's less distance to fall. :/

For a different reason than most I am holding off on this release. I am not burnt out by the open world formula they have made...I am not upset with the way the game looks....or the setting.

I just refuse to buy another Far Cry game until I find out if the "get knocked out as you walk into a room, or overpowered in some way multiple times during the game, just so you can escape and get revenge" is in this game or not....

I hate it when games do this, but the Far Cry games have taken it to a new level. I think in Far Cry 3 you are knocked out, or overpowered, at least 5 times during the game, if not more.

Some people are going to get offended even if it doesn't deal directly with Trump. If this brings up anything to do with race you can guarantee it.

I have never played a Far Cry game but I'm liking the look of this.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, why can't any of Ubisoft's open world games ever be set in the Sengoku period of Japan? There's just so much history there to explore and stories to be told, yet it's never done. I just don't get it.

I am interested in both the political angle they're (presumably) taking and that there's a WW2 looking fighter plane flying around.

I'd be super happy if it doesn't involve shooting 23 beavers for a wallet. And a black protagonist, please.

Make the protag black and the headlines will be lit.

Oh man, I'd love a character similar to Lincoln going on a revenge trip. Mafia 3 was such a tease, great premise let down by mediocre gameplay and repetitive mission structure.

If FC5 takes that and makes it actually good, hnnngh!

If protag is black then this enemy faction (from the looks of it) would be hurling nonstop racial slurs at the player... I don't think Ubisoft has the balls to put something like that out.

What else would you want them to do? Make the main antagonist bland on purpose?

No, but I feel in the past two games, they have rested on the fact they have a "strong" antagonist to hang an average story/gameplay loop around. By average, I mean in these sense that I believe Ubi can do better.

Neither do 98% of the people using it today so it fits.

touche`

You act as if right-wingers didn't steal this flag and turn it into an anti-government banner.

Yeah, a bunch of morons have hijacked the flag but its still a great symbol regardless. I get pissed off at people who lump it in with the confederate flag though. The confederate flag is an overt symbol of racism and slavery where the Gadsden flag a a symbol of freedom from tyranny.

This is oddly specific. Only series that they have were that would fit is Assassin's Creed.

Come to me! Hahaha all the delicious salt that will flow. GOOD for Ubisoft for tackling this shit. Can't wait for the Fox news hit piece hahahah.

Do I have to listen to more in your face speeches from this lot now. I hope there is more to this new Far Cry. I was kinda excited with the locale but that box art makes me think same old. Bring on the game play.

I cannot wait until this blows up in other news outlets. Interested to see who they pick for the protagonist.

I think I am Day 1 on this.
