Discovery on Nintendo eShop

I think the one thing I missed about gaming in a steam deck is the discovery on the Steam store. It was so much easier to find games you'd like to play on there. I'm browsing through the Nintendo eshop and I'm like "that's it?" It's like I can't find anything besides the 100 games I already know of.

Where's all the roguelikes? Or survivor likes? Is there an indie space that I'm missing on the eshop?

I'll use dekudeals and YouTube to discover new games then I'll Google if it's on Nintendo.

Otherwise , the search system is much better on the Nintendo website.

Yeah I don't really have a great time browsing the eshop. I just intermittently check on the sales portion and try to make sure I consciously wish list anything I find a vague interest in so that I can keep track of it when it goes on sale because who knows if I'll ever find it again. I don't really have a good time searching through PlayStation store either.

It really makes you wonder wtf is wrong with them not having shit like this. I found many games on steam I enjoy thanks to it's suggestions. I use my switch 2 and PS5 as exclusive only machines.

Welcome to console gaming.
Console stores are awful for discovery, better to just look up games on steam and check if there's a switch version
100% agree, but... why the hell are console stores so damn terrible?? One of the things I love about PC is that the store isn't the worst piece of software you'll ever interact with, as it always is on the platforms.

And the fact that you can't sit and read in-depth verified user reviews, check lively forum discussions tied to it, browse user screenshots, and more all in the same shop alongside free user workshop mods... I don't see how anyone lives in the console space, gaming sucks when you're locked in there and trying to play anything other than major releases.

I use my switch 2 and PS5 as exclusive only machines.
exactly -- PC is a necessary platform now, and then you get either Nintendo or Sony for some exclusives you want, in my case usually just Nintendo because Sony exclusives do nothing for me.

In context of Steam Machine price, people still don't grasp just what a vast improvement your life is on that kind of platform, I'd sacrifice a ton of power to avoid having to spend my time in the console world, except for the 1st party Nintendo games.

I still have no idea what to expect from the steam machine but it's something I'd consider if the 2TB was around $1k. I am having a hard time stomaching almost $1,500 for that. Like how will it play FH6 compared to the Xbox Series X or how would it play Alan Wake 2 compared to the ps5 pro?
