From the look of the screens at the top of this page, it looks MUCH improved. I love the dark LOTR vibe.

The HD trailer looks great! Very dark, very atmospheric, with some good monster design (love the guy inside the jar).
 
Asian version is indeed in English. Stat porn is my favourited kind of porn so I'm tempted to get this, even though it looks pretty meh. :\
 
The trailer makes it look like the most badass game in a while, but the real gameplay videos from earlier were horrible. :lol Hopefully the game turns out to be decent enough, otherwise it would be a shame to waste such cool (monster) art direction on a flop.

Yes, I am really getting tired of of kids or teens being the main characters. Maybe in a couple more generations it will change. There are so few games that do that now.

This series has never had teenage protaginists, nor any crazy hair or child characters with annoying voices.
 
The trailer gave me a better impressions than what I've heard and seen of the game before. I like how the character dodged and moved generally a lot more fluid than in for example Oblivion.
 
Holy shit! ...watched that trailer and hype is definitely up now for this! Old school Medievel Dark Fantasy theme looks fantastic and it's so wonderful to see it in this day and age even though some may deem it generic. I love it!

When is this supposed to launch?

Official site-a-tron! Looks like February 2009. Unless customary Japanese date ordering is day first, that would make it May. I wouldn't know.
 
I really hope it turns out well too. Stat-based dungeon crawl in current-gen is non-existent so far (bar Oblivion)... Would love a return to this.

The Japanese version of Demon's Souls is scheduled for release in early February of next year, but it looks it won't be the only one making it out that month. Siliconera suggests that the Asian version will also ship in February and most interestingly will be entirely in English. The site recently went hands-on with a new build at the Asia Game Show in Hong Kong and have discovered that the demo was, in fact, completely in English.

Now, it is possible that the final release in Asia may not be in that language; however, that is really moot. It's most important to note that there is some form of English language version and it is currently in the works. At the moment, there haven't been any mention from either SCEA or SCEE in regards to North American and European releases for Demon's Souls.
 
I think it could be cool, but really... who the fuck knows with games nowadays?

I thought I'd like Mass Effect, and ended up disliking it, I was skeptical about Assassin's Creed, but in the end loved it.

This may or may not be awesome.
 
I'm hoping the flow of gameplay will be comparable to games like Etrian Odyssey or Diablo. With lots of character building, weapon equiping, and dungeon exploring.

Well, it'll be in English, at least the Asian version.
I just can't import something unless I can understand it, or text isn't required too much.

I can't believe this RPG will have English. Have money, will import.
