CD Projekt Red seems to be really interested in the Chinese market. From localized version of TW3, Iwinski's visits to the country, to Gwent.

In other news the company's market capitalisation has exceeded 3 billion PLN (~760 million USD) making it one of the most expensive Polish companies, overtaking Polish rail cargo, a major bank and a large coal mining company.

2016 July 18, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD PROJEKT RED and GAEA announce cooperation to bring GWENT: The Witcher Card Game to China.

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is a free to play game set in the world known from widely acclaimed The Witcher novels. Initially a card game featured in the third installment of The Witcher role-playing trilogy -- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt -- it was quickly elevated to cult status by gamers and, by their request, has been made into a standalone online collectible card game. Fun and offering serious tactical possibilities, GWENT focuses on bluffing, on-the-fly decision making and thoughtful deck construction.

The partnership with GAEA will enable and strengthen the publishing, localization, promotion and sales efforts of the game, and also marks the official entry of CD PROJEKT RED onto the vast Chinese market.

“We feel really good to be teaming up with GAEA, as we have not only found gaming professionals and market experts with vast knowledge and experience, but also -- and for us this is equally important -- fellow gamers who share our passion for gaming and our gamer-centric values,” said Marcin Iwiński, CD PROJEKT co-founder and Joint CEO. “China is a new and unexplored market for us, but our goals always remain the same -- we want to reach out to gamers, understand what they expect from video games and give them a collectible card game crafted in a true gamer-centric way,” adds Iwiński.

“CD PROJEKT RED is an example of a best-in-class development studio, The Witcher is one of the most popular game franchises in the world, and in GWENT, gamers are the wild card,” says Yanzhi Wang, CEO and founder of GAEA. “We are all rebels, as GAEA’s motivation and values match those of CD PROJEKT RED -- to meet the expectation of players across the globe by constantly redefining what it means to deliver high quality in terms of video games. As fans of The Witcher franchise, we will do our best to introduce Chinese players to GWENT: The Witcher Card Game in the most exciting ways.”

GWENT is still under development and we will bring more updates in the coming future. If you wish to share your suggestions or ideas, please contact GWENT@gaeamobile.com
