Detailed summary of the new content:
Al Sundan: Desert Fights on a Vast New Map

We know you’ve been hungry for more maps. Therefore, we were pleased to reveal that a lot of fresh fighting grounds are being cooked up. First stop: The North African desert. Coming in June, the Al Sundan map is based on the vista used in the single player War Story Under No Flag.

Optimized for all-out multiplayer action, the location focuses on large distances, vehicle-based teamplay, and battles across all ranges. Al Sundan is classic Battlefield. We can’t wait to let you play it.

Marita: Infantry-Focused Map Coming in July

Following the release of the Mercury map, the Battle of Greece will continue with Marita. Here, you’ll deploy on a sloping mountain ridge and within the tight streets of a rural town, where Allied forces are making a last stand to halt the Axis army.

Marita is an infantry-focused map, where all four soldier classes will be able to shine. Tanks and aircraft will stand aside for intense infantry gunfights and sneaky flanks in the cobbled streets. We look forward to letting you tackle this vertical environment as the Battle of Greece rages on.

Operation Underground: Fast Action Below Street Level

Fans of the classic Operation Métro map are in for a treat as we lifted the veil on another upcoming map: Operation Underground. Inspired by the fan-favorite Battlefield 3 map, it will deliver tight, infantry-focused action with more flexibility and new, fun ways to get around. The areas will be diverse, and different playstyles will be supported, as you fight through urban streets, courtyards, the plaza area, service tunnels, train platforms, and more. This one’s coming in October.

Two New Close-Quarter Maps

Destroy an explosives production factory in Lofoten Islands. Unseat the Axis occupation in Provence. With Chapter 4: Defying the Odds, two new and intense close-quarter maps are coming to Battlefield V. By popular demand, we’re bringing more maps to players craving tighter types of multiplayer. Specially tailored for intimate infantry combat, the new battlefields will challenge your squad in unique ways. Teamwork, skill, and adaptation are your keys to victory.

Ongoing Improvements to Firestorm

If you’re a battle royale fan, our dedication to keep fanning the flames of Halvøy was more good news. Regular Firestorm updates will be coming, across both maps and systems. The first update will unveil new weapons, custom skins, squad respawn, improvements to the loot system, and matchmaking, and a brand-new landmark called The Dome. This drops mid-June.

Battlefield V Added to The Vault

Another pleasant announcement: starting June 8, you can play Battlefield V in the EA Access and Origin Access Vault. Battlefield V will also be available through EA Access on PlayStation 4 when it launches next month.

Deploy in the Pacific in Chapter 5

Last, but far from least, was an exciting reveal: Battlefield V will reach the Pacific this fall with Chapter 5!

The Pacific Theater has been part of the Battlefield DNA ever since the game-changing debut of Battlefield 1942. Now, we’re crafting the ultimate reimagining of the conflict. As the U.S. and Japan enter the fight, expect additional maps, including a modern take on an absolute Battlefield classic: Iwo Jima. You’ll be able to use amphibious units to pummel the war-ridden shores and an expanded arsenal to rouse your squad to victory.

Finally I have been waiting for this for a long time. To me, this is what battlefield 1942 used to be and I miss that.

Guys,

It's great to be back on NeoGaf. All I heard was the forum turned into an extremely PC-oriented forum with strict guidelines.

Then, a few weeks earlier a very close friend of mine told me the old NeoGaf is back to its root. Not ResetEra, but NeoGaf the way we always knew it.

So here I am with my new account and thank god I don't have to steal someone's uni-email to register like I did back in 2006!

Is it going to be like that? We are having a huge market gap in WW2 games that capture the atmosphere like BF1942 or BF1943. I think the whole addition of ray tracing effects into a game that is supposed to capture gloomy, dark, cloudy, and smoky sceneries added to the failure of capturing this atmosphere. It's too bright!

2 maps dedicated to 5v5 only......what a retarded move

5v5 is a waste on BF, want 5v5, just revamp the maps, but to not have any other modes on 2 new maps, when they community has shouted MORE MAPS, just shows dice still dont have a clue.

So what happens if this new mode fails?.....they remove servers for it? (like they did for frontlines and domination), now weve lost 2 maps as well

How does that make sense.....at all!

Interesting content but I would of still paid for premium. And disappointed it seems like 2 of these maps are 5v5 mode?

The maps do look nice and the Pacific stuff is probably going to take for ever to drip feed out. Still enjoy the game but the maps are letting it down.

Easy solution for DICE, just use the firestorm map to create a bunch of new maps, all you gotta do is drop some flags. You could get 10-15 maps for sure in different configurations. And it would barely cost anything, I bet players would do all the work for them even.

Bigger news is that BF is going into the Vault, so if you subscribe to EA the game is basically F2P at this point. And EA is coming to PS4, so I don't see anyone actually paying for this game in the future.

Yup they havent learned after the Incursions fail... Majority of the BF players want big scale fights. Not this mlg420 garbage.
